Hah, Bartender I'm selling mine, too. I've kept my championship winning deck, but I'm going to put the rest up for sale.

I never took part in any championships or anything, just games with friends. Still, I had six or seven decks, and they were pretty good (except for a couple which I was just messing around with). I sold most of the rubbish I didn't use (about 3000 cards, mostly commons) for £100 a couple of years back, and now I'm selling all of my decks dissolved together, with the exception of a few cards I'm keeping for "sentimental value". The few I bought first, basically.

What sort of deck was your winning one?

Bartender 09-09-2004 10:42 AM
No no, they won't be able to make Neo.

At least, with Star Wars galaxies (SWG) there were lots of mods. It was hard wired in the program that you couldn't make a charcter with the same name as a prominent character in the books/movies/comics, however if you tried to be clever with something like "Duke Skywalker", you'd be reported straight to a mod by nearly any character you meet. I got it right when it came out, so God knows how much they've improved it by now, but it was really buggy back then. I think I'll wait for the matrix one till they sort out the bugs. It looks kinda cool, but I always find gameplay in these things a little redundant.
Fair enough. I still think the LOTR one looks better than the Matrix though. Galaxies never really looked that good either. What others have you played?

Wintermute 09-09-2004 10:45 AM

It was a school championship, not a national or anything - hell, you're online, I'll talk to you on MSN.

superpeer 09-09-2004 10:45 AM

I can't sell things, I'm always attached to objects.

Bartender 09-09-2004 10:50 AM
I can't sell things, I'm always attached to objects.
I'm usually like that, which is why I'm keeping a few of my cards..I guess I'm less attached because I haven't played in a year or so now. And I've got thousands of them.

Other than galaxies, none. I'm not too keen on monthly membership fees. I used to be a huge star wars fan so I figured I might as well give galaxies a try.

Crap I sell stuff all the time, mainly CDs and such, but you really get attached to them? Thats cool.

Dancin' Man 09-09-2004 02:24 PM

I have so many Magic cards. I love that game. I could sell mine for a lot. I have lots of rare oldschool cards (legends, arabian nights)

Bartender 09-09-2004 09:47 PM

Do you still play?

Paranoidd 09-10-2004 08:26 AM

Morning all.

superpeer 09-10-2004 08:27 AM

G'day.

Does anybody else have a problem where their friends listen to shyt music?

Bartender 09-10-2004 08:55 AM

Yes.

Paranoidd 09-10-2004 09:00 AM

I always end up driving, because I control the music in my car and I feel I can educate them by forcing them to listen to my stuff.

Doesn't work. :(

I finally got one of my friends to listen to SOME rock...but he ends up liking stuff like Senses Fail, Taking Back Sunday, Billy Talent, etc. I at least don't mind the Used, their bassist is pretty cool. So I'm trying to work him (gently) towards some heavier stuff. Tool didn't work, nor hatebreed, nor Iron Maiden. I thought Mars Volta might work, and I think they all faked not liking it just because I suggested it.

I need to knock some sense into these kids.

Bartender 09-10-2004 09:03 AM

If Iron Maiden didn't work, I think you should probably just give up.

Paranoidd 09-10-2004 09:04 AM

Yeh....:upset:

I've accepted the fact that he has no taste, but I was at least hoping I could play some tunes without having the bastard whine about how depressing it is.

superpeer 09-10-2004 09:06 AM

Nah, that's not true, I don't like Iron Maiden. And my musical tastes are just fine.

Paranoidd 09-10-2004 09:11 AM

No no, that wasn't my point.

I can't get him to like anything that isn't either deluded, self-appreciating happy shyt, simplistic angsty pop-punk, or house. I figured since he likes Alexisonfire (one of the few bands we can agree on) that I'd entice him with some screaming....nope.

I think my friends are at the point now where they simply dimiss anything I offer because the yknow how preachy I am with music. Idiots.

Bartender 09-10-2004 09:25 AM

What sort of stuff do the ones you've had no effect on listen to?

gmoneyguy 09-10-2004 09:29 AM

This is why i blast metal in parking lots, that and the reactions people give you is pretty funny too

Paranoidd 09-10-2004 09:33 AM

Well he has an MP3 deck in the car so he's able to cram more crap on a CD than normal people.

Lets see...of the top of my head...

Senses Fail, From Autumn to Ashes, Taking Back Sunday, Three Days Grace, Billy Talent (loves this band, they're from our area), Alexisonfire, Boy sets fire, Thrice, Thursday, The Used, Poison the well, etc.

Some of those bands are tolerable, but ones like Billy Talent = shyte. Hate that band with a passion.
