I just bought a 21" A Custom Projection Ride. I used to own a ZBT. I am having trouble adjusting to the A. It seems like I can't get very much sound out of it. Maybe the ZBT had more wash to it, hence gave it a fuller sound. I guess I'm looking for some ride suggestions. I'm going to guitar center tomorrow to try some out; any suggestions I should pay special attention to? Maybe something with a LITTLE bit more wash than the A Custom Projection?
Thanks
the 20" one was a bit bright for me :p could always try that mega bell Z custom ride but..egh

Tim 07-31-2005 01:54 PM

for the price of titaniums you can get something way better. shop around. seeign how you dont have hte grestest of cymbals. id say scratch the crash/ride off of your list for now. then get you some good hi-hats, ride and crash.

i play sabian 18inch AAXplosion crash, AAX 16 inch Stage crash, 18 Inch AA chinese, paiste 502 ride<<the bell on that is awesome, and i got crappy zildjian zxt hats right now but they were free when i got them, im soon replacing with either AAX stage hats or Zildjian New beats.

red n black 07-31-2005 04:40 PM

hi, everyone. . just a small question

I know both suck and I'm not planning on buying one.

But what line is considered higher level, ZBT or ZXT???

sorry, I didn't want to make a thread about it.

Tim 07-31-2005 04:54 PM

zxt is supposed to be the higher one.

bobby__johnny 07-31-2005 07:01 PM

ZXt of those two....B8's over both.

yummyramen 07-31-2005 10:54 PM

umm... i have a Ludwig Set. It has a 18x22 bass, 14 snare, 9x12 and 10x13 toms, and 16x16 floor tom. they are all original heads. And I have 14 hi-hats, 16 thin crash, and a 20 rock ride (all cymbals B8's). What would you guys do to it and aboot how much would it cost? And in which order would you do it? I dont know, i'm only 13 and i dont know how to use a digital camera.

BradDawg 07-31-2005 11:43 PM

Hey guys i was seeing if yall could help me decide if this is a good set up and the sounds will mesh well. I play mainly straight rock but sometimes we can get kinda hardish (mainly when jamming). Any feedback on this set up would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot -B.

This is what I have currently:
22” Paragon Ride
19” AAXplosion Crash
19” Paragon China
18” Vault Crash
14” AAX Stage Hats
12” Wuhan Splash on a 12” Wuhan Mini China

This is what i plan on adding:
21” AAX Stage Ride (and can be for a 2nd/Jazz Set)
17” Vault Crash (and can be for a 2nd/Jazz Set)
17” AAXplosion Crash
13” AAX Stage Hats (and can be for a 2nd/Jazz Set)
11” or 9” Max Splash
10” or 8” Paragon Splash
ZXt of those two....B8's over both.
Are you sure, cuz I'm not talking about sound I'm talking about series.

I thought it was like this:

ZBT = B8
ZXT = B8 Pro

Still, I'm not talking soundwise, I'm talking series-wise (ehh?)

DruMMeR_BoY14 08-01-2005 05:07 AM

Yeah you8are right with the series, but B8's have a much better soudn quality than The ABT's or ZXT's

bobby__johnny 08-01-2005 08:39 AM

B8's are better than both ZXTs or ZBT's....and this is sound quality i'm talking.

Whats a ride that would give a good woody sound (do you know what I mean woody?), with medium wash and doesn't have a small bell?

Oh yeah, I would like it to be kind of heavy too, so it feels like I'm actually hitting something and I can bonce my stick on it good.

red n black 08-01-2005 10:16 AM

^^^I have no idea.
But on the Paiste homepage they say that the Giant Beat is Woody
