I recently found two metalcore bands that I find great.
This Or The Apocalypse www.myspace.com/thisortheapocalypse I like to think of these guys kind of being a mix between August Burns Red and Maylene. They have all of ABG's awesome breakdowns, good metalcore riffs, and great drumming (my drummer friend said it was even better), but with a bit more melody at points. They aren't really southern at all, but the Maylene comparison comes from the thrash metal riffs. Maybe Metallica would be better suited or something, but they do have something of an old school feel at parts. And no shitty singing! Shinto Katana www.myspace.com/shintokatana These guys are all about 100% brutality. Meaty, chunky riffs and breakdowns. Reminds me of old school Acacia Strain. Good stuff :) |
I found these guys awhile ago, and have mentioned them before itt. They were good live yesterday, very good. Still were just an appetizer before the meal (ABR). Their cd Monuments is solid, too, though. |
that band is so ****ing bad
omg their cover art is horrible and they have less than half as many breakdowns as ABR, they sukk!!
i do hate when things dont have enough breakdowns
The pit yesterday was insane for ABR, I was loling. It died fast though, they got tired
pits dont die at the shows i go to
because PA HARDCORE ALWAYS MAKING HARDCORE HISTORYUUUU |
anyone listen to sikth
wtf
This Or The Apocalypse isn't bad for generic stuff. I haven't gotten any Shinto Katana yet, but I may.
I put This Or The Apocalypse on the same page as August Burns Red.
It's nothing new, nothing you haven't heard. But it's written well, played well, and it's fun to listen to. |
Prettymuch.
i got news that botch is srsly thinking of a reunion
It wouldn't be a bad idea, people would probably eat that up.

I dunno that you can rip off a band that is already super generic. They are both just not remarkable metalcore bands.

Misery Signals is far superior to For The Fallen Dreams and most other metalcore bands.
Goes without saying that tho' really. They do have ex-members of 7A7P after all.
