I haven't seen it, no. He is a potentially good actor but I can't take him seriously. And his forehead really pisses me off.

lol
And his forehead really pisses me off.
 Understandable.

For some reason, though, I like his voice and general vocal delivery.

Txus 05-21-2008 04:06 PM

weather man is a great movie. I like NIcholas Cage in some movies, I hate him in others.

Leaving las Vegas is one of my favorite movies of his.

Dimmu Burger 05-21-2008 04:07 PM

Ghost Rider was the shiznit!

Txus 05-21-2008 04:08 PM

Holy ****, no man. Hope that's sarcasm.

Jaundice 05-21-2008 04:08 PM

He's one of those actors that I enjoy enough to where I can actually somewhat appreciate him even in shit movies.

Charlie Chaplin, though, now that guy is undeniably a badass.

Tyler 05-21-2008 04:09 PM

Ghost Rider was probably one of the worst movies I've half-seen in the last few years. It wasn't even "so bad it's good", it was just flat out awful.

R Downey Jr.? I never got to see Chaplin but I like his other movies. Especially kiss kiss bang bang.

Jaundice 05-21-2008 04:17 PM

I was more so thinking of the actual Charlie Chaplin.

But I do like Downey Jr. in A Scanner Darkly.

Tyler 05-21-2008 04:17 PM

Robert Downey JR just plays himself in every movie. His Tony Stark and his whoeveritwasinKissKissBangBang = the exact same role.

Ventriloquist 05-21-2008 04:21 PM

Hahah true. I still couldn't watch A Scanner Darkly. Definately first on my list.

Tyler 05-21-2008 04:22 PM

A Scanner Darkly was okay.

Txus 05-21-2008 04:24 PM

It was mediocre.

I think I'll watch Freaks later today, such a great movie.

Jaundice 05-21-2008 04:25 PM

I didn't care for the actual plot at all, but I really appreciate the characterization and dialog.

I know this is like stepping in front of a fire squad, but I'll mention it regardless, am I the only person alive who thinks Philip Dick is an over rated piece of shit the likes of which has never been equaled?

Tyler 05-21-2008 04:26 PM

I've never read any Dick, but I like his ideas at least.

Jaundice 05-21-2008 04:47 PM

I've read three of his novels. Lies, Inc. was the only one that really showed any potential, for me. It was actually interesting, but ended up pretty mediocre.

The problem could be that I managed to read mostly his more mainstream works, but there's a limit on how many books you can read by an author without enjoyment before giving up, so I don't think any further experimentation is necessary.

Dimmu Burger 05-21-2008 04:56 PM
Holy ****, no man. Hope that's sarcasm.
I like cheesy superhero movies. They hit the spot.

Txus 05-21-2008 05:01 PM

But that movie was bad in so many ways. I accepted that you liked Fantastic 4, but Ghost Rider? come on!

Pebster49 05-21-2008 05:01 PM

that chick he was with was super duper hott

McP3000 05-21-2008 05:02 PM

Ghost Rider was awful

and Nicholas is nothing more than a B Movie actor. Every movie he has ever been in (that ive seen at least), has been b-rate or worse

Ventriloquist 05-21-2008 05:02 PM

Ghost Rider was by far one of the worst movies I've ever seen. But Eva Mendes was hot gotta say that.

EDIT!: Hold on, Next by Nicholas Cage was THE WORST movie I've ever seen. Can't believe I watched that till the end... In every Cage movie they try to save the movie by putting a hot chick in it I think haha.

McP3000 05-21-2008 05:06 PM

i despise movies where absolutely stunning women end up with mediocre looking men. Its totally unrealistic and arbitrarily used. I know its Hollywood...but come on

Ventriloquist 05-21-2008 05:07 PM

Adam Sandler and Kate Beckinsale in Click is a great example of that lol.

What about Matchstick Men? I thought that was really, really well done.

Then he does stuff like The Wicker Man. Blech.

I have to say Scott Speedman is probably one of the luckiest dudes alive. First, he shoots two movies with Kate Beckinsale (Underworlds) and now he's got that new one coming out with Liv Tyler, two of the hottest women ever.

What a bitch.

McP3000 05-21-2008 05:09 PM

Click was so bad

not to mention ive never found Adam Sandler funny

Tyler 05-21-2008 05:10 PM

Liv Tyler looks kind of like she has fetal alcohol syndrome.

McP3000 05-21-2008 05:11 PM

Matchstick Men was very well done actually. I liked it unlike the rest of his repetoire.

It was still promoted like a B movie though.

Txus 05-21-2008 05:11 PM

Tyler:  that's so true.

Matchstick Men was good, Weather Man was good, Adaptation is just perfect.

McP3000 05-21-2008 05:13 PM

never saw weather man or adaptation, so no comment on those
