Nuclear Winter is my favorite song. The only thing I have on my comp right now is their latest release, which doesn't quite compare to their old stuff.
|
Yeah, Percecution Mania, Agent Orange, and M-16 are probably the best from them.
Although In the Sign of Evil was morbid as hell and Tapping the Vein wasn't bad at all. Too much good stuff from them. NP: Ritual Carnage - World Wide War |
Agent Orange, Persecution Mania and In The Sign Of Evil are all Thrash essentials.
Acid Storm - Galactic Holocaust -- Biotronic Genesis [06:43m/192Kbps/44KHz] - 1991 Me likes Brazilian thrash
Which Acid Storm album is best? also, have you heard Chakal? They are good. |
Chakal were good.
Gotta love THRASH! Favorite bands/releases are as follows: Necropolis - Contemplating Slaughter Forbidden - Forbidden Evil Assorted Heap - Mindwaves Deztroyer - Climate Change Chainsaw - Smell the Saw Depressive Age - Lying in Wait Acid Storm - Biotronic Genesis Hexenhaus - Dejavoodoo Insane - Wait and Prey Metal Storm - Outbreak of Evil Pyracanda - Two Sides of a Coin Soothsayer - Have a Good Time Turbo - Last Warrior Witchburner - Blasphemic Assault Torr - kladivo na earodijnice Egzekuthor - Czas Sumienia Artillery - Terror Squad Gotta say Thrash is my favorite, even though there is still lots of german/brazilian/CZE thrash that I have yet to hear :(
Decent list man. I haven't heard of Egzekuthor, Torr, Insane or Depressive Age but I'll check them out because most of the others on that list are good. Does anyone listen to or know of the following: Taurus Witchhammer Attomica/Atomica Lobotomia Amnesia Entropy Evil Sinner Gladiator Zoetrope ? |
Witchammer and Atomica are good from what I remember.
Guys, what genre are S.O.D.? They seem like an awesome thrash band, but i've yet to hear them. |
S.O.D. are crossover.
|
Yeah, they're Crossover.
Fucking awesome Crossover at that. I've been listening to Speak English Or Die heaps lately. |
They had Speak English or Die at Best Buy and the record store, but I decided against buying it both times for some reason. Now that I know this though, i'll get it.
|
yeah, Stormtroopers Of Death are crossover, like Corrosion of Conformity and DRI(awesome band).
They are basically thrash with some hardcore punk + other elements. Milk has to be one of my favorite songs of SOD. |
March Of The SOD = Pure headbanging greatness.
|
United Forces ftw. I like the live version of Speak English or Die (song)
|
Those live songs on the Speak Englsih Or Die re-release are awesome. Billy Milano's intros are funny.
United Forces has a great chorus. |

Top 50 thrash metal albums of all time it seems |
haha, nice to see Mortal Sin getting some recognition! Great band.
I don't really agree with that list a whole though. I'm in a list making mood, so here's my Top 10: 1. Exodus - Bonded By Blood 2. Megadeth - Rust In Peace 3. Vio-lence - Eternal Nightmare 4. Kreator - Pleasure To Kill 5. Slayer - Reign In Blood 6. Dark Angel - Darkness Descends 7. Sodom - Agent Orange 8. Sepultura - Beneath The Remains 9. Artillery - By Inheritance 10. Sadus - Illusions sometimes I would put Pleasure To Kill ahead of Eternal Nightmare though. They are both so good :( if you don't have all of those, then you are gay :) |
Top 10 for me
Destruction - Release From Agony Kreator - Terrible Certainty Dark Angel - Time Does Not Heal Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death Sadus - Swallowed in Black Megadeth - Peace Sells...But Who's Buying? Sodom - Agent Orange Sepultura - Beneath the Remains Testament - The Legacy Slayer - Hell Awaits My list is probably quite unorthodox compared to others |
Release From Agony just missed out in my list :(
If you asked me about 4 months ago, RFA probably would have replaced Illusions. I went through a big Destruction phase a while back. |
That was a good list, it's nice to see Agent Orange in the Top 10.
I would say: 1.Agent Orange 2.Swallowed in Black 3.Rust in Peace 4.Eternal Nightmare 5.The Legacy 6.Bonded by Blood 7.Terror Squad 8.RIP 9.Ride the Lightning 10.Pleasure to Kill |
It's really hard to do a top 10. I really wanted to put Bonded By Blood and Eternal Nightmare too.
Drummer Igor Cavalera has officially announced his departure from SEPULTURA (as first reported by BLABBERMOUTH.NET on January 13, 2006 and subsequently denied by both the band and Igor).
In a statement released today (June 12) to the Brazilian media, Igor attributed the split to "artistic incompatibility" with his SEPULTURA bandmates — guitarist Andreas Kisser, bassist Paulo Xisto Pinto Jr. and vocalist Derrick Green. "I believe my time in SEPULTURA has come to an end," Igor said in the statement. "I have a lot of pride in everything we have done, but I feel that the group's current formation does not meet my expectations as a musician and a person. Since my last tour with SEPULTURA, which took place in Europe in December 2004, I have sensed that my ideas were not compatible with those of the rest of the band. "I would really like to thank all of the fans that supported me and continue supporting our music. I would also like to thank everybody that worked to make SEPULTURA the band that it had become." Igor announced earlier in the year that he was taking a break from the group's touring activities to spend time with his second wife and their new son (who was born in January). Filling in on drums during the band's European tour with IN FLAMES was Mayorga, who played with Igor's brother Max in SOULFLY for several years in the late '90s and again in 2001-2003. Igor is the second Cavalera to leave SEPULTURA. In 1996, Max Cavalera exited the group after the rest of the band fired Max's wife Gloria as SEPULTURA's manager. SEPULTURA are rumored to have selected Jean Dolabella (ex-UDORA) as their new permanent drummer following Roy Mayorga's decision to join STONE SOUR as a full-time member.
No point now. |
The more and more I listen to Darkness Descends, the more I like it. Dark Angel kills! The songs are just brutal and never let up, I love it ^_^
Dark Angel - Merciless Death -- Darkness Descends [04:07m/192Kbps/44KHz] - 1986 |
Darkness Descends \m/
The title track, Merciless Death and Perish In Flames are my favourites. |
I don't listen to much thrash besides Metallica but in my opinion the best would be MOP, AJFA, RIP and CFH (if it counts as thrash)
|
Pantera isn't quite thrash.
You should check out Exodus, Overkill, Megadeth, Slayer and some Testament. I think you would enjoy those. |
Hey what you guys think of Interzone?
Woah! Where have you been?! Sadly, there's not very many of us left in here anymore. It's good to have another regular back in here. Can't say I've heard Interzone though. NP: King Diamond - The Invisable Guests |
Hello Mathias :)
I haven't heard of Interzone though :( |
My dad has an Interzone album methinks.
July, 25 2006 at Burnt Ramen! Not Available, Richmond, CA 94801 Cost: Municipal Waste, Deadfall, Ghoul, Cropduster
Man, I have no idea where Richmond CA, but I'm guessing it's atleast 5 hours away from my area. Just those two bands alone would be a great show. |
