I was just listening to Presence, and I just realized that is better than people give it credit for. It really is not bad, and Page really has some nice work on the album.

/achilies last stand

and there's some other pretty good songs on there.

. Talking about Led Zeppelin in this thread. I'm very angry at you and now myself because i'm talking about them.

lunch998 01-07-2005 10:49 PM

Yea but we never talk about Presence. Aside from the fact the Achilles is a song that has the power to make a whole album good, the other songs are worth listening to. For Your Life, Royal Orleans, Nobody's Fault But Mine, and Tea For One are all really good.

Seafroggys 01-07-2005 10:49 PM

Oh yes, btw, electrical outputs was AC/DC.....it was the first thin ghtat came to my mind, but I should have said wattage converter.

And that big ball factory in the background is a souped up one that my brother's been working on for like four years. Its about four times the volume and size of the original now.

jpj 01-08-2005 08:53 AM

Tonight I might be going to a laser show set to Rush music at The Buhl Planetarium in Pittsburgh, and it should be pretty cool. A few years ago I saw a Pink Floyd show like it, and it was crazy.

lunch998 01-08-2005 10:00 AM

That should be sweet. How far are you from Pitt?

jpj 01-08-2005 10:01 AM

Like 45 minutes, I go there a lot.

lunch998 01-08-2005 10:04 AM

They have that awesome drum store that I want to go to. Drum World or something.

jpj 01-08-2005 10:08 AM

I didn't know that. I have seen Condom World though, it's really close to the Roberto Clemente Bridge.

lunch998 01-08-2005 10:12 AM

All the more reason to go there.

jpj 01-08-2005 10:13 AM

It's kind of weird, I've just walked by and looked in the window. There were a bunch of old guys flipping through dirty magazines.
It's kind of weird, I've just walked by and looked in the window. There were a bunch of old guys flipping through dirty magazines.
That's going to be you one day. Maybe we should start talking about classic rock?

jpj 01-08-2005 10:17 AM

Maybe....um..........do you like Led Zeppelin?

lunch998 01-08-2005 10:20 AM
Maybe....um..........do you like Led Zeppelin?
Never heard of them.

jpj 01-08-2005 10:22 AM

I figured, they're pretty underground.

lunch998 01-08-2005 10:27 AM

Pass It On(Straight Ahead) on Jimi Live at Berkely is a great song. Actually that whole CD is awesome.

jpj 01-08-2005 10:32 AM

Yea, that is awesome. Have you heard Jimi Hendrix: Blues? It's definitely worth a listen.

lunch998 01-08-2005 10:38 AM

Only a few songs from it. I should probably get that soon.

jpj 01-08-2005 10:49 AM

I got it for Christmas, and every song is absolutely amazing.

lunch998 01-08-2005 11:01 AM

I'd probably like it since I really like Voodoo Chile.

My post count=coolest year in music.

DeusExMachina 01-08-2005 11:10 AM

What's on Hendrix: Blues?

BludgeonySteve 01-08-2005 12:35 PM

Yeah, but like, does he perform blues standards, or his own songs, or unreleased material, or what?

I'm guessing it's most of the blues songs he played during his career, covers or original ones.

DeusExMachina 01-08-2005 01:09 PM

Alright. Thanks.

Badmoon 01-08-2005 01:36 PM

I relistened to the Terrapin solo, Thickasabrick. Great picking and very unique, at least when talking about Garcia :thumb:

thickasabrick 01-08-2005 01:41 PM

so it was Garcia playing that solo? He's damn good.

and who the hell did you guys vote for in the albums poll? i found it very hard to choose, so i went with the Chili Peppers album.

Most of them are covers, but they're some originals too.

I voted for RHCP.

Eh, I'm a newbie to the whole album reviewing thing, can I just review the CD I want to or do I have to check with some higher authority first. (Yes I know not to review a CD that has already been reviewed :))

BludgeonySteve 01-08-2005 02:05 PM

Naw. But check this http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139438 to make sure it hasen't been done before.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-08-2005 02:40 PM

I was debating Woodstock or Bob Dylan's 6th bootleg. Good choice?

jpj 01-08-2005 02:42 PM

I'd say definitely a good choice. $17 is a pretty good price too compared to what I've seen it as.

Way to contribute to the conversation, noob.

Anyhow, Truth is a solid album. It's not as good as Blow by Blow, but it's good nonetheless.
