I will buy a running wild album soon

wouldn't it be the greatest thing ever if there was a ZOMBIE-PIRATE metal band!?
wow...

Steerpike 07-17-2005 01:31 PM
Steerpike is also wholly responsible for my recent and on-going (and expensive) love affair with Running Wild (have you any idea how many albums that band has made?)
They're pushing the 25th year anniversary now. Rolf is showing no signs of slowing down, either.

I noticed that I do tend to bankrupt people when I show them new music. Lucas is now determined to get Ozric Tentacles' whole discography. All 25 albums.

(imagines that for a minute)

... Dude... That would put me into geek-overdrive.

You ought to get them via Amazon; I only paid £6.80 for Black Hand Inn :)
but I did wait 3 weeks or so to get it. Anticipation always makes the receiving even sweeter tho'
Bruce is Toby's main influence. I think it's great that Edguy aren't afraid to wear their influences on their sleeves.

My dogged determination is paying off.

If anyone's interested, I'm thinking of uploading Lavatory Love Machine by Edguy. They're possibly the only power metal band that could write a song about the Mile High Club and make it sound good.
Thanks for Uploading it. i've been looking like mad for it and I can't find it.

Probably my favorite song off of Hellfire club too. (the video's good too)

Edguy is one of my favorite power metal bands alogn with Sonata Arctica and Helloween.

By the way, has anyone head Helloween's new song "Mrs. God"?
It's...Different.

Lord Abortion 07-17-2005 01:33 PM

zombies= my favourite subject
pirates= my second favourite subject
metal= my overall life
ah...

I've actually contemplated naming my band (when I actually form one in the future) The Holy Dragonmen in honor of Running Wild and that awesome album.

Kronos 07-17-2005 01:35 PM

Other untapped genres could include "Smuggler Metal", or "Highwayman Metal" or even "Monk Metal"......

It was only a few posts back.

No. Can you upload an mp3 of it?

Sabaton could be considered War Metal. Other power metal sub-genres worthy of contemplation:

Ninja/Samurai Metal
Racketeer Metal (like Al Capone)
Shaolin Metal
Desert Metal
Jungle Metal
Wild West Metal
Cyberpunk Metal

EDIT: Oops. Double-posted again. Please don't ban!

Hmm. I'll try, It's kinda Illegal-y since the single isnt out I have the song for some reason.

What do I use. Yousendit?

Steerpike 07-17-2005 01:39 PM
What do I use. Yousendit?
That works best.

As for it being illegal, technically the way we use YSI could be considered file-sharing, so it's not that different anyway.

not "Mr Deadhead" then?
only kidding. "The Brotherhood" would also be a cool name for a Running Wild-esque Pirate Metal band

Lord Abortion 07-17-2005 01:41 PM

Cool. It's good Unique Celtic Music. It wasn't quite what I thought it'd be, I was thinking a little more metal influenced. But I like the song neverless

I've been trying to find some of their stuff, but have turned up empty.

For some reason, YSI won't let me play ball with dowloading. It lets me upload fine, though.

Might be because they appear to be named after a crap town in Southern England

Yeah, their stuff is hard to get but fanboys (ME) always have their way. They used to have songs available for download in their site but not anymore :(. You're missing an incredible band Mr Steerpike, in a fair world they would be supporting bands like dio and maiden. Maybe I could upload some tracks (again!) on megaupload if my computer doesnt crash (again!).

All their albums are class. Get whichever you can find. The song you heard is off Traveller, their most "experimental" let us say release with less folk influence.

EDIT
Might be because they appear to be named after a crap town in Southern England
I didnt know there was a town named like this. Their full name used to be (until this year) The Lord Weird Slough Feg and they were named after a chatacter in ancient irish mythology

shadow_stalker 07-17-2005 02:48 PM

I will put traveller in my 'to get' list.

Stoic 07-17-2005 02:50 PM

Good luck finding it :thumb:

Lord Abortion 07-17-2005 02:58 PM

Slough the town= crap it's where "the office" is set...

Stoic 07-17-2005 03:00 PM

It's regarded in England as one of the archetypal awful, drab, unwaveringly dreary post-war expansion type towns that have no character and no redeeming features of interest. Along with Welwyn Garden City, Milton Keynes, Newport Pagnell and a few others that are too dull to even dignify with with a mention.
Unrelenting mediocrity.
