Did u ever suffer from the Tetris effect lol

Once i start playing the main song Theme A from the original Gameboy version, it gets stuck in my head.
Fuck any movie with Nicole Kidman in it.
yeah i know but the song is annoying me. Damn you EITS for making all your songs equally as epic

Meatplow 11-26-2008 08:02 AM

the EITS album I listened to was somewhat underwhelming

gaslight 11-26-2008 08:06 AM

You can't expect too much from post-rock, if you're not in the mood to like a post-rock album you pretty much wont.

Mogwai's new album is just, god, I don't even know why they bothered releasing it.

big80smullet 11-26-2008 08:08 AM

EITS are great background/movie soundtrack music. theyre not very good as far as post rock goes but theyre a good entry point into the genre.

Matt: i think i remember you saying your mate was in sleepmakewaves or you knew them somehow. this is their album review on sputnik if you were interested and hadnt seen it already. Its pretty positive. http://www.sputnikmusic.com/album.php?albumid=26234

Meatplow 11-26-2008 08:17 AM

I'm increasingly appreciative of post-rock and post-everything really

Post-nicole kidman

radtaste 11-26-2008 08:19 AM

I'm looking forward to post-post-rock.

gaslight 11-26-2008 08:23 AM

Cool Ev :thumb:. Yeah I went to uni with the drummer. Great guy, all of them are nice guys. Did a show with them back in the Atlas Weights days.

Meatplow 11-26-2008 08:23 AM

i believe post-post-rock will result in a genre that already exists

big80smullet 11-26-2008 08:24 AM

post ahrdcore is probably my favourite post atm. Its a very expansive and creative genre i find.

i wanna make a post disco band. expansive sweeping disco soundscapes

big80smullet 11-26-2008 08:24 AM
i believe post-post-rock will result in a genre that already exists
noise or ambience could probably be considered post post rock tbh

gaslight 11-26-2008 08:26 AM

I think I got my fill of post-rock and post-hardcore in high school. I can't be bothered being into any scene or another anymore. I just end up annoyed.

Meatplow 11-26-2008 08:32 AM
noise or ambience could probably be considered post post rock tbh
thats what i'm thinking, post-rock seems something of a bridge between rock and well... those genres

gaslight 11-26-2008 08:34 AM

I don't think you could call ambient and noise post-post-rock because it implies they follow it chronologically when they both precede it.

big80smullet 11-26-2008 08:34 AM

i dont care what scene my music is but if i like it i usually try and find something similar from another band. thats where scenes and genres come in handy. but seriously. Post-Disco is happening.

Meatplow 11-26-2008 08:36 AM
I don't think you could call ambient and noise post-post-rock because it implies they follow it chronologically when they both precede it.
well, its more about disregarding namesakes and looking at the characteristics of the genres I suppose

gaslight 11-26-2008 08:37 AM

Post = after. No way around that one.

big80smullet 11-26-2008 08:43 AM
