for me this would represent the society we're living in ... |
I can't wait to see these guys this summer on the Unholy Alliance tour. It's not until June but I'm already getting excited for it.

 slipknot?! well,... hm... **** |
lol yes didnt u know that
|
no, i only knew that they have numbers instead of names, but i haven't known that they even had barcodes ... i am not a slipknot fan :p the only song i ever liked was "Wait and Bleed" and this song is ... wow... i just love it...
/me plays it and headbangs :D |
ive liked slipknot for years theyre what got me into metal ahhh Left Behind i can still remember seeing the video for the first time, yeah im pretty sure they have the barcode on ever cd case idk but i do know that they have there own and they bought it or something so noone else is ever allowed to use the same numbers and such
|
Slipknot aren't my favorite band, but they have some pretty good songs. Especially off the last album.
|
i never listened to slipknot... i like only this one song "wait and bleed". i don't like the other songs by them. i'm not interested into slipknot.
what got me into metal was "Freak on a Leash" by Korn and their album "Issues" (the album "Follow the Leader" with the song "Freak on a Leash" i got some 1-2 years ago). The next step was Metallica through their MI2 video "I Dissapear" ... i watched the whole day only MTV only to see the video :D i loved it. CoB - Needled 24/7 got me into the "real" metal... harder stuff like Nile, Behemoth, Dark Tranquillity ... this was october 2004 |
What got me into metal was Zeppelin, Sabbath and Metallica. It all started after my cousin got me into classic rock about 6 years ago. I then started getting into Nu-Metal, punk and thrash. Then I just kept digging deeper and now I listen to bands like:
Dream theater CoB Nile Kalmah nevermore Megadeth Slayer Dream theater Porcupine Tree Symphony x and so on |
i nvr really got into korn i mean i listened to there stuff but nvr got into them,p.o.d was ok i guess but i mostly just listened to slipknot for a while then um soad and static-x ,distubed, until i had to get rid of all of them
|
I still listen to some Nu-Metal on occasion.
|
i dont understand the term nu-metal especially with slipknot,i think they are metal,i mean there old stuff may have been what all u ppl call "nu-metal" but there stuff now is metal.
|

Their older stuff was more Nu-Metal then it is now. They were never the most nu-metalish band out there. That would probably go to Limp Bizkit or Korn. They got bunched into that group because of the down tuned guitar and angsty lyrics. Their last album shouws that they are moving away from that though. |
Yeah exactly it sounds different than anything theyve had that ive heard, but i do have to say that Iowa is my favorite album by them
|

lol. There you go again Mandy with your slipknot stuff. :p Iowa is one of the worst albums I've heard. 100% serious. Every single song sounds the exact same. S/T is rather annoying. M.F.K.R. is good. I enjoy the jazz breaks in that and it's sound. Vol:3 The Subliminal Verses=great.... Basically the whole album is great. |
I used to worship Slipknot. Iowa was my favorite album in the entire world. Needless to say my taste has changed, but I still enjoy Vol.3.
|
I've never even listened to them more than twice.
|

At one point I almost liked them, but then they created the mass of quivering feces that is Before I Forget.

I never said or thought that. I didn't say your "not allowed" to like Iowa, I just said IMO it's junk because the whole album sounds 100% the same. |
Anyone else think COB's new album was horrible compared to older stuff? Just repititive drop C chords with the each identical shred solo on each track.

No and what you said there is patheticly inaccurate. AYDY is great. Each song is something different and good. There are plenty of sweet riffs/solos. Nice keys, drumming and bass. GTFO |
do you think bodom will play at download? arch enemy and cradle are playin, metallica aswell, i just really hope bodom play
What is this Download you speak of? I'd kill, literally kill, to see CoB, Arch Enemy and Metallica playing at one venue. Cradle is okay, but to see CoB and Arch Enemy at one show? I'd bust in my pants within 5 minutes... |
as far as i know download is a festival somewhere in england... but i'm not sure
|
i just downloaded CoB - live in Seoul ... i watched the first 15minutes and afterwards the video file is corrupted  i'm sooooo pissed off....Grrrrrr ... f***

GTFO
Compare the best song of Are You Dead Yet with Kissing the Shadows or Downfall. Thats what I meant. It fell short of being anywhere close to having great songs like those. |
I've seen Bodom live in Seoul. It's pretty good, a few of the songs from it are on Bearshare on their own, Hate Me, Kissing the Shadows, Warheart.
Download Festival is in UK yes. |
Gah, England, England dammit.
/ hates generalisation of 'UK' |
Gah, England, England dammit.
/ hates generalisation of 'UK'
well, you kinda have to understand both sides of the coin. We cant discern the different countries, and instead of being completely wrong, we just lump em together. Thats like me asking you "wheres new hampshire in the US?" who the fuk cares |
