Can anyone give me more details on his Teles? I'm acquiring one soon and am aiming for somewhere between Matt Bellamy, Johnny Greenwood and Mike Einziger.

What kind are you buying?

Sound Boy 11-06-2005 05:06 AM

i love the sound of the Jazzmaster but i think they're so damn ugly i'd never buy one..the next guitar i will purchase is the Jimmy Page Signature Gibson. but thats not gonna be anytime soon :(

Well, I still have to decide, that's why I'm asking. At the moment, the Aerodyne Tele seems pretty sweet, it's got the standard Tele bridge pup and a p90 in the neck. The HC reviews are glowing. I'd probably replace the bridge pup with a SD Quarter-Pounder if the thing's not fat enough, and the p90 with a SD Vintage p90 if I can't get the "right" tone (seeing as Bellamy uses a SD Hot p90).

Skyler 11-06-2005 10:12 AM
The one he uses on Agoraphobia looks like the Butterscotch Maple reissue, but I don't know the specs on it so I couldn't give you a definitive answer.
It's the one I described. Seen them play it live twice.

steinface 11-06-2005 11:29 AM

Dude, I love Incubus

Well I love my Telecaster and that sounds pretty sweet too so it's really up to you. Haha I use stock pickups and it even sounds great, I can only speculate what it sound like with those kind of improvements.

I meant like specific details about it. All I know is that it's yellow, most likely American, and downtuned.

Teles are ridiculously cheap nowadays. I agree with Idiot Martyr, grab a Mexican Standard. Or you could always splash out a little more for one of the "classic" series Teles - the 50's, 60's, 70's, '72 Deluxe and '72 Custom. I'd love the Deluxe.

enjoimx 11-08-2005 12:29 PM

I'm going to become a psychiatrist. In my state they make an average of about $124,000.

But I'm doing that because it's my passion, other than music of course.

mutant! 11-09-2005 12:58 AM

I'm going to get an honours degree in DSP. Bow down, mofo. :D

And then a degree in Advertising and Marketing. I don't know how much I'll be making but I can tell you there's gonna be hella jammings at my house.

sugar66 11-09-2005 01:29 AM

Incubus is one of the only recent mainstream rock acts that I really like. Morningview is one of the ultimate chill out album. Aqueous Transmission is one of my favorite songs.

I love you man.

I think they only achieved mainstream popularity post-Make Yourself. Anyone else agree?

Skyler 11-09-2005 08:10 AM

Yep. After Morning View came out, I noticed that their shows actually sold out and most of the new fans were girls.
