lots to say bout metallica

1/ there old stuff(before they went to rehab) is much better than there new stuff

2/Fav song has to be master of puppets but i love bells and enter sand man too

3/(the bad ****!) metallica have become far too commercial for there own good and in many cases i whould rether to metallica as a buisness rather than a band and wots all this **** about them releaseing a video game......

4/Arrogant pricks to say the least espicially lars (c,mon man your not really very good!)

5/Dont get me wrong i love matallica but i feel they are losing there edge as far as good music goes and should probaly think about puttin the light out and goin home now before they lose to much respect i mean they just cant compete with the likes of Black label society and all these great bands like
children of bodom and arch enemy as well as masuga n,****

Oh well i am goin to get a grillin for this post but i like a good fight lol

DisposableHeroes 04-08-2005 06:11 AM

Relax snow day, its just your opinion. I know your probably not alone in thinking that

Echleon 04-08-2005 06:12 AM

I really hope there are solo's on the new album.

Does anyone know around what time it'll be out? I heard 2006, but im not too sure about this.

DisposableHeroes 04-08-2005 06:15 AM

2005 some time

snow day 04-08-2005 06:18 AM

Some kind of monster
lars like bows down to his dad and that had qiute alot of impact to st anger
when lars let his dad listen to one of the songs on st anger he said "son its ****"

and lars went over to the band and wanted it removed from the album even though he liked it himself.....crazy lol

DisposableHeroes 04-08-2005 06:22 AM

I still need to see it

Shit, it just hit i did have enough to buy it but mere minutes ago i blew it all on Helmet albums  :D

Piss off. Also, you might wanna learn how to construct arguments that arent total crap.

Masuga? It's Meshuggah mate.

mr black 04-08-2005 07:50 AM

how many times are we going to discuss why there are no solo's on st anger, this has gotta be the 50th time its come up. to finalise... kirk didnt want them he said they didnt interest him anymore (he was tired of them), lars didnt want them because he didnt want them sounding like their old stuff (he wanted something different) bob rock didnt say no solo's he said that if they had something that would benefit the song then they should use it. but no one in the band felt solo's were needed. no need to bring it up again :)

Deth 04-08-2005 07:53 AM

End of story. If anyone asks again they shall be smacked by the general population of the thread.

Master Of Nebulah Frost 04-08-2005 07:57 AM
btw, I made a post a while back that I was inspired by MOP to write a song similarly structured (not intentionaly, but I realized it later)
here it is
has anyone else noticed st.anger didnt have 1 guitar solo?!?!! what is up with that??
YES! WE HAVE NOTICED!

fatbandit 04-08-2005 08:31 AM

Okay, I'm not asking the question, I just want to put something straight... Kirk did want them, because he didn't want 'no solos' to date St. Anger to the same time as NU-Metal basically, while Lars reckoned it would sound dated if solos were put in. In the end, it just didn't work with solos on the album. They tried some, and came away with none. They still put some in live, so don't complain ;) That is all.

metalcritter666 04-08-2005 08:36 AM
Are u kidding everything that Metallica has ever made has been a good song
If you don't think so that you aren't a real fan
if you think that a metallica fan must love every song, you are an uber poser.

munky_magik 04-08-2005 08:39 AM

*fanboy.

metalcritter666 04-08-2005 08:44 AM
just a quick question for anyone who knows... the bit in the solo when kirk makes the guitar scream really high pitched. i know he does it by touchiong th estrings against the pickups on the album, but does anyone know how what he does for that bit when playing live? i think its artificial harmonics somewhere low on the neck, but cant work it out!
thanks!
pinched harmonics i believe.
you seem to be a beginner so you probably will be unfamiliar with these....
...and please take it to the guitar forum

mr black 04-08-2005 08:46 AM

agreed. god bout time we put an end to people crying about st anger

Sandtrap 04-08-2005 08:46 AM

pinched harmonics are pretty krunk...zakk used them alot!

DisposableHeroes 04-08-2005 08:47 AM

I can never seem to do them..

Deth 04-08-2005 08:47 AM

The word krunk does not belong here.

1. we've already established this on countless occasions....
2. fantastic, i'm so thrilled.
3. metallica are hideously over-commercialized, but even they realize that at the end of the day its still about the music. do you know how much money they had to put into fighting napster? lars had to sell 100,000s of dollars of his art, which had loads of sentimental value to him...
4. i'd like to see you play battery +20 other songs +drum solos nearly every night for three years. i wouldnt call them arrogant. or pricks. you are a prick.
5. i highly doubt metallica would listen to a fuck like you. i for one and for that matter most of the people in this thread disagree with you saying metallica should call it quits because no matter what they will always be a highly respected band, as most of the bands you listen too (which are great bands) probably owe their careers to metallica, and st. anger wasnt their strongest point, but it was better than most of the **** out there now.

and could you please have the respect to spell the names of the bands you are championing/slamming correctly?

now fuck off. owned

fatbandit 04-08-2005 09:50 AM

Yes. It was like £18 on DVD in Music Zone though...

Six Foot Revolver 04-08-2005 09:51 AM

I still haven't seen SKOM

\m/Pete\m/ 04-08-2005 10:04 AM

Just buy it MXican, its well worth the money.

I was listening to Shortest Straw the other day and the solos in that are probably where Kirk shows off his talent the best. Anyone else agree?
