DDD 12-07-2005 02:52 PM

How bout: Ghost of, Flight of, Judas be, clansman. And what's the deal with still life played backwards.

Josh 12-07-2005 02:55 PM

the random voice at the start of Still Life was Nicko saying "don't mess with things you don't understand" when he was drunk, played backwards. i think that's it anyway. someone accused maiden of being satanics, so Nicko "defended" them :p

GenuineImitation 12-07-2005 02:58 PM

I have no idea why I dont post in here more often. I like Maiden a lot and my enjoyment of their music steadily increases everyday.

I just got "Death on the Road" and the production on the cd is amazing. It sounds like Im right there.

Josh 12-07-2005 02:59 PM

i don't like how all of Bruce's random ramblings have been cut off the cd, i like listening to them.

GenuineImitation 12-07-2005 03:02 PM

Thats the only down point, but the rest of the cd is kick ass.

NP: Fear of the Dark (live version)

Aye, I remember the rant he gave about Rod coming back from Paris to come to Sheffield (Yorkshire? Geddit?) for that gig, that lead to the crowd chanting 'Yorkshire, Yorkshire', It was great!

Josh 12-07-2005 04:08 PM

personally i don't like Can i play with madness, it sounds as though bruce is singing "can i play with addness" IMO. but it was great seeing them that tour. and the one after :p

Deth 12-07-2005 08:15 PM

I listened to DOTR, and the first disc is fantastic, the second has a been there, done that thing.

Journeyman live is incredible though.

It's the same with RiR, with a few exceptions like Dream of Mirrors and the Clansman...

IF you think thats amazing go buy Live after death :chug:
OOOOHHHH didn't notice that. I'll hit it soon, I don't spam as much as I used to, so it may take a while.

Anyway, anyone heard Sonata Arcticas version of die with your boots on?

It's interesting
I have it, their version isnt that bad, still maiden do it better :thumb:

Lord Abortion 12-08-2005 05:02 AM

I like the guitar tone on the Lord of the flies DOTR version.
It's quite rough, especially the opening riff.

I like everything except for the oppening riff of lord of the flies......

That crazy Janick with his rougness...

vashts80 12-09-2005 12:20 AM
He just can't sing.
I disagree, I love the "roughness" of Steve's backing vocals :P

Iron Maiden! See the blood flow! Iron Maiden!

Run tooo daaa hiwls

If you turn up the album version of Paschendale loud enough you can hear him in the "The bodies of our and our foes..." bit.

I think his voice has some fantastic textures to it.

Yeah I noticed that, though I reckon it's Adrian and Steve 'trying' to harmonise or something...

Apocalyptic Raids 12-09-2005 04:57 AM

I don't really like Death On The Road. I hate those extremely clean sounding live albums.

Give me Live After Death anyday.

ashman 12-09-2005 06:40 AM

I still think RiR was the pinnacle of live albums.

Deth 12-09-2005 06:53 AM

Bruce should stay far away from Lord Of The Flies.

Auronthewarrior 12-09-2005 07:55 AM

is iron maiden considered a hair metal band?

Apocalyptic Raids 12-09-2005 07:56 AM

No.

King_Of_Terrors 12-09-2005 07:58 AM

Bruce does get tired after 10 or so songs, but they still own live.

Apocalyptic Raids 12-09-2005 08:00 AM

I badly want to see them live.

They don't look to be coming my way anytime soon though :(

Darn you europeans!

GenuineImitation 12-09-2005 10:10 AM

I was really dissapointed when I got to Run to the Hills. Bruce couldnt hit many of the notes.

he's still a ton better than the majority of singers out there though:)
