One of New Songs May Address 9/11 Attacks From Terrorists' Viewpoint - December 3rd, 2005 Slayer are preparing to enter the studio to begin recording the long-awaited follow-up to the band's acclaimed 2001 release, "God Hates Us All". According to Revolver magazine, Slayer guitarists Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman are currently finishing up the lyrics, which will surely be as scathing, misanthropic, and controversial as anything Slayer have written. One of Hanneman's songs may even address the attacks of 9/11 from the terrorists' perspective. "We're Slayer, dude," King told Revolver. "We have to be dangerous." Although nothing has yet been officially confirmed, King had previously told Metal Hammer magazine that he was hoping the band would once again work with producer Dave Sardy, who had previously produced Slayer's tribute to the great punk bands of the '80s, "Undisputed Attitude". "[Dave] Lombardo wants Rick Rubin for drums, and I've no problems with that because, in my opinion, it's what he's best at. But I think we're all pretty much agreed that the overall producer will be Sardy," King was quoted as saying. Slayer's upcoming album will surface on American Recordings' new home, Warner Bros., sometime in 2006.
Not much news, but still new news. |
Haha, kerry said "we're slayer dude, we have to be dangerous". That made me laugh for some reason.

What's that design on his bass? It looks cool
Oh, that's Tom's custom designed ESP bass. Man if I ever get the cash together, I'm gonna have ESP model a regular 6 string electric guitar after toms bass. That would look so friggin awesome.:thumb: |
Well, the article in the magazine was from Revolver. Anyways, the article was the same thing as I posted from Slayersaves, only it says in the corner of the article that the album is due March 2006.
|
I wasn't expecting it to be out this year anyways. I actually thought they were going to release it in february 2006, so I wasn't to far off. :D
|
just hoping it doesnt blow... :\

Yeah same here. I've got a lot of hope riding on this cd. I'm getting a little worried that they might be getting to big. Ya know what I mean?
BTW, this thread is slowing way the hell down. We gotta get more people in here. |
Yeah this thread is kind of dying. But I'm sure it'll surge with posts for a while once the new CD comes out.
About Slayer being big. I don't really care if they become more popular, I just hope that this CD isn't one that will be more radio-friendly appeal to the majority of teens style CD. I hope they're making it to just appeal to the Slayer fans and keep it fast, unforgiving and aggressive. |

It isn't really the popularity itself that worries me. It's that with popularity, comes the need to make more radio friendly sh*t. I too would love to see some really aggressive type stuff. From what I've read on slayersaves.com it sounds like the album will rock. I mean, writing a song from the terrorist's point of view? That sure as hell will give them some flak. |
Isn't that song about the terrorits written by Jeff? I may be wrong. But that seems kind of like something Tom would write.
NP: Testament - Into the Pit |

NP: Testament - Into the Pit
You'd think. I don't really care who wrote it, just as long as it's written. :D |
I don't have a problem with them becoming big it's just...It annoys me when I see Opeth on MTV, it's not that I have a problem with it, it just kind of surprised me.
Yea we need some more posting up in here, we're almost at 2,000 posts. |
GAHG! Slayer's website isn't up. They better be updating that shit. The Q&A section hasn't been updated like in 3 years.
god i know i sent in a question to them like last year and i keep checking periodically but its NEVER updated lol |
Okay, so I downloaded a Slayer bootleg, and they're playing a song called War, and I have never heard this song, and Google isn't showing anything. And after that they play a song called Disorder and it sounds kind of the same as the War song.
But actually I found lyrics. It's the lyrics to both of the songs:
Our government is fucked Sure to bring us down The media incites civil unrest Hatred can bring you down War! (War!) I don't want your war War! (War!) We don’t need your war We don't need your war War! Military beasts starvin countries Drama brings you to your knees Spill your blood to save humanity Dyin’ for the food we feed War! (War!) I don't want your war War! (War!) We don’t need your war We don't need your war War! Our government is fucked Sure to bring us down The media incites civil unrest Hatred can bring you down Injustice drives you crazy It drive L.A. insane In this generation Hatred is the name War! (War!) I don't want your war War! (War!) We don’t need your war We don't need your war War! War! L.A. '92 Bastard magic should make you cry The answer to the question is we ain't gonna die L.A. '92 Police can make me under stress While all L.A.'s a fuckin mess Don't patronise my fuckin ass Some heads will get crashed L.A. '92 Bush has got his upper cut He's goin to fuckin war He won't revert to sticks and stones Just bullet holes and broken bones Chaos, chaos, chaos, chaos Don't give a fuck! Everybody knock ya down No weight support so taken down The juk-jock might lock you in a cell We ain't got shit, now had enough Chaos, chaos, chaos, chaos Don't give a ****! Disorder! Disorder! Disorder! Disorder! Disorder! Disorder! Disorder! Disorder!
I'm thinking the songs are a cover. EDIT-Holy crap! I typed in some of those lyrics, and the results were Ice T featuring Slayer. That's kind of odd, that would explain why I haven't heard the song either. |

When are they releasing a new album. |
Slayer are preparing to enter the studio to begin recording the long-awaited follow-up to the band's acclaimed 2001 release, "God Hates Us All". "We have to be dangerous."
Although nothing has yet been officially confirmed, King had previously told Metal Hammer magazine that he was hoping the band would once again work with producer Dave Sardy, who had previously produced Slayer's tribute to the great punk bands of the '80s, "Undisputed Attitude". Slayer's upcoming album will surface on American Recordings' new home, Warner Bros., sometime in 2006. Butcher posted that info. |
The rumor is sometime in March. Well, it's not really a rumor. Revolver magazine said it will be released in March, but first the album was supposed to be released in February, now it's March, so I'm not even completely sure.
In the terrorists perspective!?????
**** yeah! tHat would be so kickass.
Yeah it would, as long as it's just not a crappy song. Hopefully Slayer will possibly be going back to their more older style, and make it less God Hates Us All style. But then Jeff did say that the songs they have so far, are the kind of style of the last 2 songs from GHUA. But if they can write more stuff like Warzone, that'd be great. |
I've never even really heard a lot from GHUA, except from some songs off the samples that I hear. Hell Awaits remains my favorite.
|
I've never even really heard a lot from GHUA, except from some songs off the samples that I hear. Hell Awaits remains my favorite.
Yes Hell Awaits is very awesome. Slayer's website used to have a flash player where you could listen to every single song off of GHUA, and that's where I listened to the songs. I didn't like them so I never bought the album. It's just feels (to me) sort of like fast nu-metally music with solos. Jeff and Kerry tuned their guitars all the way down to B. And King wrote must of the lyrics, and his lyrics on this album are just silly:
You spineless fucking maggot - you're just wasting my time Get out of my face - Get out of my life Out of my fucking way - Just die
But then there are good ones. But most of the lyrics sound like a teenage angst rant. Which is a major turn off to me. Edit- Anyway, in my long journey to be able to play At Dawn They Sleep all down-picking and keep the pace constant, I am still struggling. |
yeah Jeff and Tom > Kerry at lyrics
|
yeah Jeff and Tom > Kerry at lyrics
Totally, though I really like the lyrics in Skeletons of Society and Read Between the Lies. |
What is happening to our Slayer thread?
Where have lightningmetal666 and britton been? On a good note, I got the Still Reigning DVD last night. It was very awesome. |

Yeah, I really dug that Slayer in their own words section. Though I think it was too short. |
The concert was cool, but the dvd was too short, it needed more extras.

I totally agree. I like the DVD, but now I'm kind of thinking it wasn't worth the 23 bucks. But then again, I got it for free really. So no big deal. FINALLY! A Slayersaves update with a video download. http://www.slayersaves.com/slayerlivefeeds.htm |
Yeah, Still Reigning was way too short.
I don't really like Slayer's dvds anymore, Tom's voice just isn't the same and the two dvds are so similar, like Jeff, Kerry and Tom are just doing pretty much the same thing on both, the stage looks the same etc |
Man anything by slayer is too short lol i just cant get enough :P and does anyone think that slayer are better live than on cd?
|
Man anything by slayer is too short lol i just cant get enough :P and does anyone think that slayer are better live than on cd?
Yes. If I had to chose to see Slayer live again, or get all their CD's and merchandise, I'd take seeing them live. Hopefully they'll be touring real soon. |
/Bump
Slayer.net has been updated. Kinda sorta. post #3,333 |
