It has a mic, and because it runs off USB, it actually records! So ill take advantage of the next free day I get home alone |
No, Im definiatly not going to have anything to do with organizing this. This part of the forum is the only part I feel like Im an actual user, the last thing I want is to organize this. I vote for Thursday, 10 pm to 1am EST.

W00t for AJIG recordings, I will hopefully buy a bass today, so i will pwn you all with my skillz.
And i wont have to wait for JoZ to record aenima for me :p, I will fruity loop the drums, then rob = pwner. If you make it a little later i could getout of bed for this chat thing, lol. |
What drum pack do you use for FL rob? I can never find a good realistic one, although I think actually being good with the program would help.
|
I am up for this AIM thing I am MxRothmans

I haven't started using it yet, my mate uses the standard ones and it sounds good. I have no clue on how to go about using the program, but it shouldn't be too difficult lol. Only problem is I'm not gonn ahve my bass in time for the cover competition i don't think. Drumkit from hell is meant to be something special though...I think dancing man uses that, i'll hit him up next time he is on slsk/aim. |
Seth and I play Aenema quite a bit. When I get back from the beach well hit the studio and get some of this stuff recorded.

I'll just roam through his many files on slsk till i find it :) It must be available for dload somewhere on the net... |
What about the program called Propellerheads Reason? I downloaded it twice but neither version has worked. Im going to just officially "BUY" it. All of the reviews I have heard about this program say it is phenominal and is one of the best programs available to actually create electronic and accoustical music.
|
I got FL for free, my sister borrowed it from her boyfriend, so I took it on a CD drive detour. Getting a realistic pack is easier than looking for another, as im acoustomed to FL now, even if its not designed for the purpose im using it for.

Never heard, sorry. |
Hey Ken, have you heard Porcupine Tree - The Creator Has a Mastertape?.. I read earlier in the thread that you enjoy using ghost notes.. That song has the most inticrate(sp?) drum pattern filled with ghost notes
|
WEre can I download aim?

Yup, Im a Porcupine Tree fan actually. I love Ghost noting, it adds so much feel to a song. I woke up for work an hour early this morning, went into my studio at 5 am, cranked up some Tool/APC/Deftones/and Rage through the PA and had my morning workout! You can download AIM at www.aol.com (Im pretty sure this is the addy). If not just google AIM download. |
Drumkit from Hell works good. On Catch 33, due to time constraints and such, instead of recording the drums, Thomas Haake took samples of each piece of his kit, and made the beats for each song in Drumkit from Hell.
|
hmmm what all kind of options does DKFH have? I guess my question is how editable is the .wav files (or however they are saved). I guess Im looking for a review of it or a comparison to Cool Edit Pro or Audacity.
|
I though DKFH was just a sample package? Oh well, as long as its sounds good.
|
I have drumkit from hell 2.. But it doesn't work properly, I think it's because I only have 512 mb of ram.. And it uses a gig
|
You need Cubase to use it, so I really don't know that much about it. I just know that it is the top-of-the-line drum program.
Fruity Loops works fine for me. :p |
You do't need cubase to use dkfh, you can use any sequencer.. Fruity loops too
|
ahhhh so its not an actual editing program. If you want realistic drum sounds I literally have thousands of them on my computer, I can send them to whomever wants them when I am on a broad band which will be tomm and wednesday. You can tell me what your looking for and I can look it up and send it to you via chat. I literally have just about EVERY drum sound you could want.
|
The thing about drumkit from hell, is that not only does it have every drum sound you can imagine.. It's also set up so it sounds more realistic.. For example, when you use the snare.. It'll use three samples that sound almost the same, at random, so it sounds kind of human
|
I could probably go for a snare, a couple toms, crash, hi hat, and bass for Fruity Loops.
Well, since you have EVERYTHING, do you have a nice djembe sound? :p |
Yea, I have tons of the stuff. I'll get with ya on chat tomm. and send you some stuff. I'll send ya a half a dozen snares, kicks, toms, cymbals, hats, djembes, congas, quintas, marimbas so you can choose which ones fit the music the best.
Also, when I get the Handsonic I'll have several hundred more sounds. From what I have heard the Handsonic sounds are much better than the SPDS sounds. I can even record my Sonors for ya. |

I take it you have it then? And ken, if you could be kind enough to zip up a folder of some drum samples and upload, that would be awesome. I always struggle to find good sounding cymbals and snares |
Thanks in advance. :p Since I'm actually starting to use Fruity Loops for a song I'm writing, real samples would own even more!
Oh, and Ken, I just spammed your user CP. :p |
Not a problem man. Ill have to do it tomm tho. All of the stuff is top notch and I have played the majority of it live. Alot of times I'll blend in an electronic sound at the mixer with the snare or kick on my 3005's to make it sound a little fuller at some venues. Every sound patch I have is an actual professional level patch that was designed to be used live or in a studio. I'll put together a list of what I have, you guys kinda decide what ya want, I'll put it all in a zip file and send it to everyone.
