Oh, you mean the intro that Mike Oldfield composed and which opens his landmark debut Tubular Bells, which was then used by the producers of The Exorcist to open their movie, and probably used by Possessed without them knowing the original creator.

Great band though. There's a fantastic energy flowing through every second of Seven Churches.

heh. It's a bloody amazing intro.

RainShadow 05-18-2006 08:41 AM

how do you join clans? I want in.

Bazarov 05-18-2006 02:41 PM

Clans were long ago. Probably before I even joined, because I remember seeing this thread when I first came around and was going... hey, what clans?

/is downloading bewitched.

Riva 05-18-2006 05:00 PM

It was a trend back in '03, I think.

FatalEnergy 05-18-2006 06:53 PM

The clans were around when I joined, and then just kind of died after that

NP: Sanctuary - Future Tense

You don't need to join, you're free to post anything related to thrash in this thread.

Freezing Moon 05-21-2006 11:44 PM

I have decided that A.R.G. - Entrance is fucking great.

NP: A.R.G. - R.I.P.

FatalEnergy 05-22-2006 12:11 AM

Have you guys heard Ritual Carnage? Hella Brutal. Demolition Hammer style. Those Japanese can really thrash.

NP: Ritual Carnage - The Birth of Tragedy

Apocalyptic Raids 05-22-2006 12:24 AM

I'll check them out, Demolition Hammer are quite good.

Look for Every Nerve Alive. I found that album to be their best. The Birth of Tragedy is quite good too.

NP: Invocator - Excursion Demise

Has anyone heard these guys? Great Danish thrash. Pretty Technical. Reminds me of Atheist at times

Local thrash band.

Hello, today I just got paid and am going to stop putting off my goal of picking up one of Testaments albums, any suggestions?

Nepenthe 05-22-2006 05:00 PM

Souls Of Black and The New Order are strong all the way through, but Practice What You Preach has my favorite Testament song on it. I'd go with any of those.

If you want newer Testament, The Gathering is the way to go.

AA-12 05-22-2006 05:02 PM

Any Skrewdriver fans? They are crossover/closer to punk though.

Me.

Bazarov 05-22-2006 05:19 PM

Anyone like Metal Onslaught? I discovered them about a month ago, and their probably my favorite crossover band right now.

Also, I'm going to have to check out that A.R.G. I downloaded 2 of their songs last night, and it was awesome. As well as that Ritual Carnage. Also that skrewdriver.

AA-12 05-22-2006 05:23 PM
Me.
Nice, i've been listening to them all day. Some people around me seem to hate them though, haha.

Skrewdriver isn't really anything close to thrash, it's like, NS/White Power music, haha.

A.R.G. rules indeed.

Why am I not suprised?

I've heard Practice What You Preach before, and I dig it, what album is the song Electric Crown on?

AA-12 05-22-2006 05:25 PM

Just wondering, are you NS and/or WN?

EDIT: To FM.

Bazarov 05-22-2006 05:27 PM

Oh, well I'll still check them out, maybe. Lyrics only bother me when they're overly stupid.

Freezing Moon 05-22-2006 05:28 PM

I agree with lots of the ideals and some other things, I don't consider myself anything really, I wouldn't go around advertising those as my political views or anything though.

What's WN? White Nationalist?

Well, this stuff is seems to be mostly about the lyrics.

Ah, nice to see accepting people. I'm pretty much 100% WN and merging into the NSM system slowly.

EDIT: Yeah, White Nationalist.

Cease to Exist was a fun album. I haven't listened to it for a long time though.

Bazarov 05-22-2006 06:20 PM

Yeah, it's a great album. Too bad they don't have any other material. I mean album wise. I'm not really interested in their demo.

Corporal Compendia 05-22-2006 06:27 PM

Ah Come oooon. Demos are sometimes the best thing a band does. Just look at Soothsayer's To Be a Real Terrorist Demo. Better than Have A Good Time, though that was a good album.

... I can't vouch for Metal Onslaught's demo though. Haven't heard it.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-22-2006 07:12 PM

I listen to Heathen's new demo more than the albums.

Freezing Moon 05-22-2006 07:36 PM

Demos are great, I think a lot of time they (along with EP's) are a bands most concentrated, best work becuase they're trying hard to get recognition and there isn't much filler.

Wehrmacht demos are better than the albums too.

Apocalyptic Raids 05-22-2006 07:39 PM

Yeah, EPs are especially good like that.

Haunting The Chapel and Thuringian Pagan Madness are prime examples.
