I'd love Zach Hill in my band, whether he sounded like Zach Hill or not.

Spaceman Spiff 04-26-2009 11:16 AM

I've never heard Zach Hill until a few days ago when I first heard Cryptomnesia.

What are his other bands like? I've never listened to Hella or anything.

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 11:20 AM

who the **** is zach hill

Spaceman Spiff 04-26-2009 11:22 AM
who the **** is zach hill
A drummer.

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 11:27 AM

lmao wtf and how does a drummer make a song sound too much like his own

they're obsolete

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 11:28 AM

wait

i think i heard a zach hill song on the ipecac page

it sucked almost as bad as this terrible cryptofail album

Spaceman Spiff 04-26-2009 11:31 AM

Cool.

What band was it?

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 11:33 AM

i dont ****ing know it just said zach hill and it was terrible so i turned it off at the 20 second mark

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 11:34 AM

a lot of the ipecac stuff sucks

like the new isis album, what a complete letdown that was. and all these new patton projects that aren't really projects like scoring the new crank movie (the score sucks btw sounds terrible save a few fun but forgettable moments)

Spaceman Spiff 04-26-2009 11:38 AM

Gotcha. I only just heard of him recently and know nothing of his work.

Also, I feel that someone hitting a few keys on a keyboard will never be a good replacement for a real drummer.

The man does what he enjoys. I haven't heard much of what he's been doing lately, I'm just kind of waiting for another real album with a band. Whether it's another Fantomas, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom, whatever it may be, that's when I'm interested.

It's not like I sit down and listen to Adult Themes For Voice or Pranzo Oltranzista. I like to listen to his real music.

isnt the point of being an entertainer to do what we enjoy

i mean seriously that self indulgent "OH BUT HES AN ARTIST" excuse can **** off

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 12:03 PM

oh btw i was being facetious about the drummer thing im actually auditioning drummers atm

Isn't the point of living life to enjoy yourself?

He doesn't have to please his fans 100% of the time. He doesn't have to do what you want him to do.

If that were the case, you would've released the This Bloody Business album instead of throwing all those good songs away.

LOL good songs yeah sure they're good if you like the sound of paris hilton yelping after stepping in shit

and yes he really does have to do what i want him to do hes an entertainer i am what keeps him in business

not giving a **** what your fans think is a terrible attitude yeah dude lemme go buy your album even though you dont give a **** what any of us think

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 12:09 PM

btw that omar douche bag from TMV is probably the biggest asshole in music today j/s those videos you linked earlier had related videos to interviews with him and it all came flooding back

he's like a three year old IF I CANT CONTROL THE BAND NOBODY CAN

Spaceman Spiff 04-26-2009 12:18 PM

It's not an attitude of not giving a shit. Are you actually trying to tell me that he shouldn't be making music that he wants to make?

I was one of your earliest fans, supported the hell out of what you did, I even paid for a copy of Projekt Virulent. If you really believe a word of what you're saying, you wouldn't be making math metal and this industrial metal stuff, you'd still be making music that I like.

I'm not taking stabs at you, I'm being honest. Simply, I don't like the music that you're making right now. You're an artist, an entertainer, and, according to you, you should be making music that your fans want to hear.

lol spiff this is such a dumb conversation you're like that kid who didnt get the joke its just right over your head

plus lets be real here the actual reason you're being so negative is cause i told you capital h sucks so you're like OMG NOT ON MY WATCH and now you're being mean back to me thats fine but i dont have time for children

edit: also its a majority of fans do you think i reach more people with quality collaborative music or with crappy poorly recorded nonsense that you happen to like because of some gay concept of friendship or whatever makes you like that crap

for the record, you have definitely reinforced the notion to never **** with mike patton diehards "OMG HES MORE OF AN ARTIST THAN YOULL EVER BE"

Nah, I'm not trying to be mean. And I really don't care that you don't like what we're doing. In fact, I was just complimenting you for music that you have made. But you've alienated your fan by turning around and making music that he doesn't really like and not caring that he doesn't like it.

you have a hard time with rejection

Epidemechanical 04-26-2009 12:26 PM

im going to develop a childhood fixation with the mars volta and mike patton and automatically love everything they produce cause they're REAL ARTISTS and everyone else is just CHEAP SELLOUTS omg genius at work people

I don't even pay attention to what he does. You, apparently, are more of a diehard than I am. You seem to know all about these side projects, whatever he's doing, and are pissed because you don't like them. I, on the other hand, don't care. I'll listen when he puts out something I do care about.

fatbandit 04-26-2009 12:27 PM

I can only make one type of music, so I'm in no danger of changing and alienating.

Probably $2.50 at a flea market. Selling out certainly didn't help you cash out.
