The rules help keep idiotic posts/threads, flame wars, and pointless topics being made over and over again. If we didn't have as many rules as we do then this place would be even worse then the pit. I don't honestly care what you do in here so long as you follow the rules. Though if you really want some advice I suggest you retake English and make sure you don't fail this time. :thumb:

Because "the best metal singer" is the most retarded subject I can think of. Best at what? Growling? Clean singing? Screaming? Most talented? Whose voice suits their band's style the best? See how many different interpretations you are. And I told you in your thread as well. Nice to see you can read.

Nope, we have probably 500 ACTIVE members who visit R&M daily, they have no problem with the rules. The rules are here for THEM. Once you become an active member here and see how everything is ran you will LOVE the rules.

opeth_oasis 11-21-2004 02:34 AM

ok lol ill do my best, its just a bit stricter than my usual forum sites but hey this is by far the best one

SonorKen 11-21-2004 02:44 AM

Its the best because we are REALLY strict. There is no reason to make a thread that has been done 1000000 times just to create a thread. If you want to see what everyone thinks of something or who everyone thinks in the best then look at the competitions or spend a few hours reading and you will see. Alot of new people want to come in and post up some miraculous thread that is going to gain them instant populaity. It NEVER Happens. When people post this stuff, everyone flames them, remembers thier name and it takes FOREVER to get them to forget about it.

Don't worry about creating popular threads, read the rules, follow them, spend some time reading and then take off and enjoy yourself. Remember, if you end up with a temp. ban its nothing personal. We enforce the rules really strict, but, by doing this we maintain probably the best musicians forum for true, intellectual discussion on the net.

Welcome to the Forum!

Bleak needed more votes, like it was going to win any ways. :p

And how did you find that out?

Edit : wow, I never knew you clicked on the number of votes to see who voted, I guess you learn something new every day.

And its Bobo, not bob.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 11-21-2004 03:00 PM

I don't know how fair this is, but maybe we should just not allow you to vote if your account was created during the time the poll was running, sorta like how you can't start threads for 24 hours? Just a thought, and then it is pretty universal and not discriminatory - (about the main polls) by LedZeppelinfan

I really thought this was a good idea.

BludgeonySteve 11-21-2004 05:41 PM

Oh dear, overdone and pointless thread. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=267703

i am the robots 11-21-2004 05:43 PM

I think you should moniter that thread, see if it goes somewhere, or if it goes down the tube.

Riva 11-21-2004 05:47 PM

It'll go down the tube. Everyone always post their favourite extreme metal band, and doesn't consider the myriad definitions of "Heavy".

Permanent Solution 11-21-2004 05:47 PM

I read it, it's not going anywhere, and it is overdone too. We just had the top 50 heaviest thread that lasted forever, there was enough discussion there.

i am the robots 11-21-2004 05:54 PM
It'll go down the tube. Everyone always post their favourite extreme metal band, and doesn't consider the myriad definitions of "Heavy".
Yeah I explained why I think Korn is heavy to all the flamers, and the one guy only read one sentence of it and then tried to correct me.... the thing is he only read half the sentence.

Kill the thread.

Stevie_P 11-21-2004 08:28 PM

Eleventeens double and triple posts are starting to get outa hand IMO

Just make sure you click "submit reply" only once, even if it is is taking a long time to submit.

i am the robots 11-21-2004 08:42 PM

I try to do that, but sometimes my comp just does it, I don't know how or why.... I blame it on the government.

SonorKen 11-21-2004 09:29 PM

Well, quit making threads until you get that figured out. If you reply to a post and it makes 5 replies clean them up. Your responsible for your posts.

i am the robots 11-21-2004 09:33 PM

I actually did clean up the quintuple post :thumb: sorry about the other ones, as I've said before; tommorrow I reformat my comp :thumb:

me :smash:
stupid little kids who act like I do that on purpose :(

SonorKen 11-21-2004 10:55 PM

K guys, you know I don't care if you guys post in a thread to give someone crap about making a thread against the rules, I actually want you guys to do that. I just had to ban a user with a post count over 6000 because he spammed up a thread he didnt like. Thats freaking stupid.

Im gonna start nailin people who post serious responses to threads against the rules. You guys go ahead and continue telling them that the thread they posted is against the rules and that they will be banned, we have too many people disregarding the rules and too many new users who are not reading them.

The ban is going to be 3 day for creating a thread against the rules and 1 day for posting in a thread against the rules. If you post in another thread thats against the rules after your one day ban Im gonna nail ya for 3 days.

I hate to be a prick but we have WAY too many EXCELLENT users here who are being annoyed and it looks like MX is having bandwidth issues again. So anyway, pass this along.

Again, I really appreciatte all you guys do with helping keep R&M clean, I still say its one of the best places on the net to talk about Rock and Metal!
