-and its emo.
is it washing away me in the tides or washing me away in the tides? i got it off limewire because its only on the expensive japan CD, i think someone named it wrong, because "washing away me" sounds wrong.
It's not emo at all. And yeah it is washing away me in the tides. Only because of the how chorus goes though, washing me away wouldn;t fit in. |
- agree to disagree -
cool |
You should read up on that before you go throwin' that word around.
if you don't like that, check SimonCore's avatar. |
Suzz are showing some of the AStroia show on saturday at 8 i think. Should be cool.

Dying In Your Arms is not an emo song, try comparing it to any of the following: The Number Twelve Looks Like You - If These Bullets Could Talk Underoath - Never Meant To Break Your Heart Circle Takes The Square - Same Shade As Concrete |
I prefered the last 2 albums that Trivium released, Ember To Inferno and the self titled one, and about their style, I just don't understand why people just give so much importance for the style, its not gonna change anything, you guys can keep on arguing all day and never get to a result since every song is influenced from a different style.

You seem like an idiot when you call something emo when it has nothing to do with what the actual term means. |

Every song is influenced by at least one different band. You can ssooo tell. |
"I'm so depressed, If only you were still here..." = emo
"You poisoned my life, so I take thie knife and I cut you out, cut you out" does not = emo Anyway...Has anyone ever paid attention to the band's thanks in the CD booklet for Ascendancy? Matt's last comment in his thanks section was really funny. I would post it but the book is upstairs and i'm lazy...hehe |

I really need to buy a hard copy of that CD. it's one of my favorite of all time. |
i wasnt referring to the lyrics -
ok, Eleventeen, what about that main riff and the style of singing? does that not hint hardcore?
We're still talking about DIYA right? Well it's not emo influenced at all, it's just catchy and slightly pop-punky. Just because somethings tuneful doens't mean it's emo. |
i wasnt referring to the lyrics -
ok, Eleventeen, what about that main riff and the style of singing? does that not hint hardcore?
No, it doesn't man. Take a trip to the hardcore/emo subforum in the punk forum and read some of the sticky threads and learn. Listening to the songs Eleventeen listed will help too. I know it sounds like were being to picky, but when you listen to a ton of music like we all do on this forum, you probably included, discussing it is much easier if we choose the correct terms to describe our music. |
absolutely, fair enough.

Sorted.

So when trivium were playing the cover of walk and domination they were playing dime guitars. Were these dime's actual guitars that he owned or just his as in his dean signature or the ones he actually designed?

Pretty much. They were replicas if anything. |
Id be pretty damn surprised if it were Dimes Actualy guitars.
The razorback looks fweet |
^^^^^Well, I know there was some band (maybe it was A7x) that got invited to the studio to play Dimebag's stuff after he died because his wife thought they were a hell of a good young band......It's in a recent issue of guitar world......I think they also played a show with the guitars.......
|
I know there's a bit about Trivium and Dimebag's family in guitar world, but I don't recall that.
I think Matt was using one of those scarce Razorbacks. There was an issue where very few were made. |

No that was Trivium |
Pretty much.
They were replicas if anything.
Nope, in the recent metal hammer matt and corey tell how they got to use Dimes very own guitars. Apparently dimes wife lent it to them. |
So when trivium were playing the cover of walk and domination they were playing dime guitars. Were these dime's actual guitars that he owned or just his as in his dean signature or the ones he actually designed?
yeah they were dimes actual guitars. they're good friends with dime's wife, she comes to their shows and they've been in dimes house and stuff like that. she heard they were doin old pantera songs so she gave them some of dimes guitars. |
i think the only thing that tarnishes the look of trivium is it's emo following. i liked them before all the emo guys at my college knew about them, then they all started goin crazy for them, an their bands started doing trivium covers and they just lost their shine. its one of those bands that you dont love but you dont hate. for me anyway
|
They always use Dime's guitars (or replicas) now. All the way through the show! The sound isn't as good as there Jackson and Les paul.
|
Just because somethings tuneful doens't mean it's emo.
that's not what i was implying.
i think the only thing that tarnishes the look of trivium is it's emo following. i liked them before all the emo guys at my college knew about them, then they all started goin crazy for them, an their bands started doing trivium covers and they just lost their shine. its one of those bands that you dont love but you dont hate. for me anyway
and why do emo's like Trivium? i dont think it's "when all light dies" or "pull harder" that they like... ahem. never mind.
yeah they were dimes actual guitars. they're good friends with dime's wife, she comes to their shows and they've been in dimes house and stuff like that. she heard they were doin old pantera songs so she gave them some of dimes guitars.
so when they came to exeter[england] a couple of weeks back on the ascendancy tour, they were playing actual dime guitars? bloody hell. makes me feel special having been in the same room as one. |
i just dont like emos (but i aint prejudiced, i mean the ones ive met) they just hijack all the bands metal people like. and ive always worn black and stuff, but i dont want people to think me as an emo. grrr.
anyway, screw emo's. trivium are cool, ive decided |
i was implying that emo's dont really like trivium, they just like DIYA. i dont have a problem with them either, i just dont like their style of music.
and im glad you made that decision. lol.:) |
DIYA? sorry man, dont get it :p
but yeah, there not a bad band, and i think matt heafys got a good voice, especially in pull harder and a gunshot to the head... i was saying to ya in another thread how much it pisses me off when people start listening to a band and then think they own them...yeah the emos round here are like that meh, kill em all, metallica style |
