Well, glam rock was a big influence on hair metal overall, but the genres don't sound that much alike (compare T.Rex to Poison, for instance)

Illmatic 01-10-2005 10:02 PM

I think Dre could pull of a convincing Hendrix.

Johnny B. Good 01-10-2005 10:04 PM

bur Andre looks just like him except without the fro

Badmoon 01-10-2005 10:06 PM

I'm more interested in the upcoming Johnny Cash movie. I think Joaquein Phoenix.

BludgeonySteve 01-10-2005 10:21 PM
Probably "Sugar Magnolia".
:thumb:. That's one hell of a song.
I would be one of the teenagers that love classic rock.........ACDC, Led Zeppelin, the stones, jimi, bad company, the doors,

He could easily grow one :). Man, he's a good singer, if there was a singing part, he could do that.

*Random*Jimi is a very underrated singer

he is but people are probably to stunned by his guitar work to care about his voacals

ATM 01-10-2005 11:13 PM

What did you guys think of the Neil Young movie? My dad rented it last night.

Creedence Clearwater 01-11-2005 06:07 AM

Aaarhh, it the wrong time of the day and no one is there.

/

Spectrum 01-11-2005 08:55 AM

Yeah, Creedence, I hate it when I'm on when nobody else is...

...like now...

And now for something completely different.

I think a Hendrix movie could be good. It's something I personally might see.

And now for something else completely different.

I haven't seen the band Yes mentioned much around here, at least not that I've seen. And I've been on a bit of a Yes kick lately, as I recently got the 35th Anniversary Ultimate Yes CD set. SO GOOD!

What are other opinions of this crazy art-rock band?

Woodstock 01-11-2005 09:12 AM

I wouldn't want to see a Hendrix movie without his songs. That would be pretty idiotic. I'm glad that Al still has respect for his dead son's music.

Spectrum 01-11-2005 09:28 AM

An intersting point. A Hendrix movie with out his music in it? Bah! Not so good.

The idea of a Hendrix movie still intersts me, though.

thickasabrick 01-11-2005 10:49 AM

I would watch a Hendrix movie without his music in it...he's still an interesting guy. They desperately need to make a Bob Dylan movie. It would be amazing. Has there been any made before (except for live footage and interviews etc)?

gmoneyguy 01-11-2005 10:53 AM

Have you seen him interviews? Its obvious the man has done his share of drugs.

Spectrum 01-11-2005 01:28 PM

Yeh, just the advertisement for the interview was enough to know that he's had his share.

Y'know who's had more, though? Keith Richards. In fact, there are no drugs left in Britain, because he's taken them all! How is that man not dead?

lunch998 01-11-2005 01:49 PM
Have you seen him interviews? Its obvious the man has done his share of drugs.
I think he's done my share too.

Broken Arrow 01-11-2005 03:31 PM
I think he's done my share too.
And my share too!:(

Anyways....I would see the Hendrix movie his songs or not.

Butcould they get the rigts to All Along the Watch Tower and Sunsine of Your Love and Whild Thing?

Jam2Me 01-11-2005 04:25 PM

I was watching Viva La Bam and saw this "heartagram" thing everywhere and I tohught Bam Margera had a band like his bro in cKy...so I check out the band "HIM" and read about the members. One of the members put under the part of a survey called DISLIKES - The Beatles.

...I was like ARE YOU JOKING ME!?! I have zero respect for that group now.
That's gross ignorance.

Illmatic 01-11-2005 04:28 PM

Oh my god, he doesn't like the Beatles? Off with his head!

Woodstock 01-11-2005 04:47 PM

Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, no matter how ignorant or stupid.

Jam2Me 01-11-2005 04:47 PM
Oh my god, he doesn't like the Beatles? Off with his head!
...

His band wouldn't be around if it wasn't for the Beatles...how can you dislike them?

I could understand if he said like NSYNC or w/e but wtf.
You obviously couldn't understand what I was trying to get at although I thought it was pretty obvious.

Illmatic 01-11-2005 04:51 PM

Is it not possible to not like a band but respect them?

Is it so hard to realize that some people may just not like The Beatles' music?

Jam2Me 01-11-2005 04:56 PM

I Dislike Rush but I would never put that on some survey under Dislikes...I would put something I loathe like Clay Aiken. Ah forget it I guess he can dislike the Beatles because the Beatles are a thousand times better then his music.

Against Miik! 01-11-2005 05:56 PM

You guys gotta settle down. For a band like HIM that sucks royally, they have to do every little thing they can to seem sweet. He probably is just trying to be a badass by saying he doesn't like them.

Broken Arrow 01-11-2005 07:42 PM

Hehe. This reminds me of the other day when I was wearing my Beatles shirt and the girl I was talking to was like "oh you like the Beatles" and I said Not Really, in a very sarcastic voice and she was like "Me too, I don't like any old music" I laughed at her and walked away.

MORAL-It doesn't matter what other people say about bands unless they keep on doing it repeatidly and it gets annoying.

jpj 01-11-2005 07:56 PM

I don't know what to vote for!

:(

Johnny B. Good 01-11-2005 07:57 PM

Broken Arrow 01-11-2005 07:57 PM

I just voted for DSOTM. Yes I am a fanboy. :upset:

jpj 01-11-2005 08:00 PM

I think I'm gonna wait until the last day to see how things play out.

You should've pimp slapped her, then walked away. :amaze:

My favorite Doors album is s/t.

I voted for Eat A Peach, a losing vote :thumb:

Against Miik! 01-11-2005 08:17 PM

So...I just tried to drink a gallon of milk in a hour.

Johnny B. Good 01-11-2005 08:19 PM

Did you throwup?
my friend tried it once and puked everywhere, then we had to clean it up :upset:

lunch998 01-11-2005 08:19 PM
So...I just tried to drink a gallon of milk in a hour.
An hour? I've tried it in half an hour. Needless to say it's impossible.

I also voted Eat A Peach.

Against Miik! 01-11-2005 08:20 PM

I'm preparing for tommorowing. I've been dared, so it will be lunch entertainment. I got a half gallon in just over 20 minutes, but I felt horrible so I quit. I don't think I could do it.

Johnny B. Good 01-11-2005 08:23 PM

How long is your lunch

Against Miik! 01-11-2005 08:24 PM

54 minutes, with 4 minutes between the class before and after.

lunch998 01-11-2005 08:25 PM

It's funny when people that haven't tried it say that it's so easy. I just laugh at them.

Johnny B. Good 01-11-2005 08:27 PM
54 minutes, with 4 minutes between the class before and after.
You could try and secretly dump some out

Jam2Me 01-11-2005 09:06 PM

Anyone here into Marshall Tucker Band? Livewired said he'd never heard of them :O
Their first two albums are really great but that's about it. Not too groundbreaking but I still think they're a little too underrated.

And is anyone into lesser known classic rock bands like the Flying Burrito Brothers or Commander Cody?

jpj 01-11-2005 09:10 PM

I've only heard Heard It In A Love Song by Marshall Tucker. It seems to be their most well known.

Against Miik! 01-11-2005 09:12 PM

They are a great southern rock band.
