I think the new guy looks like a monkey
|
hey man jason didnt live up to cliff no one can but they were lookin for somebody who has been around the block i mean rob has played with ozzy
|
they should have got the guy from the cult he was good
|
Breadfan is a song from the garage inc. album, originally recorded by thin lizzy!
7. Breadfan - (originally recorded by Budgie) :) |
Rob is talented but I won't accept him as Metallica, after hearing St. Anger there is no metallica. It died several years ago. (cries)
|
fateiscold i agree thats actually wat we were talkin bout earlier i put they died when they hired bob rock and they recorded black album
|
7. Breadfan - (originally recorded by Budgie) :)
My bad thin lizzy did Whiskey in the Jar thanks for the correction though :thumb: |
ya garage inc. was ok but i thought their skynyrd cover was awful
|
My bad thin lizzy did Whiskey in the Jar
thanks for the correction though :thumb:
Haha, it's cool, the only reason I did the correction was because I was looking at Garage Inc on Amazon at the tiime I saw what you said :) |
I think the black album was pretty good. But none can touch AJFA
|
ajfa thats when they got worse listen to kill em all, ride the lightning, master of puppets, and justice for all cutting out one
|
Ok i will say that Kill em all is the best but i think that One is one of their better songs right along with Sanitarium, Battery and Fade to black.
|
Reload is a stellar album too. You cant forget Low man lyrics, unforgivenII, Fuel, and memory remains
|
fateiscold i agree thats actually wat we were talkin bout earlier i put they died when they hired bob rock and they recorded black album
Well I won't say that, because Black Album was still very well written music and some decent solos as well but there is not one solo on St. Anger. I spent so much time listening to that cd hoping that there would be one but to my surprise metallica had sold out. I've lost all respect for the band I loved for so long. |
one more message before i go black album is the beggining of progressive metallica but speed thrash metal died before that
|
St. Anger was an upset. It just isin't Metallica without a solo. Not to metion the riffs weren't even too amazing. St. Anger is a very bad mistake
|
I think St. Anger's a hell of a lot better then anything else they've realesed in the past 10 years (Original Material).
|
Hello the load reload was a hella LOT better then st. anger even given the fact the song "mama said" was on there it was still better then st. anger and i mean the new stuff that was released on S&M was better then the entire crappy album.
i mean cmon at least no leaf clover had a solo in it /anger |
What should their next cd be like? I say go back to the black album style. St Anger was kinda disappointing without the solos and stuff.
|
There were problems with St. Anger, obviously, but overall it wasn't bad.
Alot better then Load/ReLoad, in my opinion. |
ya there definitely need to be some decent solos on the new album. I dunno, i kinda hope they throw in a power ballad or two.

(metallica bashing time (sort of))
Wow, what was that entire attack on Warlock?? Sure he did push it coming into a metallica thread full of non-admiting but self-hating fan boys (most of you are, considering you can't handle a minor opinion or second theory from a faceless stranger on the net), trying to promote an OPINION (something im sure he "forgot" to mention). Never really a big fan of Megadeth, I was never bothered to find out much about Dave apart from what I know about his history in Metallica. Of course, that bit of BIASED info is that hes a really dick. Thing is, I'm open minded (forgive the self praising) and i can accept the fact that what i think is WRONG because i have only read into one side of the opinion, force fed by Metallica (coincidently Daves opposing band) so any opinion i lay about Dave will be half true. Knowing all of this, I still think hes a dick. But everyone else.... They are NOT open minded to their own attitude. This is how you're supposed to act (think of it as brainwashing) courtesy of Metallica. Metallica is a great band and has great musicians, but they have grown attatched to their fame and money IMO. Thinking of it from a different way, imagine James and Lars sitting on a chair, laughing and drinking and smoking $100 cigars pointing at people bashing Dave regardless of the truth or such. Enjoying the fun, the defect they've taken advantage of. Metallica are self admitting assholes, and proud also. The chance that they actually did do that scenerio IMO is way more than the chance they didn't do that. Metallica aren't some innocent band members faced by evil Dave whos out to get them because thats how Dave wants to spend 20 years of his entire life, fighting a non sensical issue. People generalize way to much on the stuff that matters, and look way too much into stuff that has little influence over anything. Metallica are NOT innocent when it comes to thing like fame, popularity etc. eg. lars stole the name metallica. Oooh, but what fanboy wants to raise that issue? No matter what they say, they sold out to commercialist ways of life (videos, radio). They can say whatever (we weren't ready), but the outrightly contradicted their principles, all for money. And people believe every word they say, all in the love of MOP and FTB. You're practically spelling it out yourself, FAN BOYS. This of course does not apply to most of you. Only people that will do what they're "meant" to do like robots. Metallica pays thousands of dollers to make people act like that, to make them their bitches. This sounds like a TOK essay (theory of knowledge)..... Lots of people don't think logically when it comes to dealing with issues that don't involve them. Theres way more to the Dave/James issue that no one will ever know, and frankly, its none of our business. Get out of your sugar coated metal dream and realize whats actually probably (contradictry...) going on. |
You realise, both me and munky are Megadeth fans, so we know the story from both sides. You did research, right?
Oh, nevermind, just let the hypocrisy reign. |
IMO i don't like the new bassist Rob. I just don't think he could live up to Cliff. Does anyone agree?
Comparing him to Cliff isn't fair. He's a great performer. Edit: Sorry again. It keeps loading the unrecent posts and showing them as recent or something. |
I said this only applies to certain people, not in this thread, but in general.
I did get harsh on the fanboy stuff, but a lot of people need to know that about themselves. No one was targeted, and you and munky don't even count. Parden my harsh but humble opinion. |

Parden my harsh but humble opinion.
Well, me and Munky were two of the 4 or so main people flaming Warlock directly, and Munky even took him to the official Megadeth thread. It's not that we were sticking up for Metallica, his accusations were false and miseducated. |
lol Chu, if you know anything about my posts, its that somehow, i love to indicate the faults of the human character and nature.
I already told you this has nothing really to do with you. Its to do with people who claim not to be fan boys to escape that label, but they'll walk around with their eyes and ears shut and just do whatever Metallica tells them. And people who keep ragging on Dave. Seems like a nice guy from Megadeth. He was an ******* in Metallica. |
I dont think Metallicas next album will sound like St Anger, I think they realized after all it was not a great album. I read an old issue of Guitar World magazine where Bob Rock(the 5th member) was talking about how he wanted to have a stripped down type of sound and so on. I think with 1.James being in Rehab 2. Jason leaving 3. Finding a new bassist all of these things happening caused them to lose focus and become even more dependant on Bob to straighten things out. Bob did straighten a lot of it out and played the bass lines and help find a new bassist and basically put the whole album together. He is like a bigger brother to them. But he needs to GO!! It would be so interesting to hear them with another producer. I think the next album will be different and sound better than St Anger.
I saw them last year and the song Frantic totally kicks A** in concert, Also I think the first few minutes of the song Some of Monster is cool but other than that..........They will get it right next time out......I hope |
