Looks a little sloppy to me but overall well done :)
|
your grip is awful.
your grip is awful.
It's called Chinese Hand Under Grip. |
drinking during a show seriously hinders your playing.
i suggest an alternative. 1) get cocaine. 2) make a big line of cocaine that goes all away the edge of your ride cymbal. 3) put nose against edge of ride cymbal. 4) inhale through the nose while spinning the cymbal |
you drink like a girl.
personally i prefer the foam dome when playing. |
Jezen, YOU always used to use your toms in the opposite order :)
Yeah I know. It was stupid. |
how is that stupid?
OH NO I HAVE TO MAKE A CONSCIOUS EFFORT WHEN ROLLING AROUND THE TOMS. if i had a 5 piece i would have the bigger on the left. |
It is stupid because the drumkit is supposed to be a musical instrument, not an athletic challenge.
It is unergonomical. |
It is stupid because the drumkit is supposed to be a musical instrument, not an athletic challenge.
It is unergonomical.
athletic challenge? thats a stretch. i don't know about your playing, but when i play on a 5 piece, i rarely play around the toms in order. |
It is stupid because the drumkit is supposed to be a musical instrument, not an athletic challenge.

Oh I know. I don't know if you have been following, but what i'm saying is that it is illogical to make it more difficult for yourself, which is what hundreds, maybe thousands of players do. |
LOL RICK ROLL LOLOLOLl
|
Oh no I got rickrolled.
|
Oh I know. I don't know if you have been following, but what i'm saying is that it is illogical to make it more difficult for yourself, which is what hundreds, maybe thousands of players do.
So making it so my hand has to move less is making it MORE difficult? You fail at logic. |
wait i dont get how having them switched makings it more physically demanding
isn't having them in order physically demanding if you go from 12 to 10 to 14? |
No?
isn't having them in order physically demanding if you go from 12 to 10 to 14?
Well if that's what you really want to do.. |
Jezen, just shut up and stop arguing. Setup is personal and effective to individual players (within reason, obviously) and you're not getting anywhere. You're just making yourself look like a pompous kid with a rod up his arse.
|
What's your problem Phil? I'm not belittling anyone, i'm expressing my opinion.
|
make it a hihat rod, this is a drummer forum
get on topic phil |
tbh its a goofy argument but it isnt that big of a deal. i play a 4 piece, so i could care less.
|
Actually you are expressing your opinion as a truth, not mere personal thoughts. And therefore are inherently belittling those who disagree with you.

You are also failing to note some very important factors with playing drums, such as - New setups can, and often will trigger new ideas. No matter what you say about ergonomics in playing, the TRUTH is, there are amazing players out there, far better then you or I that use setups we both may, and probably would find, very uncomfortable to use. What does this tell us? That the setup itself seems to not make much of a difference so long as it does not cause physical harm to the player. |

I have noticed that myself, and believe that falls under the question of - Does it cause harm?
If it doesn't cause any harm, such as wrist issues.. then so be it. With newer drummers, it is important they learn the technique of striking the drum. From there, they can develop there personal style of setting up. I coach my students to be comfortable, starting at the throne height and balance. From there, setup around them the drums. Some have toms in descending order, some mix it up, some use 2 racks and floor, some 1 rack and 2 floors. Etc The order of the toms makes almost no difference at all, that's pure personal preference. |
seems to me that what he's getting at is out of order toms are the devil
but i haven't read much of the posts |
made a hat clamp out of tape just now

Damn. This is still going on?
I've eaten a lot of fiber today. |
