PAJJ 08-30-2006 03:54 PM

i was instantly impressed i really love it from where the double up or whatever they do and go

"left to all our golden suns
all to pick up on the peace......etc"

a serious trouser changing moment

Quiksilver26 08-30-2006 03:55 PM

Can't wait to see most (if not all) of these songs live. I can only imagine them being even better than on the album, if tis possible.

Surtr 08-30-2006 03:57 PM

Stop talking about seeing them live :( It makes me sad.

PAJJ 08-30-2006 03:59 PM

sorry dude close you eyes
Can't wait to see most (if not all) of these songs live. I can only imagine them being even better than on the album, if tis possible.
Surtr 08-30-2006 04:01 PM

Hopefully I'm going to get to see A Matter Of Life And Death Tour DvD :)

T'will be utter pwnage :chug:

Kyle 08-30-2006 05:28 PM

So I never really listen to Maiden, I only own one album (Piece of Mind) which I dig upon occasion, but I downloaded the new album out of curiosity. I have to say it's been a really excellent listen, it's good that these guys can still make music of this calibre after so long in the business.

hellrider 08-30-2006 05:30 PM

ordering matter of life and death tomorrow i hope it is as good as you lot say it is

Surtr 08-30-2006 05:30 PM

Oh yeah for sure. I don't think there's another band out there that could still be making music this ace.

26 years and they're only getting better.

hellrider 08-30-2006 05:36 PM

ummm yer there can judas priest for one

JamJar 08-30-2006 05:38 PM

A 'kin Men

The new album is so good it's unbelievable.

the_uber_penguin 08-30-2006 07:03 PM

Out Of The Shadows reminds me a lot of Tears Of The Dragon/Wasting Love.

I'm deadly impressed: no skip tracks either.

Surtr 08-30-2006 09:00 PM

That's what I thought too. I was like..It sounds like Maiden meets Bruce's Solo stuff.

And there aren't any skip tracks.

Quiksilver26 08-30-2006 09:28 PM

NP: The Legacy \m/

Surtr 08-30-2006 09:57 PM

Haha.

NP: Ghost Of The Navigator.

I decided it's best if I stop listening to the album as much, so I don't overplay it. But I still couldn't change from Maiden.

lionelhutz88 08-31-2006 12:33 AM

Im really loving the whoa part in These Colours dont Run. It makes me want to sing along every time.

Lord Abortion 08-31-2006 03:16 AM
ummm yer there can judas priest for one
Actually, no.
Angel of Retribution had a few quality tracks on it, but it was nowhere near as good as Screaming for Vengance, Painkiller or British Steel.
A matter of life and Death is one of Maiden's best albums.

-The Frank 08-31-2006 03:41 AM

I still havent heard the new album :(:(:(

Apocalyptic Raids 08-31-2006 04:27 AM

I got the new album, it's better than I expected.

3/5

JamJar 08-31-2006 05:00 AM

I'd probably give the album a solid 4.5. Very good stuff but I wouldn't say it's their best (although it's very high on the list.)

MrConeman 08-31-2006 08:56 AM
Im really loving the whoa part in These Colours dont Run. It makes me want to sing along every time.
Hell yes. Thats my thoughts exactly, this album is amazing I can't wait to see some of it live in December :)

"For the passion, for the glory, for the memories, for the money, your a soldier, for your country, whats the difference, all the same"
That part is so damn good.

pate 08-31-2006 09:24 AM

I'm still not ready to give it a rating, because right now it would be 5/5. After another several more listens I'll do it.

Surtr 08-31-2006 10:11 AM

JamJar 08-31-2006 12:24 PM

I really can't get enough of Brighter Than A Thousand Suns. Definitely my favourite on the album at the moment.

yeah that song kiks ***

lionelhutz88 08-31-2006 01:10 PM

My favorite at this point is either TROBB, Brighter than A Thousand Suns, or These Colours Dont Run. They change every day though.

crag 08-31-2006 01:59 PM

I really can't decide on a favourite, every song is just fantastic. I'd say at the moment TCDR is my favourite though :)

pate 08-31-2006 02:48 PM

My favorites are TROBB, BTATS, and For the Greater Good of God.

Quiksilver26 08-31-2006 03:18 PM

I don't remember if i've posted this before or not... (i think i have though) but I love The Legacy, it's just so epic. Actuallly, Longest Day too.. and For The Greater Good of God. Actually I just realized I can't just listen to a single song from the album, it always ends up in me listening to the entire thing .

pate 08-31-2006 03:41 PM

Damnit, I left out the Longest Day. I always leave out something when making a quick list.

JamJar 08-31-2006 03:42 PM

I'm becoming obsessed with this album. I've only listened to one other thing all week. My favourite songs on it keep changing.

broken_ 08-31-2006 03:42 PM

ObviousEnigma 08-31-2006 04:01 PM

Unless they release another Virtual XI. Then I would be very dissapointed. But yeah, I can't see them making another album as bad as VXI.
anyone else have floor tickets to the toronto show ?
Fuck dude! The person in line right infront of me got the last of them!!! I'm not that angry though, ended up getting seats right by the stage in the first row, without losing all my money :D

Just out of curiosity how much was yours?

PepsiMetal 08-31-2006 07:36 PM

Holy crap this album is amazing. Not all songs have grown on me, but they're going to soon, and fast probably.

lionelhutz88 08-31-2006 09:41 PM

I really hope it sells well. Those guys deserve it for making such a good record. I wonder if Sharon Osbourne has heard it yet??

Lord Abortion 09-01-2006 02:40 AM

The longest day is probably my favourite on there now, it's so urgent and desperate.
Although my favourite moment on the album is that riff at 1:42 on Lord of Light.

rik 09-01-2006 10:05 AM

'The Pilgrim' and 'For the Greater Good of God' are my favourite so far.
