Miranda July - 10 Million Hours A Mile
This is really odd/funny. I love Miranda July. |

hahah |
I've been listening to Sigur Ros's Agaetis Byrjun a whole lot lately. Fantastic CD.
|
I'm considering taking back a lot of what I've previously said about Destroyer. Turns out, these guys are pretty decent on third or so listen. I've listened to Rubies, Notorious Lightning and Other Works, and now Streethawk: A Seduction today and sort of see what everyone was talking about. But not quite.
|
I've only heard Rubies and his New Pornographers stuff but I really like it.
|
Thing is, I can't stand the P0rnos, but this stuff is pretty cool. I like the EP he did with Frog Eyes a lot.
|
went to Amoeba in San Fran yesterday and got
Pharrell - In My Mind meh Notorious B.I.G. - Ready to Die sweet they were cheap though |
Yea, it blows.

Television.
|
Electrelane - The Power Out
Okkervil River - Down the River of Golden Dreams |
Sparkelhorse - Vivadixiessubmarinetransmissionplot
I never realized why this band received so little recognition. This album is fantastic. |
Sparklehorse is utterly fantastic. Good Morning Spider is one of my favorite albums.
|
Their new one is sort of weak though. Guy basically needed money to cover his heroin addiction, so it's understandable, but still.
|
Yeah, their new album is a bunch of re-hashed ideas from their eariler works, but it's still pretty good stuff.
|
Deftones - Saturday Night Wrist
|
Made Out Of Babies - Coward
|
"Beware" would've been a better choice for a first single.
|
Man, leaks. I can't even keep up.
Listened to Richard & Linda Thompson's I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight today while I did stuff. Never really saw much in the album (aside from the awesomeness that is the title track) until today. Very pleasing listen. |
Hot Water Music - Caution
Haven't played this in a while. I never really appreciated most of their earlier material but this one hits the spot. |
I'm listening to The Oxford Collapse's Remember the Night Parties again because this is definitely one of the better rock records I've heard this year.
|
The Skatalites - Foundation Ska
|
Ying Yang Twins' "Dangerous."
Um. Song's pretty awesome. Features Wyclef. Has this been playing on the radio? I guess it's been on the net for like a month. Should pay more attention. |
Most recently:
British Sea Power - Open Season: still not as good as the debut, but oh well Joy Division - Closer: haven't listened to this one in an extremely long time; I think I'm gonna be on a JD kick for a while now |
XTC - Drums and Wires
The Rapture - Echoes Elvis Costello - My Aim is True |
Echo & The Bunnymen - Heaven Up Here
Good post punk, if you like the cure you might like them. bits of psychedelia in there too. |
I'm a huge Echo fan, personally. Ocean Rain is one of the better albums I've heard.
