In the Absence of Truth is my favorite Isis album so far.
|

anyway I got The River's album. It's great :D
Crap, I still don't have that. I'll go look into ordering it now. |
Albatross is my favorite Corrosion of Conformity song, it's so great on their live cd.
|
Anyone seen the Isis dvd?
I'm curious about that too. np: ahab - Below The SUn \m/ |
Anyone seen the Isis dvd?
I'm curious about that too. np: ahab - Below The SUn \m/
Isis DVD sounds like it would be pretty cool. I'll look it up when I get home from school. Great Doom issue yesterday. :thumb: Lots of stuff I didn't have on there. |
Indeed.
I loved the issue too. :) np: Mar De Grises - El Otro Hell yeah'\m/ |
The double Sahgage made it legendary.
|
Anybody listen to Khanate or Mare? There's some doom stuff.
And are the Melvins considered stoner rock? |
Mare is great, Khanate...I have mixed feelings about.
Actually, I'm wearing a Mare shirt right now. Melvins are gods in many stoner rock circles, so I'd say yes. |
I love the Melvins.
|
I downloaded Senile Animal, I still need to get around to listening to it.
|
Cool. Yea I'm diggin' the Melvins, the new one is pretty cool.
|
Cool. Yea I'm diggin' the Melvins, the new one is pretty cool.
I'll have to check it out then. If they're anything at all like Spiritual Beggars I'll probably love it. |
Spiritual Beggars is killer.
|
They're pretty cool.
|
They* don't sound much like Melvins, though.
EDIT for accuracy: *that one Spiritual Beggars song I heard some four years ago. |
Right. They're better than the Melvins. :p
|
Hell no!
|
I'm not too big on the Melvins.
|
I guess I am.
|
Right. They're better than the Melvins. :p
Blasphemy! Although Spiritual Beggars are quite good, The Melvins are gods of the genre. I was listening to Kyuss all through one of my tech classes today. The program I wrote acted as if it was completely stoned in consequence. |
so i just found this wonderful band by the name of Zebulon Pike. methinks you fellows should locate songs by this group.

I'll start browsing. Zebulon Pike was the name of an American frontiersman in the 19th century. Fact. |
Oversoul, anyone?
|
So, uh, what's the deal with that stoner rock?
|
I'm almost done listening to Wall of Sleep "Sun Faces Apostles" It's really good.
|
I should buy Clearing the Eye. It's sitting in a store a mile away right now.
My last downloaded stoner albums are Kyuss - ...And the Circus Leaves Town and The Sword - Age of Winters. |

I'm listening to Winter right now. They're great.
|
After listening to Kyuss's Blues for the Red Sun a few times, I've decided I like Kyuss, but their singer is a little annoying.
|
I'm listening to Winter right now. They're great.
Yeah, they're great. |
I don't like John Garcia sometimes either. It's best when he lets the band jam for extended hours (see: Desert Sessions)
|

Yes please! Great band - I love em! Just got back from the Belgium Doom Night - I don't feel too good! Bands of the night for me were Semlah, The River (who played fantastically) and The Gates of Slumber. Mirror of Deception were also excellent, as were Reverend Bizarre. |
Ghent. At The Frontline.
Ah yes. /late I don't live there, though I've gone there for concerts, I think. Belgium doom \m/ |

Reverend Bizarre + The Gates of Slumber = My current favorite Doom bands. What a bastard

I've been meaning to check out Semlah. I know a guy on DC++ who has some of their stuff, but I keep forgetting to get it.
|
So I'm listening to Lamented Souls.
Gotta love Simen's vocals. Great music. Very good stuff! |
