I've met Nicko, he's such a great guy.
my friends girlfriend went to one of his drum clinics and said he was a retard good thing i didn't believe her

Trev 12-05-2005 12:50 PM

Thats how I met him, and absolutely not. That man is a bloody comedy genious, was a brilliant night. I got my Eddie bass drum head signed by him, I've already posted the pictures in this thread somewhere.

blackthorne 12-05-2005 12:55 PM

wow i would love to go to a clinic with him !! hes a legend oh and what does he have agains't double bass drums

Trev 12-05-2005 01:03 PM

He considers them too complicated and 'undrummerish'. But blimey, his right foot is amazing, he doesn't even need a double bass pedal. The first song he played (along with a guitarist and bassist from the We Will Rock You show thing), was Led Zeppelin - Moby Dick, and he gives Bonham a bloody run for his money.

crag 12-05-2005 02:00 PM

i don't play drums but i would definateatily go to one of his clinics:)

Josh 12-05-2005 02:04 PM
i don't play drums but i would definateatily go to one of his clinics:)
he recommends that people who don't play drums go, as it's not just about the drumming but the whole thing of it being a fairly intimate session.

crag 12-05-2005 02:53 PM

i just saw an advert about an album called 'Greatest Rock Riffs' or something like that and it had Run To The Hills in it. I don't know whether to be happy or sad:confused:

for some reason, according to last.fm that's my favourite song.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iron_maiden

read the last bit especially.

EDIT: i just noticed they call Children of Bodom Melodic Death Metal in that article, then in the Bodom article they call them a PM / melo-death hybrid.

Deth 12-05-2005 07:03 PM

Better than Guitar World calling CoB a Black Metal band.

Lord Abortion 12-05-2005 07:13 PM

Hahaha...that's a joke, they wouldn't know Black metal if it Raped their churches and burned their wives.
or similar.

Deth 12-05-2005 07:17 PM

Or Bass Guitar calling UnEarth Black Metal and Progressive Metal in the same 1/3 of a page article.

Idiots.

Abu-Abu 12-06-2005 12:12 AM

Any of you fellow Iron Maiden fans want to send me the first three songs off the album "Fear of the Dark", please only album rips and not live, the ones from that album, for some reason I don't have them on my comp.

My email is abuproductions@gmail.com

DDD 12-06-2005 05:09 AM

If anyone could post which guitarist (Dave, Adrian or Janick) is playing which solo on what song. At least for most popular ones (songs).
Thanks in advance.

-The Frank 12-06-2005 08:22 AM

i think ghost of navigators is janick
and powerslave is adrian and dave

Lord Abortion 12-06-2005 10:13 AM

I still can't tell the difference :(

crag 12-06-2005 10:19 AM

I find Dave and H hard to distinguish sometimes

ashman 12-06-2005 06:04 PM
I find Dave and H hard to distinguish sometimes
They are really hard to separate on Powerslave and PoM, but the rest are easy. H is more technical in a 'meh' way (still a good though), whilst Dave tends to show with Trills and crazy bends and the such.

Lord Abortion 12-06-2005 06:23 PM

I'm gonna sober up before I comment on this again.

Awesome thanks a ton, trying to complete my collection.

YDload 12-06-2005 07:18 PM

One of the few songs that goes Adrian THEN Dave is actually The Trooper. You can see it in the music video, although I don't know what they do live now. I heard two of them harmonize the solo, but I don't know which two!

Lord Abortion 12-06-2005 07:22 PM

Live version of the Prisoner has appalling backing vocals :p

Joe 12-06-2005 07:29 PM
Live version of the Prisoner has appalling backing vocals :p
I haven't heard any of their live stuff. I haven't unzipped the mailing list show from a few days ago. Who is doing the backing vocals?

Deth 12-06-2005 07:32 PM

Stevey.
