Frank Zappa - The Best Band You Never Heard in Your Life

The reggae/jazz cover of Stairway to Heaven is sooo cool. There's some great songs covered on this live album, and all are entertaining and well done.
Yeah, that's a cool album. There are actually 5 discs from just that tour (which was actually cut short, too!). You should check out Broadway the Hard Way and Make a Jazz Noise Here for more classic Zappa material mixed with newer 80s stuff played by one of his greatest larger ensembles.

hah, i'm actually downloading Make a Jazz Noise Here on soulseek right now, as well as one called Chungas Revenge. I'll check out Broadway the Hard Way as well.

btw, i have a question, and i think you'll know so here goes. I was looking on slsk for the album Lumpy Gravy yesterday, but I got some weird results. Does the album only have 2 songs?

Yes, it's a single piece in two parts. There are 22 "indexes," 12 in the first part and 10 in the second, but they are not on separate tracks.

If you like We're Only In It For the Money's more adventurous moments, you'll love Lumpy Gravy

asymm 04-22-2006 04:22 PM

Wilderness - Vessel States
Lou Reed - Berlin

Bukowski 04-22-2006 04:24 PM

Thank you. The album sounds interesting, I'll definitely get it.

Glitterati 04-22-2006 08:37 PM

X - Los Angeles

The title track, as well as Your Phone's Off The Hook.....are awesome. I'm really getting into X lately.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 04-22-2006 08:43 PM

Elf Power - Back To The Web (this is really good.)
Ghostface Killah - Fishscale

YDload 04-22-2006 11:58 PM

Well you're the one who said an album of theirs sucks! That's a pretty bad rap to me :-/

Anyway Built To Spill sure is neat.

br3ad_man 04-23-2006 12:18 AM

I like Transatlanticism the best. It just seems to have the funnest songwriting.

I got some Indian Summer live recordings earlier today and I'm looking forward to hearing them a bit later. They sound like a good band.

pixiesfanyo 04-23-2006 12:33 AM

Indian Summer kind of sucks.

Besides, Angry Son which basically makes them an okay band because it's that good of a song.

pixiesfanyo 04-23-2006 01:08 AM
Every Indian Summer song is good. "Angry Son" is phenomenal.
False.

Every song by Kayo Dot is good though.

ATM 04-23-2006 01:21 AM

Eagles of Death Metal to' it up tonight.

YDload 04-23-2006 01:22 AM

I don't think there are any bands where every song of theirs is phenomenal. Assuming they have a minimum of, say, twenty-five songs? Is it possible?

Yes,

Happymeal 04-23-2006 09:54 AM

Prince Paul - Itstrumental

What a guy.

Iron Bug 04-23-2006 09:58 AM

I'm listening to Band Of Horses, I like it a lot.

JonM 04-23-2006 10:01 AM

I'm going to revisit the old Common Sense records, because the new one tainted my perception of the old ones.

ATM 04-23-2006 10:55 AM

Do you have Electric Circus?

I'm still digging Blind Willie McTell.

JonM 04-23-2006 12:18 PM

No, I don't, and I'm going to get it right now. I have Resurrection and One Day..., and I used to have Like Water For Chocolate but it seems to have disappeared.

Zappa 04-23-2006 02:24 PM

The The - Mindbomb

Zebra 04-23-2006 02:47 PM
The The - Mindbomb
I saw a The The music video on a Beavis and Butthead once, I don't know why but I just remember it.

Nick Drake - Pink Moon
Andrew Bird - Weather Systems

Glitterati 04-23-2006 04:28 PM
Fall Out Boy - From Under The Cork Tree
/rubs eyes in disbelief

Anyway, I'm digging Alice Cooper today. Then again, when am I NOT digging Alice Cooper?

XxcheetoxX 04-23-2006 04:35 PM

Mf Doom - Vaudville Villian Its pretty good, but overrated. The beats are varied and definately not standard rap dance beats. Though the songs drag on sometimes and MF's voice isn't exactly exciting....

Glitterati 04-23-2006 04:36 PM
I downloaded Trash today so yay
Produced by Desmond Child, who also produced Bon Jovi, which I think are one of your gay glam bands
