How about Triple Corpse Dinnerbowl?
I'm gna steal your word and say, lollercoaster!

IheartSP 06-05-2006 05:38 PM
That's a bad example of "neo-classical" in Bodom.
It's the closest HCDR comes.

AA-12 06-05-2006 05:40 PM

Yeah, but that album isn't very NC at all was what I was trying to say.

gmoneyguy 06-05-2006 05:41 PM

There isn't that much neo-classical in Bodom. Maybe I'm not going far enough back.

AA-12 06-05-2006 05:43 PM

There's no true neo-classical in them, but there's definitely influence.

GenuineImitation 06-05-2006 05:43 PM

Their earlier albums like Something Wild, Follow The Reaper and hatebreeder had a neo-classical influence.

Alot of there stuff on hatebreeder has alot neo-classical influence.

Shattered_Future 06-05-2006 06:27 PM

Oh my God YOU AREN'T TALKING ABOUT GUITARS!!!!!

While the first half of HCDR kicks the crap out of the second half, there's some decent **** on the second half. You're Better Off Dead, Lil Riding Hood, and HCDR are all pretty sweet, especially the former.

Shadows Within 06-05-2006 06:35 PM

huh??

MRDuCran 06-05-2006 06:49 PM

We usually talk about guitar playing related things. He's being sarcastic.

We = Mitch, Dylan, Kurrpt, Repcak.

I have them both in really only hear it the keyboards, but its a light influence.

You don;t even know how to pick out neo-classical.

TEST 06-05-2006 08:18 PM

yay my geetar is fukked beyond belief now. Or so it seems.

Anyways,

I took it in to GC. (the saddle screw on the low E had shot through ).
He at first said, very rare and whatnot.

So he tried another screw. Too loose. Then other size which size better* (IMO it's not big enough).
Then he ajusted the neck.

Now. The action isn't as bad as when I tried it right after.

Major problem is sound wise.
I honestly don't have a clue if ajusting the neck would change sound. (Quarter turn counterclockwise if that helps).

(of course. NO CHANGES WERE MADE ON MY AMP) (So I know IT IS NOT my amp)
Before. With current tone (that wasn't changed). DADGBE sounded really really heavy and worked great for Nile. Now DADGBE sounds like poppy crap. It's very rich tone and whatnot. But doesn't pack the same heavyness, not even close. I had to go about an octave lower to get close to that heavy. (It wasn't just with Nile, I tried some a7x [which is in DADGBE and a few other riffs). That was the same case.
EADGBE sounded like "hello sweet sunshine".

I know it's not my amp. Switchs (tone knob) or pick up switch selection.
Settings are all the same on my amp.

Any fukkin idea?

have you heard the downfall solo?

or the end of black widow, and toward dead end?, im not saying its a large influence but you can deffinitly tell.

EDIT: actually from what i hear most of there songs end in that really cheesy neo-classical yngwie style.

CoB sounds nothing like Yngwie though. CoB's use of classical is original while Yngwie is just a ripoff of all the classical composers.

yeah but im still gonna like him

about your guitar i have no idea, im not even good at playing let alone fixing them.

MRDuCran 06-05-2006 08:56 PM

I like Yngwie.

Shadows Within 06-05-2006 09:04 PM

Does any keyboardist know hot to get Janne's tone? is it just from the patch polysix on the JV 1080 or is it stuff on his X5?

repcak 06-06-2006 02:16 AM

yngwie influenced so many (if not all) guitarists who play neo-classical. even if alexi isn't influenced by him directly (though he is! but lets suppose he's not) at least some guitarists who are his idols in the neo-classical style of play are influenced by Yngwie directly.

btw. some songs by Yngwie are good/great, some are just boring.

AA-12 06-06-2006 04:58 AM

He's not that big of an influence though, just with other shredders mainly.

kurrpt 06-06-2006 07:09 AM

ever since I downtuned my 7 string baritone, i friggin love it. Chugga chugga on the low A string ftw :thumb:

AA-12 06-06-2006 07:10 AM

Hell yeah, man. I have mine at AEADGBE. Sounds great.

kurrpt 06-06-2006 07:11 AM

whats up with that tuning?!

mine's ADGCFAD

AA-12 06-06-2006 07:11 AM

It's Like Drop D, but with a 7.

kurrpt 06-06-2006 07:14 AM

never heard anyone doing that with a 7. Fair enough

AA-12 06-06-2006 07:15 AM

I just did it to play Nile at first. Now I love it though.

Shred Danson 06-06-2006 08:55 AM

Good, now tune it to Drop tuning down 2 1/2 steps

God, that'd be low.

kurrpt 06-06-2006 09:07 AM

theres no way. I love being able to down tune a full step with 10s. If i went any lower, im afraid id have to change string gauges

MRDuCran 06-06-2006 10:42 AM

I like keeping 9's when I'm in D because I'm a vibrato whore.

/big fan of Malmsteen's crazy vibrato.

AA-12 06-06-2006 10:44 AM

You pansies.

/vibratoes with 11's

MRDuCran 06-06-2006 12:34 PM

Recordings of your crazy vibrato Yngwie style using 11 gauge plz.

kurrpt 06-06-2006 12:55 PM

9s could work i guess, since it is a 27" baritone. I'm just too used to 10s i guess

AA-12 06-06-2006 02:30 PM
Recordings of your crazy vibrato Yngwie style using 11 gauge plz.
Song suggestion plz

MRDuCran 06-06-2006 02:32 PM

Baroque and Roll.

AA-12 06-06-2006 02:35 PM

That song is really, really long.
