DIYA? sorry man, dont get it :p
but yeah, there not a bad band, and i think matt heafys got a good voice, especially in pull harder and a gunshot to the head... i was saying to ya in another thread how much it pisses me off when people start listening to a band and then think they own them...yeah the emos round here are like that meh, kill em all, metallica style
as trivium would encourage. and i remember you saying that about noob-fans who adopt a newest album and say how great it is. it was my arch enemy thread, and i posted my agreement on that subject! -:chug: *DIYA=Dying In Your Arms* and Matt has a good voice, but he's not going to for long, he blows himself out too much. he doesnt do it properly. if he could do it properly and yet keep his quality sound, that would be great. otherwise, it's quite tragic. |
yeah, but he's probably having vocal lessons or something, bet he knows that hes gonna **** his voice if he keeps goin.
and yeah, i definitely agree with that, emos are all over dying in your arms. ah well, let em have it |
While I have major issues with Heafy's vocal technique (or more accurately, lack thereof), I do own From Ember to Inferno and I just ordered Ascendancy. They don't sound too bad.
While I have major issues with Heafy's vocal technique (or more accurately, lack thereof), I do own From Ember to Inferno and I just ordered Ascendancy. I'm concerned by his lack of technique because he's not gonna have a voice soon.
|
same. surely someones warned him by now, hopefully he'll sort it out.
|
I'm concerned by his lack of technique because he's not gonna have a voice soon.
You know, I would much rather see Trivium with an actual frontman, someone who can pull off the vocals and have Heaffy just play guitar. Him and Cory are great at the twin guitar thing; it's obvious he is a better guitarist than vocalist. |
yeah they are an amazing duo. they should keep doing backing though.
|
I read the other day on the trivium official board paolo the bass player had said they had eliminated screaming all together cause they were sick of it. Your thoughts?
 |
there influenced by metallica. they wanna be more like tallica
|

There's a video on Launch of them playing Pull Harder live. There were no screams, just raspy Hetfield things. I liked it that way. I don't think it will cause any problems, just a lot of disappointed fans that really liked the screams. |
i was implying that emo's dont really like trivium, they just like DIYA. i dont have a problem with them either, i just dont like their style of music.
and im glad you made that decision. lol.:)
that' not true. Trvium aren't emo at all, but they're just a band that emo's like also.Like, there were emo'#s at Chimaira in Birmingham, doesn't mean Chiamira are emo lol. Most of them liked Trivium before they bought Acendancy. (and before DIYA) was released. |

That's very true. As I told my friend Erik yesterday (his first listen to Trivium): "I look forward to the day Heafy blows his voice out and realizes he needs to rehibilitate his voice and learn to do vocals correctly, or gets replaced with someone who doesn't suck." Erik's thoughts: "I like the music, but holy hell, this guy's worse than Atilla." |
I think it's safe to say now that Heafy has done an M.Shadows:(
|
I hope he doesn't get replaced. I hope he gets some vocal help and keeps going.
|
He hasn't properly blown it yet. He needs to rest and learn a technique.
|
He hasn't properly blown it yet. He needs to rest and learn a technique.
He is far too arrogant to do that. |
That's pretty true.
i was implying that emo's dont really like trivium, they just like DIYA. i dont have a problem with them either, i just dont like their style of music.
Are "emo's" some new breed of animal or something???
there influenced by metallica. they wanna be more like tallica
You keep thinking that, buddy :) |
Are "emo's" some new breed of animal or something???
I believe he was referring to emo kids. |
we'll see about how arrogant matt is, depending on the vocal quality when The Crusade comes out. it will be obvious if he's had tuition.
and matt reminds me of hetfield at one point on Declaration.
that' not true. What do you mean by we'll see if he's arrogant? His arrogance is reflected in the fact that he won't admit that he's doing anything incorrectly, and the fact he refered to his own band as "Judas Priest on steroids."

Lol at the 'Priest comment. But yeah he didn't scream much at all when i saw them a few weeks ago. So it's evident he can barely scream. |
I believe he was referring to emo kids.
I believe I was responding in sarcasm. |

In case you haven't heard..
EIGHT OF rock's hottest bands have contributed to a special re-recording of Metallica's Master Of Puppets in celebration of the twentieth anniversary of the classic album's release. Remastered, which features exclusive recordings by Bullet For My Valentine, Trivium, Fightstar, Machine Head, Funeral For A Friend, Chimaira, Mastodon and Mendeed - will be given away free with Kerrang! issue 1102, which goes on sale April 5! "Master Of Puppets is a flawless, inspirational and hugely influential album - we're incredibly proud of Re-Mastered, which is the most exciting free CD in the magazine's history. Put simply, EVERY Kerrang! reader needs to hear this album." - Paul Brannigan, Kerrang! Editor "We're really happy with our version of Welcome Home (Sanitarium) and I'm sure when Lars and the guys hear it they'll think we've done them proud!" - Matt Tuck, Bullet For My Valentine "It's a real honour to be part of this. James Hetfield is one of the most inspirational players ever. He's the main reason I perform and I play the way I do." - Matt Heafy, Trivium "We we wanted our track to be as ****ing heavy as possible. I hope hardcore Metallica fans will like what we've done." - Charlie Simpson, Fightstar "It's awesome to think that some of you guys weren't even born when we recorded Master Of Puppets! We're honoured that it's a record that's perceived as a milestone and a record that's been so inspiring to so many people. We're as excited to hear this as you guys are!" - Lars Ulrich, Metallica, from his exclusive sleeve note Heafy's hetfield-esque vocals will return on their cover of "Master Of Puppets" http://www.kerrang.com/nav?page=kerrang.news.detail&fixture_news=4608084&resource=4608084 |
