sooner or later you'll find out that's why no one likes you
No, it's DEFINITELY his awful personality.

YDload 01-25-2008 02:58 PM

new avatar its a girl playing bass cause thats a cool thing

Ed Wood 01-25-2008 03:11 PM

omg is she USING A PICK?!?!?!?!?!

Neoteric 01-25-2008 03:23 PM

kim gordon uses a pick

and kim deal

YDload 01-25-2008 03:23 PM

all girl bassists use picks. they fingers arent strong enough (though amazingly they can usually get the fretting right)

Neoteric 01-25-2008 03:25 PM

if they played the bass with their fingers they'd break a nail!

YDload 01-25-2008 03:30 PM

bass-playin girls dont have no nails

but ironically, heterosexual men will often grow long nails to play classical guitar

Neoteric 01-25-2008 03:37 PM

my mum works in a college teaching hairdressing and she works in the same department as the make-up and beauty classrooms. apparently this guy came up to her and asked her for fake nails because he's learning classical guitar, lol.

Ed Wood 01-25-2008 04:06 PM

whats funny about that

Neoteric 01-25-2008 04:08 PM

a heterosexual male wearing fake long nails

whats not funny about that

StaticSynth 01-25-2008 04:13 PM

Everything is funny about that.

Ed Wood 01-25-2008 04:21 PM

probably lots of people that play classical do that

at least if they dont actually want to grow nasty long nails

Neoteric 01-25-2008 04:24 PM

i can't fingerpick at all heh.

YDload 01-25-2008 05:55 PM

i found the greatest band name ever but it's some goon's username on SA so i cant actually take credit for it:

Bloody Holly

ARGH i want to be the one who had thought of it first :(

Neoteric 01-25-2008 06:07 PM

hey don't steal my band's name

ATM 01-26-2008 12:05 AM

Cornelius was ****ing ridiculous.

sgrevs 01-26-2008 12:09 AM
Badass. Did they play a good set?
They played:

Prisimism
Snare Hangar
TIJ
Song from an EP I'm guessing, because I didn't know it.
Tonto
Atlas
Race: In

Edit: Oh man Cornelius live would be sweet. Never in Australia though:(

ATM 01-26-2008 12:13 AM

Seriously, that was the best show I've ever seen.

The only thing bringing me down was some of the morons in the crowd.

I thought only cool people listen to Cornelius.

Neo: Could well have been, I have no idea though.

Other/related news: I had such a great night, saw LCD Soundsystem, and they were amazing, lots of dancing and fun etc. As I was walking out, 3/4 of Battles were just standing around, and I just gaped at them for a while. Then when I finally worked up the courage to, I went and said hi and i'm sure i was babbling like a fool and i was wearing my Battles shirt and Ty said he liked my shirt and Dave was really nice and happy and john's a miserable bastard and i think i'm still shaking from it.

Sorry about that, I'm just in shock.

haha I know the feeling. Like after seeing a band, and they come hang out in the crowd and you want to say something. That's cool that you got to chat with them.

As far as the crowd at Cornelius, I thought the same thing. I had this goofy white guy with dreads next to me who said something along the lines of "This is like Mars Volta meets trance!" and then his friend goes "This is like Fugazi meets Disco Biscuits!"

The guy with dreads was like "Who are Fugazi?"

HOW DO YOU GO SEE A SHOW IN DC AND NOT KNOW FUGAZI!?

sweboy 01-26-2008 11:03 AM

O:

I hope you adjusted your thick indie nerd glasses, rolled your eyes and exchanged "lol what a noob" looks with everyone around.
Cornelius was ****ing ridiculous.
Yeah, tell me about it. Did they do the thing in the beginning with the flashing lights behind each person making a silhouette on a big white screen? If you don't know what I'm talking about, it's hard to describe. It was so cool though. And the videos synced with the music. Was easily one of the greatest things I'd ever seen.

perriwinkle 01-26-2008 11:26 AM

**** these mother ****ers who wouldnt drive up to dc god damn AAAAAHHHH **** i cant believe i missed this! the worst part is that later on that evening at around 7:30 my friend jeff -- who was basically my last hope, after that afternoon i had smoked him out and played Sensuous which we both thoroughly enjoyed but he said he didn't want to go because he had just gone to DC last weekend -- was like "man... we should have gone.." and i was like WELL LETS GO WE STILL HAVE TIME ARE YOU SERIOUS??? and hes like no man no way its way too late man no way **** what a ****ing teetering fool can't make a decision. i offered to pay for his ticket too

Liebensaft 01-26-2008 11:30 AM

I am terribly sorry. You shouldn't have to wait more than a year for another opportunity.
