BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-29-2004 08:18 PM

I am very good at slide
I dont like the dogs barking in Seamus
I have a harmonica but I cant play it

thickasabrick 11-29-2004 08:19 PM

meddle is very underrated. if there wasnt the dog howling on Seamus, i would consider it definitely top three for best Floyd albums.

One of These Days is amazing, San Tropez is the catchiest song i have ever heard, and whatever i say, it still wont do Echoes justice.

well i still consider it top three whether the dog is howling or not. i listened to that album today...simply magnificant.

I love One of These Days. The double bass echo effect is amazing. I couldn't believe that song the first time I heard it. And its good for a "high" song. I can put it on the record player too, cause I have a Meddle vinyl (but thats the only floyd one).

EDIT: ^^ excellently said.

i have that as well as DSOTM and The Wall on vinyl. for some reason DSOTM is so scratched up i cant really listen to it though, so i listen to the cd. And The Wall gets annoying if you wanna get high/just relax to it, because you have to constantly be getting up and turning over the record. (well i suppose only four times)

lunch998 11-29-2004 08:23 PM

One of These Days is one of the best album openers in my opinion.

Broken Arrow 11-29-2004 08:24 PM

Thats why I recently bought it on CD:smoke:

I have iot on viynl.

EDIT-As in the Wall

oh definitely, the first time i heard it i was blown away.

and i hate doing this to you guys since this is the classic rock forum, but what are some popular songs by Creed. One of my students asked me to teach a Creed song to her, and i dont remember the name. i know it was one of their more popular ones. i don't think this is really worth starting a new thread about so i apoligize for putting it in here.

MalcolmYoungRock 11-29-2004 08:26 PM

I want a slide, just the sound of it is really cool.

magicbus 11-29-2004 08:28 PM

With Arms Wide Open and Higher are the two popular ones I remember. Hope that helps.

And the slide I got is a Dunlop one for 5 bucks. Its worth it just to buy it and fool around until you get the hang of it.

thats cool. my dad had about fifty records, but he was more into the seventies pop stuff (not that it sucks). so i ended up with a lot of Trooper, Sweet and Boston. they are great bands, but at the time (and still now) i was more into psychadelicish stuff, blues, and bluegrass.

my slide was a dunlop too! i don't feel the need to spend more money and buy a really good one, so i will probably have this one for a long time.

My Dad has just about everything, I would say a total of 400.

Zeppelin to Iron Maiden to Quicksilver Messanger Service:cool:

lunch998 11-29-2004 08:36 PM

My Dad has about 50, but it's all the awesome late 60's psychadelic stuff, so I can't wait.

magicbus 11-29-2004 08:38 PM

My dad probably has about 200-300. Lots of Skynyrd, Eagles, Jeff Beck, Santana, and Yes. Then lots of other stuff too. :thumb:

Cant wait for what?

Woodstock 11-29-2004 08:39 PM

I might be gettin me an Epiphone Les Paul or A Fat Strat. Either way, it's my first electric, and I've been playing acoustic for a year.

how much for each? i've been playing electric for 3 years now, and i have a epi Black Beauty 3. it just like a regular les paul, but it has 3 humbuckers. i bought it because they all make totally different sounds. the neck can sound like an acoustic, the middle has a nice twangy type of sound, the the bridge can basically cut through anything. unless you have your heart set on that Fat Strat, or they are about the same amount of money, i would go with the epi.

I'm pretty sure he's going to give them to me soon, not when he dies. Otherwise I wouldn't be looking forward to it.

I feel like Im the only one who started off with nothing but a pile of blanke CDs. Anyone else start with 0?

The Epi is $500 and the Fat Strat is $400. I like the range of the Strat, but also the awesomeness of the Les Paul.
