I went into Sam Goody a day or two ago and I looked for Still Life. Of course, the latest 3 albums are the only ones they carry, so I go try to have them order it for me. I say I want Opeth- Still Life and the worker tells me that they don't have that CD to order and lists every album EXCEPT Still Life

Then I asked for King Crimson- Red, which also is not on the able-to-order list :notasangry:

Why can't Sam Goody get me Still Life, but every other Opeth CD? I guess I'll have to look on the internet :-\

Go to FYE, they normally have every Opeth album but My Arms, Your Hearse

Det_Nosnip 03-31-2005 06:21 PM

Screw Sam Goody, they overprice everything anyways. Best Buy is better.

bucket 03-31-2005 06:27 PM

Unfortunately I don't live close to either of those stores.

I went to Virgin Records in Chicago and they didn't have SL :(. They had an escalator to the second floor of the store, but nope... no SL.

Deth 03-31-2005 08:01 PM

Best Buy only had the latest 3 plus Orchid for some reason near me, making Orchid my second Opeth album.

relliK 03-31-2005 08:23 PM

Best Buy around here on average has about 12 Damnation copies, 3 Blackwater Park copies, and maybe 1 Deliverance. They had Orchid 1 time.I found My Arms, Your Hearse at Barnes and Nobles of all places!!

I hear Tower Records carries everything by them.I dont know if there is a Tower Records around here though.

Kage 03-31-2005 08:41 PM

I think Barnes and Nobles might very well be the most common mistake in the English language

My local Best Buy, last time I checked, carried all of the Opeth CDs.

Where do you live? It's the EXACT same where I live.

South Florida by the way.

bucket 04-01-2005 10:17 AM

Oh yeah! One week away from getting Still Life!

the2stranger 04-01-2005 10:25 AM

enjoy dude, i's a great album ;)

/owns all Opeth albums + dvd

bucket 04-01-2005 05:10 PM

Blackwater Park is usually a good one for a starter. It's one of my favorites.

Plus it's not too hard to find.
Today I bought Still Life, it's my first Opeth album and I really like it. Anyone recommend me another Opeth album?
BWP. Definitely. Too bad you already got my favorite Opeth album. :)

There was a shelf of Lamentation DVD's... in the rich Best Buy (which is on the other side of town for me, but luckily, I went with my.... nevermind :D )

And theres also some good CD's in there too.

Would one of you good people please try and confirm for me whether Opeth are at Download again this year. im hearing lots of lovely rumours about it, but cannot self confirm any.

bucket 04-03-2005 11:41 AM

What does everyone think of the Sounds of Underground Tour?

I'll have to drive several hours if I want to go.

All the info is on opeth.com

Deth 04-03-2005 04:08 PM

Opeth were at Download last year, and with the recording, I doubt they'll make it this year.

SOTU Tour looks alright. If it comes close, I might go.

Grey Incision 04-06-2005 02:41 AM

bloody hell, i found this on the 7th page or something, you wouldn't think their new album was being recorded this very minute with this kind of emptiness, where'd all the opeth fans go?

dUSK 04-06-2005 04:12 AM

I'm here

I'm disappointed at the lack of copiesof BWP in stock at the music stores I usually go to, I still haven't got it. Any news on a release date for their new album?

PaulG 04-06-2005 04:23 AM

None, as of yet.

there isn't much interest in the DT forum too, weird.

but that said, there isn't much to talk about, I haven't heard any news on Opeth since they entered he studios, halfway last month :(

so any news? :chug:

opeth_oasis 04-06-2005 05:18 AM

I wish there was some news, it would make this thread active again. I expect the album should come out around late may perhaps?

the2stranger 04-06-2005 05:53 AM

I think late summer, look at DT, they finished recording a while back, and not releasing till june 7th :(

they should update a bit :)

Deth 04-06-2005 07:34 AM

I'm going to order Still Life and MAYH tonight hopefully.

/is very happy.

Mazeppa 04-06-2005 07:44 AM

Still Life is excellent. It's my only Opeth album so far, I wanna get more some time.

Deth 04-06-2005 08:12 AM

As long as my friend with Amazon Prime doesn't forget, I should have them in about a week.

the2stranger 04-06-2005 11:21 AM

prepare to listen to a great album :thumb:

Deth 04-06-2005 07:22 PM

Looks like I'll have to wait to order till tomorrow because he's being a pansy about it.

/Sadly sits with only 3 Opeth albums.

Daven 04-06-2005 07:27 PM

when is the new album coming out?

Darkness 04-06-2005 07:36 PM

I know you guys have heard this 100 times, but I bought blackwater a while back and am ready for more..I heard Still Life would be the next best... any help?

ytsedrummer 04-06-2005 07:47 PM
when is the new album coming out?
Sometime this year apparently.

Gibbers3095 04-06-2005 08:02 PM

I wish Opeth wasn't going to be in such a ****ty tour. Aside from Opeth, there are maybe one or two bands that are any good. Look at the list of groups, Opeth will be like a diamond in the rough.

Shmike 04-06-2005 08:06 PM

I heard rumours about a Halloween release date.

Drum_and_Bass_Guy89 04-06-2005 08:07 PM
I heard rumours about a Halloween release date.
Halloween, really :upset: Thats a long time

bucket 04-06-2005 08:08 PM

I haven't heard any of those bands besides Devil Driver and they alone are almost enough to drive me away from going. I'm afraid of what the other bands are like seeing as I have heard nothing good about most of them. I'll have to drive 3 or 4 hours to see them if I decide to.

Is this tour going to be like Oz Fest? I'd really like to hear Opeth but how many songs does each band get usually?

themoor666 04-06-2005 08:10 PM

yea looks like that tour syphons fecal juice out of the rectum of a bovine via bendy straw

Gibbers3095 04-06-2005 08:18 PM

Damn you're good!

(Makes small reference to Lamentations DVD)

relliK 04-06-2005 10:30 PM

I dont know, D+D were written and recorded in a little over 2 months. They finished them in September 02, and Deliverance was released in November 02.So hopefully they wont take olong to release this after the finish it.
