Getting my ipod back after 2 months
|
I dig the new Blood Brothers so far. 7 tracks in and it's seeming just as a catchy as Crimes and heavier and more spastic in parts and then more poppy than Crimes in other parts. Basically, so far it seems like the best parts of Crimes and BPIP in one.
|
I'm digging Painful by Yo La Tengo. Not thier best, but awesome.
I also got that Plague Songs CD as well, the one with Scott Walker, Rufus Wainwright, Imogen Heap et al. each having wrote a song about one of the plagues of Egytp. Would anyone be interested in it for the mailing list?
I'd quite like to hear it. I'm not on any mailing lists, though. Nonpoint - Statement Pretty much the only nu metal album I still think is really good and listen to on a semi-regular basis. I enjoy the music as well as the vocals and lyrics and everything, and there isn't a lack of variety. It's remarkable. The last track (a dual-vocalist, nu metal-backed mash-up of "A Children's Story", "Woo-Hah!! Got You All In Check" and "Method Man") is a lot of fun, though I don't know what more devoted hip hop fans might think. Would've liked to write a review of it sometime. Buckcherry - "Whiskey in the Morning" Used to listen to this song for (literally) hours on repeat, and lately it's been enjoying a bit of a resurgence. Never went so far as to buy an album of theirs though, for some reason. Herman's Hermits - "No Milk Today" Has just quickly become one of my favourite songs. Really very good. Also, Jim Breuer's version of Denis Leary's "Asshole", having finally found it, and Amos Lee, still. |
Kylesa- "To Walk a Middle Course"
so rad. |
John Cale. I love his bubbly little pop songs. Since Tower Record is liquidating, I might go see if I can get anything on the cheap, perhaps more John Cale. I know one of the stores has all the Certain Ratio albums. That might be interesting. I know they're a big horrible chain for most people, but in my town (where the company started) they're a ****ing institution. Pretty disappointing.
