ok heres a new topic. "best opening and closing" song that Iron Maiden could do on tour.
Pretty Much the "Maiden England" setup(wich by the way have still life on it..:thumb) Moonchild to start(gotta love the "I am he..." opening to an concert, gives you kinda an rush...) and Iron Maiden to the end... On an "Last tour" it should be Wasted Years... i would serriously have cried.... i think i have been banned from the IM BB... i havent been able to get in there for 1 month... :upset: |
There were gigs all over the England
they were: Sheffield (where I saw them) Ash
me too!!!! maiden rule |
can someone clear me up on which albums have which singer. kinda confused
|
Iron Maide, Killers-Paul Di'Anno
The X-Factor, Virtual XI-Blaze Everything else-Dickinson |
My fovorite songs are Fear of the Dark, Wasted Years, No More Lies, Run to the Hills,
and Lord of the Flies. |

I like what they did with the whole intro song type thing (I know they did it on the BNW tour and the DoD tour), but they could have pickeed better songs to go to....
They haven't done Phantom of the opera for a long while :( |
I think Be Quick Or Be Dead would be a kick *** opener.
It's hard, heavy and would get the crowd pumped for anything. |
^I haven't that song in eons *puts fear of the dark album on*
I was looking at the little booklet you get with DoD album, and I noticed that at the back there is a little small print type thing in the lower right hand corner talking about how this CD is non pollutant .etc, but the b it that interested me was the bit that says "if you are interested in planting a tree in the Iron Maiden forest go to http://www.futureforests.com/ironmaiden" I'm gonna check it out. Ash |
yeah, BQOBD would be great, and the band prefers an jumping start.. i think they started with it on the FOTD-Tour... (they do on raising hell...)
|
Maiden rule
seen maiden twice now once at donington park UK (give me ed til' im dead) and then again at sheffield arena UK(dance of death). must say maiden is the best band in the world and if anyone says otherwise they will deal with me. Up the irons!!!!!! Maiden till i die :thumb:
|
How come everyone in the UK that saw maiden on the DoD tour, saw 'em at sheffield.......Including me.
Well its nice to see people with good taste..... |
"Where Eagles Dare" is a good song, but as an opening track it's just too long. Plus there's that whole instrumental part in the middle that doesn't have enough solo.
|
Aces High is my personal favorite opener but I have to agree that Moonchild would make a killer opening to a concert. Kinda funny that someone mentioned Moonchild as I was just listening to the SSOASS album today and I thought to myself how great it would be to see maiden open a concert with Moonchild.
|
sounds like we are agreeing that "Moonchild" is one hell of an opener!!!
new topic..."Worst Iron Maiden outfit worn on stage" lol...this ought to be good! |

Bruce's wrist gauntlets are tacky. Actually, anything from their 80s period transplanted into today would look silly, so if that's what they wear now then it's all bad. The only info I have is from their album lyric booklets.
|
my vote goes to Adrain when he had the British mullet, ripped denim vest, skin tight leather pants, a bullet belt, and boots haha...thats the worst combination possible!! his fantastic guitar playing makes up for it though :)
|
I think everything maiden wear is great and when my band starts gigging i intend to wear a leather waistcoat and skin tuight trousers, you can't really beat the maiden look, except for the weird football shirt steve wears, thats just weird....
|
steve's soccer uniform seemed sort of an odd thing to wear :smoke:
I think that's the only thing that looks sort of decent. |

You Dont throw **** about steves soccer uniform! its wonderful! im gonna buy one.... the home one...(well, i play in an Tribute band to :p) And i must say... those very colourful Pants of Bruce Dickinson would qualify to the ugliest outfit :p or bruces "powercock" pants as i have heard them call... but adrians SSOASS outfit thats some funny stuff... :p he usually had normal clothes.. or Bruce's SIT out fit, thats just hilarious! |

"Where Eagle's Dare" is not a good song, it's a great song! Who cares if it's too long? As for the middle instrumental part, it's ****ing awesome! Sure there's not enough of a solo, but they make up for it when Dave and Adrian are harmonizing. |
ok heres a new topic. "best opening and closing" song that Iron Maiden could do on tour.
The best song maiden can open with is "Aces High" and the best closing song, and my personal favorite, is "Phantom of the Opera"; no toher closing song compares. |
Greatest song?
ok this should be fun and create some debate, whats yer fav. maiden track? :p
for me its gotta be the ghost of the ol' navi' f***ing brilliant song, its so melodic and catchy, love janicks guitar solo an' is just everythin i love in a maiden song... too bad they didn't play it at Earls Court back in December... the pit woulda gone nuts! ;) so please "take my heart and set it free!" whatd'ya all think? |
this has been done a million times....but since your new i will cut ya some slack hehe. my favourite Maiden track is easily "Heaven can Wait"...just a flawless tune with a chorus to die for!
|
maiden owns all!!!Dickensons voice is amazing, Harris's lyrics are epic, and though most of his bass lines are repeated in most of their songs they still kick ***...Murray, Gers, Smith just own all other guitarists, Nicko is probably one of the best drummers i have ever heard, him and Harris are so on cue with eachother its mind boggling
