i think that lateralus is there tightest album sound wise and playing wise aenima almost hits the tight factor soundwise but somthing is missing i dont know if anyone eles notices but i find that lateralus is a "quiet" album compared to a greenday or slipknot record witch for me makes me have to crank it up and listen more i always thought it was really cool that way too

Hehehe, I wasn't calling you retarded, I know exactly how it is.. I do it myself all the time

I just heard 'I' by Meshuggah.

All I have to say is...Holy ****....that is an excellent band.

Also, Imaginary Rep++ to anyone who can tell me what movie from which my user title is culled.
What drum pack do you use for FL rob? I can never find a good realistic one, although I think actually being good with the program would help.
Drumkit from Hell would be the best one. Designed by Thomas Haake.

I use most of those plus the hip hop kick from the pack that comes with the program, since the kicks on the DKFH sound triggered, and the combination sounds great.

Here's a song I'm working on getting recorded for my band and I use the Drumkit from Hell plus the other kick. It's just guitar and the program.

Moses 07-25-2005 12:36 PM

You can get it off limewire. I'd upload it but my sister is begging me to use the computer.

Dried Muffin Remnants 07-25-2005 12:57 PM

Hey GMac, thanks a lot for the upload. On Arizona Bay I especially enjoyed the Dinosaur/stupid christian segment.

Holy crap... my IQ is dangeriously low... :(

Since we are on the topic of drums, I have a question for anyone that can help me out here. I am doing a recording of some songs, and I don't really have access to a drummer. I need to get a drumtrack for Layla (Unplugged) but I don't know what program I can use to make something that sounds like it. It is in 12/8 time. I am a guitar player, and I don't know that much about drum programs or anything, so if anyone could suggest something for me that would be great.

Syncratic 07-25-2005 02:41 PM

Did you guys see the post in the guitar forum about Teleincision?

People need to inform themselves.

Mr Benners 07-25-2005 02:56 PM

So then Jake/G Mac... I have given in to the Cog whoring going on and downloaded the Just Visiting EPs and WOAH are they good. The music is very well thought out and conveys a sense of intelligence akin to Tool. I'll have to listen to them a few more times to fully get a grip on them, but first impressions are very promising. I'm VERY keen to hear more, so I'm wondering is the album readily available here in the UK, or is it an import/download affair?

(Sorry this isn't really Tool related :p)

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-25-2005 03:55 PM

I'm not sure if it's available in the UK. I know it's obviously been released in Australia, and now it's out in the US, but if I were you, just download the album and keep an eye out for it.

clearvision 07-25-2005 03:59 PM

Alritey then, thanks very much for introducing me to them and the help.

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-25-2005 04:47 PM

I'm downloading it, but what is it, Ben?

I just recorded Hush, minus the solo. I have it down, but I need delay. :upset:

EDIT: I got it, sounds dandy. Now let's hear what it sounds like slathered in distortion! :p

Its me playing tool chords unamped.

Think of this as momentous rather than of any actual significance towards Tool.

Yet.

Syncratic 07-25-2005 05:00 PM

AJIG, you are almost as cryptic as Blair in that post.

Is it me, or does the guy in the new newsletter playing with the Barbie look like Paul D'Amour?
