Johnny B. Good 01-11-2005 09:13 PM

as good as Skynyrd?

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-11-2005 09:18 PM
Anyone here into Marshall Tucker Band? Livewired said he'd never heard of them :O
Their first two albums are really great but that's about it. Not too groundbreaking but I still think they're a little too underrated.

And is anyone into lesser known classic rock bands like the Flying Burrito Brothers or Commander Cody?
Skynyrd suck dude. I like the Flying Burrito Brothers I have their GH.

LedZeppelin173 01-11-2005 09:28 PM

does anybody here like Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band? i like them, pretty good classic rock....

Badmoon 01-11-2005 09:30 PM

^Yeah, I like most of his stuff.

And Skynyrd don't suck. I actually really like their sound.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-11-2005 09:34 PM

I have a few Seger albums so yes.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-11-2005 09:56 PM

What is Neil Young's best album?

magicbus 01-11-2005 09:58 PM

I don't like Bob Seger. His music is about as plain as it comes to me, and he rhymes the same words together.

Illmatic 01-11-2005 10:00 PM

I'd say the self-titled Buffalo Springfield album, if that counts.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-11-2005 10:07 PM

How about After the Gold Rush and Harvest?

Illmatic 01-11-2005 10:08 PM

Haven't heard 'em.

jpj 01-12-2005 07:46 AM

Out the ones I've heard I'd have to sat Everyone Knows This Is Nowhere is his best.

STP 01-12-2005 09:28 AM

Queen should have tapped Marilyn Manson to sing instead of Bad Co.`s singer for the reunion.
It fits. ;)

Lee Harvey Castro 01-12-2005 09:41 AM

Have King Crimson been mentioned yet? I've been listening to In the court of the crimson king alot recently and I have to say it's the best prog album I've heard yet, any thoughts?
Have King Crimson been mentioned yet? I've been listening to In the court of the crimson king alot recently and I have to say it's the best prog album I've heard yet, any thoughts?
ya we've talked about King Crimson before. They are a good band, unfortunately I don't know enough about them to actually have real discussion about them.

and my favourite Neil Young albums are Everybody Knows This is Nowhere, and Harvest. and that doesn't include any of the other bands he's been in, just him and crazyhorse.

magicbus 01-12-2005 01:19 PM

I was about to put in Court of the Crimson King last night, but instead I listened to The Band. Oh well!

jpj 01-12-2005 01:34 PM

I watched The Last Waltz, it's so good :D

magicbus 01-12-2005 01:35 PM

I have to watch it again soon. But I've been watching the Crossroads Festival a lot too.

Rasta Rocker 01-12-2005 01:38 PM

Off Topic....but Boondock Saints is one of the greatest movies ever

Court Of Crimson King is great, but i think Starless and Bible Black is better.

Im with this guy. Starless is better.
Court Of Crimson King is great, but i think Starless and Bible Black is better.
Those are King Crimson albums? I've never heard anything except one song, so i'm thinking of looking into more good songs so and hopefully get an album or two. what would anyone suggest for songs/albums?

Against Miik! 01-12-2005 04:17 PM
I watched The Last Waltz, it's so good :D
I couldn't really get into it because, well, I don't really like The Band.

Against Miik! 01-12-2005 04:30 PM

But I do like Bob Dylan. New favorite song is "Don't Think Twice It's Alright". Find it, Listen to it, Enjoy it.

thickasabrick 01-12-2005 04:33 PM

man that is Dylans best song! i'm repping the hell out of you every chance i get now.

actually i discovered that song over christmas holidays...and i've probably listened to it like five times a day since then. usually i listen to a song then store it away for a long time cuz i get bored of songs pretty easily.

i love the fingerpicking, although you can hear a few mistakes, we will forgive him for being so amazing.

I don't mind the mistakes. It gives it a stripped down kinda feeling.

or simple plans singer.
I don't mind the mistakes. It gives it a stripped down kinda feeling.
that's the whole feeling of that album...that's why it's my second fave. that album shows every aspect of songwriting Dylan has to offer...and he does a great job of it.

Blood on the Tracks is my favourite though.

Woodstock 01-12-2005 04:39 PM
How about After the Gold Rush and Harvest?
Mine are Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere and After The Goldrush.

thickasabrick 01-12-2005 04:43 PM

After the Goldrush (i'm talking about the song) is amazing. I learned it on guitar but i can't make it sound exactly like the piano, too much stuff going on.

thickasabrick 01-12-2005 04:45 PM
Queen should have tapped Marilyn Manson to sing instead of Bad Co.`s singer for the reunion.

I think Bad Co's singer would do a great job, but i think the singer from Foreigner would sound even better.

Against Miik! 01-12-2005 04:54 PM

I think nobody sounds like Freddy and they shouldn't have a reunion. It's like the Doors without Morrison, or (sorry) Nirvana without Cobain. Unless they are doing it for money, it's a bad idea.

thickasabrick 01-12-2005 05:04 PM

Are they still calling themselves Queen? Because if so, that's just wrong. They should change their name.

If they still want to tour together, they should form a new band and start a new fanbase. If people want to see them play, they can go, but some people will just go "to see Queen", they don't care about the actual musicians. It isn't the same without Freddy.

they should have come up with a new name, cause without freddy there is no queen. ill still try and get tickets though, cause john deacon and brian may kick ***.

gmoneyguy 01-12-2005 07:27 PM

Do any of you guys get Channel 1 at school?

jpj 01-12-2005 07:29 PM

Yea, we watch it every day in homeroom.

BludgeonySteve 01-12-2005 07:29 PM

Queen without Freddie is like a polar bear without its sword...

which is very wrong.

Johnny B. Good 01-12-2005 07:30 PM

Lou Graham(Foreignor singer) does kind of sound like Freddy
Yea, we watch it every day in homeroom.
Did you hear them play The Rain Song yesterday?

jpj 01-12-2005 07:31 PM

I didn't know polar bears carried swords, unless by polar bears you mean power metal bands

I'd go see Queen without Freddie, it certainly wouldn't be as good, but I still think it'd be awesome.

jpj 01-12-2005 07:31 PM
Do you hear them play The Rain Song yesterday?
Why yes, yes I did.
