What's the cheapest website to order band shirts from? Interpunk and the like are so expensive.

Major General Despair 03-20-2005 12:39 PM

punkstuff.com is decent and has a fairly good selection

AndreTheHyena 03-20-2005 12:42 PM

Thanks, man, I'll check it out.

Brain Toad 03-20-2005 01:06 PM

You aren't going to find many places with shirts under say 15 nowadays, unless you go to an online distro that does their own screen printing, then it may be cheaper.

AndreTheHyena 03-20-2005 01:12 PM

Shucks, I was aiming for a $13 ceiling. What ever happened to the good ol' days...

Does anybody know a website like interpunk in Canada so I don't have to pay as much for shipping and exchange rates?

CDR_Cool 03-20-2005 02:25 PM

record store?

XD nice.

Anarcho Poser 03-20-2005 06:13 PM

Local shops' shirts are usually really highly priced though.

There are no good record stores anywhere near where I live. So I have to buy CDs and stuff from interpunk and angryyoungandpoor.com.

Has anyone here had any experience with doing DIY merch stuff for local bands?
I have a pins making machine and used to have the supplies for silkscreening until I ruined them, and am planning to start doing shirts, patches, and pins for local bands.
Has anyone had any experience with this...?

dkm4life010 03-20-2005 08:38 PM

i have a pin maker and make pins for 2 local bands
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v709/dkm4life010/new001.jpg
upperkut is my friends alternative band and shane is me name. i charge a buck but the pins a stupid 2 inches... meh, it works.

ratsinthecity403 03-20-2005 08:44 PM

cool...yeah, I've been doing the pins thing on a small scale, but am looking to do a lot more than just pins. I live in Utah so there's not a huge scene here, but I've been wanting to get more involved in it recently. I just don't know where to get started, and haven't quite decided how much to charge, or wheter it's worth it to charge a bit more for 'Made in the USA' shirts or not, etc.

dkm4life010 03-20-2005 09:27 PM

by "made in the USA" shirts do you mean non-band shirts? or shirts actually made in the usa. and for patches, i take the time to make them by hand. if you're going to sell them, pins= 75 cents (if small scale) patches= at least a dollar, depending on detail, color, etc. and for shirts= same as patches but...at least $10 i would say and then if more people buy them, slowly raise the price. and yeah, i live in chicago and the scene sucks. except for one anarchist/ vegan march at a meat factory...

cheeser_1 03-20-2005 09:37 PM

i think he means fair-labor shirts, ie not from a sweatshop.

Anarcho Poser 03-20-2005 10:28 PM

Where can I pick me up one of these fancy "pin makers?"

DirtyHarrier 03-20-2005 10:31 PM

does anyone know how to make a tattoo gun? i know the basic idea, but obviously ripping up an old walkman isn't gonna do much.

Anarcho Poser 03-20-2005 10:32 PM

No, but it's probably not a very good idea to do anyway.

DirtyHarrier 03-20-2005 10:36 PM

sanitation isn't much of a problem. it's no different than piercing yo' ear, you have to heat the needle up. and so long as you don't start trying to tatoo intricate designs on eyelids, i don't think there is much to worry about.
Where can I pick me up one of these fancy "pin makers?"
eBay and thrift shops are the only places I know.
remind me to buy one of those incase i ever start doing heroin.
the needles are fucking thick. they're hard enough to just get through the skin - getting them in a blood vessel would be bad news, man.

DirtyHarrier 03-20-2005 11:21 PM

i'm just that much of a bad ***. i used to shoot up all my junk with a ****ing turkey baster.

i'm no expert, but i really doubt it. i think it'd just wash right out (or sweat out, or just come out on its own).
