When you send it out can you send it to me too?

Well unfortunately it's not gonna be this week either.

I've got a 4 day weekend due to the college being closed. I've gotta catch the bus so I'll see you guys later.

To make it up to you Rockoutdudes, I'll also upload the alternate version off of my STTA box set when I get back.

Happy thanksgiving guys.:)

Have a grea thanksgiving

Nostalgia 11-23-2005 09:44 PM

What are you guys doing for thanksgiving? I'm going to be anti-social because my dad invited loser people over how bout you?

Britton 11-23-2005 09:48 PM

I'm gonna lock myself in a room and listen to Slayer

Brings back the memories :smoke:

Britton 11-23-2005 09:52 PM

Naw I was kidding about that. I'm playing guitar for some sorta charity thingy...
I'm not really sure what it is. My mom asked me to play and I said yes

Bazarov 11-23-2005 09:52 PM
Yeah, the lyrics to it are great too
Yeah, I think Kerry did a good job with lyrics to that song as well.

For Turkey-Day, I'm going to Home-Town Buffet. My dad procrastinated on getting Thanksgiving food, and by the time we went to get a turkey and such, everything was gone.

From the Slayer Q&A:
Tom, how long have you been playing bass? And how long after that until you switched to using a pick? Did it take some time to get used to? Do you ever stop in a music store and pick up some of the bass sheet music available for Slayer and say "What the fuck? I don't play that note there! Who transcribed this shit? ass clown!"
asked by Skydive Jumptown on Thursday, May 30, 2002

Answer:
along time be playing with slayer for twenty years, while recording reign in blood i started using a pick ,i check it out but thats about it ,
answered by tom on Saturday, June 1 , 2002 7:47 PM
Wow. I thought Tom always used a bass pick. So I guess he can finger pick pretty fast then, I mean look at how fast some of the tracks on Hell Awaits are.

yeah man thats nuts. I thought he always used a pick too. Some of the stuff on SHOW NO MERCY is fast, too thats pretty good. He prqabally started using it because of the spider crawl in raining blood, I think it might be impossible to play that wit your fingers because thats ****ing fast.

*warning slayer noob post ahead*

i got 'seasons in the abyss' not to long ago (and its bloody brilliant) what would you suggest i get for my second slayer album? i was looking for something hard fast and heavy, which iassume is every slayer album

Well not every Slayer album is hard fast and heavy, such as South of Heaven. To me that album kind of bores me. But anyways, Reign in Blood or Hell Awaits has probably their fastest stuff. Show No Mercy has some fast stuff as well.

Poofy 666 11-27-2005 02:46 PM

i didnt really enjoy South of Heaven but its pretty good anyways
i didnt really enjoy South of Heaven but its pretty good anyways
Yes, I guess it's a good album. It used to be my favorite when I first got into Slayer. But then I got RIB, and it became my favorite. And when I got Hell Awaits and Show No Mercy, I started to forget about SoH. It's just not fast enough for me.

FatalEnergy 11-27-2005 07:55 PM

I love South of Heaven, everyone complains it's too slow, but it's full developed unlike Reign in Blood and it really isn't "slow". I think Tom's voice was the best it ever was on that album too.

It's a good album. I won't say it's crap like Undisputed Attitude or God Hates Us All. But, it just bores me. Anyways, Spill the Blood is awesome.

crap eh? i dunno, i have always liked those albums. well not all of the songs, but in general i think they are good.

I don't know. I just really don't like those albums. GHUA only has 3 or 4 songs I like. And I don't like any off of UA.

Hey, I got RB thanks, its truely a great song :thumb: I was wondering if you were going to upload the whole RIB album, or just RB the song, because I would like the whole CD, but if it is too much of a trouble I will start to look somewhere else for it.

Well I'd love to but the thing is, I've been perm. banned from using my home computer. So when I download stuff, it goes onto my zip disk. When I upload stuff (I did manage to find a way to upload music to the college computers despite their massive security programs) it takes about 1-1.5 hours per song. By the I usually have to go to a class or to work.

I can do it, but I would have to send it to you one song at a time. If you really need the whole album right now, the best thing I can tell you is to buy it because we technically cannot give out entire albums.

i agree, cool song, diverse riffs. i am REALLY into live undead right now, thats such a sweet song. i love in the intro when the second guitar comes in. i always love a song played by one distorted guitar and then another joins it and then the drums come in and stuff. good structure imo

nice pics...I just got a 1st grader into slayer today  i was on the school bus and i was headbanging like a monkey on crack and the kid asks me to let him listen to it and he actually liked Hell Awaits' intro

Bazarov 12-02-2005 10:12 PM

So anyway, my friend brought a magazine to school today, which had an article with Slayer, and said that the album is going to be released March 2006.

Anyways, on Monday I'm going to borrow the Magazine and post exactly what it says. I'm kind of stoked more now, because we now have a month in which it should be released.

Poofy 666 12-02-2005 10:15 PM

No. I didn't read the article. My friend just pointed out the date, and it was during passing period, so I didn't really have time to look around much. But I'm going to post the article around Monday or Tuesday.

I can search the internet. But there used to be a link that was posted of a guy who had hundreds of piercings on his back to form the word "Slayer" onto his back, but the link was bad.

EDIT-I really can't find much, just the guy who had Slayer carved into his arm.

Nostalgia 12-04-2005 06:46 PM

Yea, the guy who carved slayer into his arm is on the the CD on Divine Intervention.

I have no idea, it isn't listed on ESP.

EDIT- Oops! Yes it is.
http://www.espguitars.com/images/gallery/tom_mosh.jpg

His sister owns a clothing store in Whittier, California called Moshpit. So I guess he's advertising her store.

vashts80 12-04-2005 09:22 PM

Man, if they made a fretless version of Araya's bass, I'd buy it instead of a Carvin (whenever I get the cash to lolz). Although, I'm willing to bet a custom ESP to fit the Araya spec, with that Moshpit design would cost 3x the amount a Carvin would cost :\
