Obituary and Sadus would be a great, great concert.
Yeah, it was killer. Sadus blew away Obituary though. Certain Death was sooo brutal live. |
So I just picked up Kreator's Pleasure To Kill and I must say that it is one of the most awesome fucking thrash albums I have ever heard. I'd say that it's now in my top five thrash albums along with Time Does Not Heal, Hell Awaits, The New Order, and Beneath The Remains.
The break down thing on Under the Guillotine is sheer awesomeness.
So I got the new Sodom cd the other day.
Will comment later when I'm done listening to everything else I bought :p |
That album is great.
I thought it was just okay. Too melodic for my tastes.
NP: Massacre - Cryptic Realms |
Bah, nothing wrong with melody :p
NP: Massacre - Cryptic Realms
Nice album that. Not the most original stuff ever, but solid none the less. Awesome production job and Kam Lee's vocals are right up there with the best. Although it's Remains, not Realms :p |
WTF, I'm watching a video of Kreator playing Riot of Violence. Ventor singing... I take it he did the singing on the album for that song as well?
Yeah.
I always figured it was just Mille just changing his vocal style...

Although it's Remains, not Realms :p
Well that's what happens when you download crap from people. Idiots! The guitar tone is most definately one of the best I've heard, very evil. I can't stand Morbid Angel, but I saw this really old video of them from '87, which seemed pretty cool. So, I decided to look around at some of their earlier stuff, and I got their 1986 album that wasn't released until 1991. Very old school Death/Thrash. Much better than thier later stuff |
Ah, Abominations Of Desolation? I haven't checked that out yet. I am lazy.
I always figured it was just Mille just changing his vocal style...
tsk tsk someone hasn't been reading their Pleasure To Kill booklet |

Yeah, it's pretty great. The drummer at the time is singing on it. He actually sounds a bit like Mille. You should try to find it. NP: Morbid Angel - Angel of Disease from '86 |
There's a killer video of Morbid Angel on youtube playing Chapel of Ghouls with their old drummer singing the song. It's pretty good aside from the quality.
Yeah, that's the video I saw. I wouldn't have ever thought it was Morbid Angel, because I actually thought it was good! I only like Altars of Madness, because it's old school. I personally think eveything else blows.
Blessed are the Sick, I thought was really good. I've heard other material, and own Covenant... I don't like it much. I actually should delete it, I listened to it once and didn't like it.
They have some really bad material :-\
I like the first two, and Covenant is alright.
Has anyone read the lyrics to Sauron's Poser Holocaust? Great lyrics. They need to release this new material... if they have, I need to get my hands on it.
They haven't released it yet, though I think they have finished recording it.
Anyone here heard of Nocturnus? Old school Death/Thrash. It's like Atheist meets Coroner, with a bit of Possessed and keyboards at times. It's killer.
NP: Nocturnus - Standing In Blood |
I have been meaning to get The Key for a long time.
Yeah, The Key is great. Pretty damn evil stuff.
NP: Rush - Making Memories (My all time favorite song by them!) |
good to see an old reg posting here again.
Yeah, what happened to everyone? It seems like they all just died
yeah. I think when the thread started to slow down a lot of people just stopped coming.
I'm gonna make my first post in this thread, I'm a "thrash-boy" at heart, so I couldn't really neglect a thread like this. Behold, in my opinion, the greatest live thrash band anno 2005; Testament. Here are clips from their Live In London DVD. A MUST buy...

I'm also a fan of Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Coroner, Kreator and a few others. |
Nice.
Cool, cool. I have that DVD, it's great.
NP: Pantera - Takin' My Life (From the Glam days) This is probably the ultimate song to have sex to |
