why did spiff delete his thread about his crappy bands new ep?
I've often thought of this myself. I've pondered it for days on end. |
Somebody probably said something mean. When I was a regular around here and his band was just getting started he used to fly off the handle every time someone didn't like them.

What's the big deal? Everything in music is either right or wrong, there's no inbetweens.

Exactly. For example, my band is right, everyone else's is wrong. |
So, my old band wants to get back together (with a different rhythm guitarist) and play a couple benefit shows. Should I do it?
Also, I just completely bypassed 2 pages of differential equations homework by making a simple observation and applying the knowledge of latus rectum of a parabola to solve the answer in 3 lines. Fuck. Yeah. However, my solution for the second problem is surely incorrect, so I guess that's karma. |

I just got a Korg Pitchblack tuner. I like it way better than the Boss TU2.
|
thats why your band will never improve bro
childish |
I've had a Sonic Research Turbo Tuner for a while. I like it way better than my old DT-10BK.
Also, I never normally go overboard on expensive brands and stuff for clothes (except shoes, I fucking love shoes) but I just bought a pair of Etnies jeans cuz they were like 60% off. Turns out they're 2% spandex or something and they're amazing. The fit is super awesome too, but FUCKING ELASTIC. I can see why girls love their elastic jeans so much now. My life has been changed. I don't want non-elastic clothes ever again. |

The only name brand that I stick to are Dickies, and I only buy their shorts with the pocket on the side because that's where my keys go. I usually wear just a plain black T-shirt (the kind in the Haines 3-pk) and a white, long-sleeve undershirt. Except on occasion, this is my style year-round. The only thing even remotely close to elastic that I own is an Under Armor shirt that I got wicked cheap on the military base. I like the fit and feel, and I'm definitely considering buying more of them for snowboard use.
Those pesky tuning pedals!
Exactly. Korg DT1000 or go home. I've actually considered ditching the rack tuner and going with a Pitch Black too. |
korg pitchblack is perty good i use one its just that you cant really put velcro on the bottom very easily which i think is stupid

Why is it stupid to be able to put velcro on the bottom with ease? |
Typo attack.

Ah, yes, very important letters those ended up being. :p |
I know it's Antoniotsai,
but goddamn I love the look of this bass: http://cgi.ebay.com/GREAT-SOLIDWOOD-BUBINGA-7-STRINGS-ELECTRIC-BASS-10665-/350434900245?pt=Guitar&hash=item51978c3915 |

It reminds me of a Ritter Okon with a less-cool bridge and inferior build-quality. But for $750, I wouldn't expect it to be a Ritter at all.

Yeah, those little feet things on the bottom are kind of pointless. I think I'm just going to layer the entire bottom of my pedalboard with velcro so I can move the pedals around as I please. Oh, and I'm going to buy a ProCo Rat. Tubescreamer -> Rat -> Big Muff = win |

I don't like it too much, but it does the job. The guy I borrowed it off also has that exact bass as well. I don't much like the look of it, but I reckon with a little bit of care and some new pickups etc, it'd make a good bass. The neck is a baseball bat though. |

Really? Good to know. My Schecter's neck is pretty thick, and it irritates me. |
Today is a good day so far. The girlfriend and I just started brewing our oatmeal stout, I've been fairly productive with my Topology studying, I filed my federal taxes, and I ordered a new set of Circle K's for my Spector.
I also got an interesting text last night from my old lead singer. Long story short, we're now getting back together to play a benefit show on March 6. I'm kind of excited for that. |
http://soundcloud.com/raayl/gladiators-our-blood-for i made this today

We played this house party on Saturday night. It ended up being a lot of fun. It was definitely the least amount of room I've ever had for myself at a show. I couldn't take a single step in any direction.
We busted out a couple of new covers, too, which all went over quite well. The White Stripes - Fell In Love With A Girl The Pixies - Tame Mclusky - Day Of The Deadringers The person who hosted the party also performed with his dub band, and they were surprisingly good. They had this sax player who was actually amazing, and they just played really well. They ended their set with a wicked cover of Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz. |
I really dislike covers, largely speaking.
|
someone i know told me we needed to play more covers. because watching a band when you don't know their material is boring.
doesn't that only apply to bands with boring material though? or did she just straight up pwn me :/ |
