OK guys I got my first review up, check it out. If you don't have it already you should really buy it, it's a great CD.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-08-2005 04:14 PM

Wow I was way wrong about Clapton. Unplugged is awsome.

Jam2Me 01-08-2005 04:17 PM

What songs are on it (other then Layla)?

magicbus 01-08-2005 04:37 PM

Tears In Heaven, Hey Hey, Before You Accuse Me, Nobody Knows When You're Down And Out, Malted Milk, Walkin' Blues, and Runnin on Faith are the few I can remember. The whole cd is very good. I'd recommend it to anybody.

Humor99 01-08-2005 06:59 PM

San Francisco Bay is also on it.

Random note - anybody know what kind of guitar Robertson uses on The Last Waltz?

BludgeonySteve 01-08-2005 07:05 PM

Looks like a fender strat. Atleast it did according to my failing memory.

Hehe, Ringo Starr is whoring stuff in infomercials again.

I really liked the gold reflective cover it had. Good stuff.

magicbus 01-08-2005 07:13 PM

Yea its some kind of stratocaster. I've never seen that pickup set up though, probably custom.

Broken Arrow 01-08-2005 08:02 PM

Yeah the poll was pretty weak IMO. It was either RHCP or VH but I went VH:\

BillCosby 01-08-2005 08:11 PM

I picked up "Surrealistic Pillow" by Jefferson Airplane today.

Well, technically I borrowed it from the library, but I own a copy now.

Great Album.....indeed.

I don't have it on C.D. yet because it is too hard to find.:(

Woodstock 01-08-2005 08:16 PM

My library has a poor CD collection. It's mostly boy bands and Kenny G.

You're not missing much.

Man, my wish list is getting bigger everyday. I need to go shopping.

Livewired: Would you have any Booker T. & The MGs CD's?

Woodstock 01-08-2005 08:32 PM

DeusExMachina 01-08-2005 08:36 PM

I haven't really heard much by Booker T. and the MG's. Except Green Onions of course, because everyone has heard it. Is all their stuff instrumental?

The Hives - Tyrannosaurus Hives
I've noticed kids only liking popular and well known Classic Rock bands, like Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, ect...

They missout on some of the greatest lesser known Classic rock bands. Like The Byrds, or Buffalo Springfield, Big Brother and Holding Company, The Velvet Underground, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Van Morrison, ect. Most of those bands were pretty big in their day, but the kids these days aren't looking for those bands. Usually, they are looking for the heavier, or louder types, but that's only the kids I know.
its all about being popular these days......at least theres any classic rock at all... :)

DeusExMachina 01-08-2005 09:34 PM

I for one don't think the Classic Rock Fanboy-ness will last. I mean, the rap fanboy stuff didn't last, the pop-punk fanboy stuff didn't last. It's just a fad, and they'll move on.

Good, then we can be uncool again.

gmoneyguy 01-08-2005 09:58 PM

I am watching The Doors right now, and so far its great.

Heh, I don't think it's popular enough where anyone who likes Classic Rock is cool. (I meant we can't be uncool if we weren't cool to begin with :p)

Macdaddy 01-08-2005 10:05 PM

this thread is to long to have any meaningful discussion now----can we start it again.

jefferson airplane are tops by the way do people consider them classic rock or acid rock stoners :)

DeusExMachina 01-08-2005 10:06 PM

Everyone at my school is either a heavy metal fanboy or an AC/DC fanboy. And I am considered uncool regardless of the fact that I listen to classic rock. Being a classic rock freak doesn't help matters much, though.

lunch998 01-08-2005 10:07 PM

If we start it again we will just pick up where we left off. Thread length has no impact on topics.

Rasta Rocker 01-08-2005 10:08 PM

jefferson airplane was a great band, but that **** in the 80s with chick from jefferson was terrible, we built this city on rock and roll is easily the worst song ive ever heard...i think id rather listen to lil jon

I understand the first part, but what chick are you talking about?

Johnny B. Good 01-08-2005 11:43 PM

he's talking about Gracie Slick and she never sucks. but Jefferson's Starship (Jefferson's Airplane name in the late 70's and early 80's) wasn't as good as their earlier stuff except for the album Freedom At Point Zero

gmoneyguy 01-08-2005 11:44 PM

How did Jim Morrison die?

Woodstock 01-08-2005 11:47 PM
How did Jim Morrison die?
A. Drug overdose
B. Alien abduction
C. Sexual exhaustion

lunch998 01-08-2005 11:48 PM

Those are the ways to go out.

gmoneyguy 01-08-2005 11:48 PM

So is they way the movie showed Morrison's death accurate?

DeusExMachina 01-09-2005 12:07 AM

Woodstock and JPJ (if it is JPJ) confuse the hell out of me. And rock not roll (if it is rock not roll.)
