I saw some of it.

I think Mark Lamarr is an odious little twat anyway.

not really something i watch a lot.
i watched a bit of The Mysterious Island earlier on Sky One - probably the shittest programme i've seen this year! obviously a small budget as well, but at least that means they didn't waste much money on it, lol.

I thought he was funny. Ross trying to immitate his style of humour on the show doesn't seem right :-/

Bartender 03-13-2006 04:39 PM

I liked Jonathan Ross hosting it. But then I seem to like Ross quite a bit anyway.

Oh my lordy, my brother got me the re-release of the Lunar Strain when he was in Sweden, because I couldn't find it here, and my gosh, the acoustic stuff on the promo versions of the songs are amazing.

Riva 03-13-2006 05:46 PM

Yeah, I bought that a while back. It's quite good, especially for a new band.

Shadows 03-13-2006 05:49 PM

When was it re-released? I don't like that album at all, but it may sound better if they did a Stormblast type thing with it.

Hello, I'm putting this here just because, you know... Life is short. Very short. And death is quite an unexpected ride. For instance, one of my teacher's husband died a couple hours ago. Why do we get all creepy when people die?

I don't know.

Remember kids, death is a weird thing.

I saw that album in stores and almost bought when I was on my cd shopping spree. I didn't though because I was on the look out for PEM.

No, it's just extra material on the end.
I'm no lawyer, but I'm pretty sure that was their first album.

Why is death a weird thing? I agree that it is unexpected at most times, and quite saddening, but it's not exactly weird.

i am the robots 03-13-2006 06:00 PM

Ohhhhh, I thought you were saying In Flames were a new band right now... wow, I misread that. Yeah, technically they were a new band, but the members had all played together at some point in Ceremonial Oath, and they even brought a few riffs from those old songs onto it, for instance: the song Lunar Strain and the Ceremonial Oath song The Day I Buried both have the same intro, though Lunar Strain is played faster.

It's weird because it comes in the most unexpected ways. I mean I give myself a life ratio of 70-75 years tops, but what if I die before that?

I don't know.

I've grown out of crying or getting sad with death. I see it more as a transition.

If I may, I do think that Ray's avatar/location combination is rather humorous.

That little boy (pretend it's Sweet Baby Ray - no, not the barbecue sauce) will be in everyone's hearts and minds for all eternity or something. Is he screaming "That's racist!" or what? It's like he just saw the cue card and exploded.
Who's Uncle Tom?
Uncle Tom is a pejorative term for a black person who is perceived by other blacks to be obsequiously servile to white authority figures, or who simply are perceived as being unnecessarily accommodating of whites. The term Uncle Tom comes from the title character of white author Harriet Beecher Stowe's novel Uncle Tom's Cabin.

It is used to denote African Americans whose political views or allegiances are considered by critics detrimental to blacks as a group.

translation: an uncle tom is a black man who takes it from the white man and likes it

Riva 03-13-2006 06:19 PM

We call those people coconuts here, but it's mostly in jest, since we don't have the same political schism as the US.
