rasputin 05-09-2009 11:34 PM

cocaine, while i know you're online, can you please tell me what Kingston and Hamilton are like? (both in Ontario)

Tyler 05-09-2009 11:36 PM

Kingston sucks, it's kind of in the middle of nowhere (well, it's near London, but London sucks) and it's full of Asians from what i can remember.

Hamilton is a lot better. Granted a good 50% of the city smells like sewage, there's still a very nice chunk of area (near McMaster mostly) and it's a 40 minute bus ride from Toronto. It has a decent downtown core, some good bars and it gets some good shows. It's also a nice mix between student and regular, though there's a huge portion of factory workers because it has a huge (and smelly) industrial sector.

That sucks, I just realised McMaster doesn't offer any Economics courses that I need. Queen's Uni in Kingston does, however, but I'm still looking up a few other partner universities I can go to.

Angmar 05-09-2009 11:41 PM

Awesome date.

Even the play ruled.

From what i remember Queens is really badass.

rasputin 05-09-2009 11:49 PM

Yeah the uni looks really good, but I'll be there for 6 months so I want where I'm staying to be decent as well. My original plan of going to Austria fell through because of the specifics of my degree, so I'm sorting out my options. It looks like Queen's will be my first preference though.

SKUDstorm 05-09-2009 11:57 PM

yeah, i dont really know what kingston is like, ive only been there once when i was visiting my brother in university and relatives there.

rasputin 05-10-2009 12:02 AM

Hamilton is out unfortunately, I might have the option of Ottawa though.

Angmar 05-10-2009 12:04 AM

You should come to Washington BRO.

rasputin 05-10-2009 12:08 AM

I've ruled out the states for the time being mainly because I'll be a lot more poorer in the US than in Canada.

Asians? I've seen like one black person and that's it for non whites all the times I've been in Kingston. Queens is like 100% white people. Anyone who goes there will tell you that. But yeah, Kingston is boring.

Downtown Hamilton is so disgusting. I never want to go there again. If you're on the mountain or around mac, it's fine though.

Probably a good choice, especially if you were ever to need any medical attention. :p

Nostalgia 05-10-2009 12:22 AM

i was actually on the border of canada today but didnt go in because BC is lame after the 500th time.

RiceMonster 05-10-2009 12:23 AM

I've never been to BC

Angmar 05-10-2009 12:23 AM

Yeah it's ok I get bored in Victoria after like 4 hours though.

Nostalgia 05-10-2009 12:25 AM

BC really is beautiful, but I want to experience a different part of Canada.
