No, he just knew that he couldn't argue with Lars because Lars wont let it go no matter how wrong he is.
No, he just knew that he couldn't argue with Lars because Lars wont let it go no matter how wrong he is.
Yeah that was pretty stupid what lars said... he didn't want them because it wasn't a "trend" any more..... wtf?

willis2441 02-23-2005 02:58 PM

to all you people out there who like to listen to music while yer online i recommend putin in a juke box player so you can just copy your fav songs from your fav cds and put them in your library and just play whatever you have,i just recently did this, its free and its great, the one i have is musicmatch but you could put in windows juke box or somethin diffrent, but i really recommend this!

CreepingDeath~ 02-23-2005 03:00 PM

Yeah, I have iTunes, and it does work well, but there aren't that many people that I know of that doesn't have some music thing on their computer....

munky_magik 02-23-2005 03:08 PM
man now there is absoloutely no way i will get that album if it has no solos.
If you people set such a score by solos then go and listen to a band that do solos and quit complaining that Metallica don't.

_xxBLACKENEDxx_ 02-23-2005 03:14 PM
i live in rockford Illinois they play the unforgiven like its no tomorow
No way man i live in Peoria, and i am always in rockford.

So you base music off solos? You're missing out on alot of good stuff then, solos enhance a song, yes, but it doesnt necesarily make it a goodsong.

btoto 02-23-2005 03:28 PM
is cliff playin bass in that pic?
Yeah, that's Cliff

And the guitar player is I guess the guy from Metal Church

BTW, solos are the little thingies that make your balls dance

Thor 02-23-2005 03:38 PM

Has anyone heard the Pantera cover of Seek and Destroy? I listened to it yesterday and thought that it was pretty sweet. Jason Newstead was in it too.

Joe 02-23-2005 03:52 PM
No, he just knew that he couldn't argue with Lars because Lars wont let it go no matter how wrong he is.
Lars, for some unknown reason, was PMSing along with James for a couple of months. Why they had solos for 20 years and then stopped? I don't know. All I remember is that St Anger was pretty awesome live. The cd is really full of great riffs, it's just that there aren't any solos.

Sounds like it would be amazing. I refuse to listen to any Sum 41 covers of Metallica, just because I don't wanna hear if they ruined it. Now Pantera is a true metal band, so I think theirs would be better

****, I could identify you by your avatar.
However, also the fact you are one of only a few people I know who use full punctuation etc. It was pretty easy to identify you :P

munky you changed your avatar!i miss mr.flibble lol

munky_magik 02-23-2005 04:42 PM

I got bored of Mr Flibble, so Now I have a Discworld orientated avatar + usertitle.

Chu: A small tip. If you use a small 'p' then the :p face actually works... :p

lightningmetal666 02-23-2005 04:44 PM

I know for a fact that the full aim of a solo is to tell a story
within a story. Like a side plot that still relates to the main
one. If u don't want to put one in a song or two, that's cool
but it adds a lot more interest to a song. I think that Lars
is goin' kinda 'do everything different' crazy. Why
'reinvent the wheel' if u don't have to?

Thanx Chu, I just sometimes wonder what exactly Lars is attempting
to achieve in all this no solo business.

he wanted to make metallicas sound new and experimental,so therefore the dumbas$ took solos out of their songs, made pretty much all the riffs in drop d,and did rimshots.it did not turn out very well, and we all flame him for it now!

lightningmetal666 02-23-2005 04:57 PM

I'm none to happy about the crap he's pullin' either. Why
throw out something that helps make your band great
for something that doesn't? That's like trading $100
for $1.

Don't get me wrong I do like writing riffs in drop D, and can come
up w/ some good ones, but if there was any need for variety
and difference in St. Anger, it was alternating between
the tunings. Like they did on MOP (ex. the thing that should
not be)

Yeah pretty true. I dont like what they are doing either. I try not to focus on what they are doing now and try to live the 80s again. Those were the good days for Metallica.

lightningmetal666 02-23-2005 05:10 PM

Hey does anyone have the some kind of monster cd?
I'm not sure if it's a single or if it's the soundtrack to the movie.

2.damage inc (live in paris)
3.motorbreath (live in paris)
4.leper messiah (live in paris)
5.the four horsemen (live in paris)
6.hit the lights (live in paris)
7.Ride the Lightning (live in paris, james forgets the 3rd verse LOL)
8.some kind of monster (edit version)

edit: the orders alright except for:
