Followin Joe's suggestion...
I got nuthin'. :D And I'm bored too- all my supervisors seem to AWOL today and there's really not much for me to do, so I'll just hang out here and make a pest of myself. :) |
I just woke up... I got nothing in my clip board either... I had a long weekend full of work. Took me 5 hours to do the store's newsletter yesterday.. I was multitasking.. doing retail and html.. not fun.

Do you ever have freetime Lr, or do you always have something to do...whether it be work or lessons. Because all you ever talk about is how you're flooded with work

Name: spencer
Age: 22 Location: Lincoln, Nebraska Job/Occupation: In August i return to school for my last year in training to become a luthier (one who makes/repairs stringed instruments). Right now I'm working at a local music shop as just that, and also retail at said shop. i am pretty much also the resident bass player at a local club called knickerbockers. i know the parts to most every local band, seeing as most of them i am quite good friends with. Instruments other than bass played: guitar, mandolin, i dabble in double bass, drums, harmonica, spoons (seriously), and the piano Years playing bass, etc: bass - 11 guitar - 7 piano - 8 mandolin - 4 double bass - 2, but not too seriously drums - 3 harmonica - 5 spoons - 13 (played as a kid when my father and uncle would jam, this being back home in Ireland) How many instruments do you have?: 10 (4 bass, 2 guitar, 1 piano, 2 mandolin, 1 harmonica) What's cool about where you live?: Lincoln is only about 220,000 people so it has that big city feel but at the same time it has that small town feel. i live in downtown, which is just culture, culture, culture. Do you have a car? : not at the moment, as i just moved into an apartment with my wife of 2 weeks (it's still strange saying wife). the apartment is actually in the building right next to where i work so i have no need for a vehicle, and there is a grocery store just down the block so that's covered also. Do you have pets?: yes, the following 1 dog (finnigin) 1 cat (claypool, yes, in honor of the man) 1 boa constricter (snake. simple name. he's about 12 feet long right now) What's in your room?: my bed, dresser, closet, some of my instruments, 2 old amps, and then other typical bedroom stuff for a male and female. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? hopefully my wife and i will still be together, god willing. and i see myself still in Lincoln, because i love it here. after i finish school i'll get one hell of a pay raise and better benefits and maybe even a guaranteed position as 2nd luthier. i see myself just living my life. wow, long. |
Do you ever have freetime Lr, or do you always have something to do...whether it be work or lessons. Because all you ever talk about is how you're flooded with work
Do I ever have free time? Depends on what time of the month it is... If it's towards the end/very beginning of the month.. no not really. My free time is spent on doing html for work.. the newsletter that I write.... When I do get free time... it might be inbetween a student.. because someone didnt show up or something... my actual free time might be like.. after work, and I usually spend that with my BF if I can. But yes.. I am always working. You have to figure I teach several different things, which means I have more students, and I do other jobs for where I work too, like retail when they need me... writing the newsletter... etc. There are many weeks where I work all seven days. It's tough, but I love my job, so that makes it easier to deal with. LR |
i was just in west allis last friday I was going to the brewers game and then saw them slaughter the pittsburgh pirates just desomated them :D
soory lr but thats how it went down if your a fan
Pittsburg sucks. I'm a philadelphia fan. but not the phillies.. they suck too. LR |
I don't know how ya do it and still have time to post in the bass threads. You're really dedicated to your work and that's cool.. When you talk about how busy your life is, it just makes me feel how lazy of a person I am, but hopefully after I'm done with college I'll be as dedicated and motivated as you.
just wish I could get off my *** and make something of myself until then... *shrugs shoulders, picks up bass, starts playing money* |
