Muse - Black Holes and Revelations

Excluding "Starlight", this is pretty sucky.

The Jungler 10-11-2006 03:41 PM

I've been listening to Sigur Ros's Agaetis Byrjun a whole lot lately. Fantastic CD.

mr_jackalope 10-11-2006 03:45 PM

I'm considering taking back a lot of what I've previously said about Destroyer. Turns out, these guys are pretty decent on third or so listen. I've listened to Rubies, Notorious Lightning and Other Works, and now Streethawk: A Seduction today and sort of see what everyone was talking about. But not quite.

PECOAE 10-11-2006 05:20 PM

I've only heard Rubies and his New Pornographers stuff but I really like it.

mr_jackalope 10-11-2006 06:24 PM

Thing is, I can't stand the P0rnos, but this stuff is pretty cool. I like the EP he did with Frog Eyes a lot.

BillCosby 10-11-2006 06:30 PM

Electrelane - The Power Out
Okkervil River - Down the River of Golden Dreams

Zebra 10-13-2006 07:29 AM

Sparkelhorse - Vivadixiessubmarinetransmissionplot

I never realized why this band received so little recognition. This album is fantastic.

mr_jackalope 10-13-2006 07:49 AM

Sparklehorse is utterly fantastic. Good Morning Spider is one of my favorite albums.

mr_jackalope 10-13-2006 07:50 AM

Their new one is sort of weak though. Guy basically needed money to cover his heroin addiction, so it's understandable, but still.

Zebra 10-13-2006 04:07 PM

Yeah, their new album is a bunch of re-hashed ideas from their eariler works, but it's still pretty good stuff.

pixiesfanyo 10-13-2006 04:10 PM

Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist

AlienEater 10-13-2006 04:55 PM

Made Out Of Babies - Coward

Happymeal 10-13-2006 08:06 PM

"Beware" would've been a better choice for a first single.

Robert Crumb 10-13-2006 08:34 PM

Man, leaks. I can't even keep up.

Listened to Richard & Linda Thompson's I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight today while I did stuff. Never really saw much in the album (aside from the awesomeness that is the title track) until today. Very pleasing listen.

Happymeal 10-13-2006 10:00 PM

Hot Water Music - Caution

Haven't played this in a while. I never really appreciated most of their earlier material but this one hits the spot.

mr_jackalope 10-13-2006 10:17 PM

I'm listening to The Oxford Collapse's Remember the Night Parties again because this is definitely one of the better rock records I've heard this year.

Eliminator 10-13-2006 10:22 PM

The Skatalites - Foundation Ska

Robert Crumb 10-14-2006 12:21 AM

Ying Yang Twins' "Dangerous."

Um. Song's pretty awesome. Features Wyclef. Has this been playing on the radio? I guess it's been on the net for like a month. Should pay more attention.

mr_jackalope 10-14-2006 01:20 AM

Most recently:

British Sea Power - Open Season: still not as good as the debut, but oh well
Joy Division - Closer: haven't listened to this one in an extremely long time; I think I'm gonna be on a JD kick for a while now

Little Man being Erased 10-14-2006 02:05 AM

XTC - Drums and Wires
The Rapture - Echoes
Elvis Costello - My Aim is True

Glitterati 10-14-2006 10:31 AM

Echo & The Bunnymen - Heaven Up Here

Good post punk, if you like the cure you might like them. bits of psychedelia in there too.

mr_jackalope 10-14-2006 10:50 AM

I'm a huge Echo fan, personally. Ocean Rain is one of the better albums I've heard.
