??? What! lol, I love it on Cunning Stunts where they play fuel for the first time, they say that they don't even have a name for the song yet lol!
And about that April Fools thing! :o  I must say whoever thought that one up did a good job lol :smoke:
LOL OMG i thought that was for real!!. when james got almost smacked in the face and Kirk was so close from getting hit.
At the end i saw the special features and saw that it was set up.
Well done!!
:p

It sucks though. Although I like it though, the posers start coming in by the millions instead of like the tens. It's like rap and hip hop these days. There are so many posers it drives the real people crazy. What's it going to be like now? I can't imagine anyone except for like me and maybe another 1 or 2 % of my school liking metallica

Sandtrap 04-05-2005 02:31 PM
really poor if they keep the actual style. They should retake the old style and play solos
yeah I mean if they did the kill em all style music!

Sandtrap 04-05-2005 02:33 PM
BTW, Sandtrap, my guess is rage-ers rather than rag-ers. Watch Cliff 'Em All, and Hetfield introduces Cliff as the "major rager on the four stringed motherfucker", ie, with major and rager rhyming.
hey thanks alot! Im gonna start using that word!

lilmetallica 04-05-2005 03:43 PM

i figured thats how its pronounced to gocaps99 -- it would suck horably especially with the people who think they know everythin and any thin about metallica and such
i figured thats how its pronounced to gocaps99 -- it would suck horably especially with the people who think they know everythin and any thin about metallica and such
I know what you mean...its means something to like a certian band or sports team threw the thick and the thin...but then if that band or sports team comes back into fashion theres always gonna be people jumping on the "band"wagon because they wanna be cool. I hate that too! Ive played shows before and at the end of the gig everyone pretends there way into the music I played and all that becuase they want me to give them something or they want to meet the guys in the band or they want me to come jam with them and they just plain dont know anything about they kinda music I play up in the stage...they just think its cool that im fast, or that there are a bunch of chics back stage or something like that...which really is not cool. I even knew this girl one time that wanted to get with me so she tried to convince me that she like metallica and she listened to metallica because she saw me on stage playing some licks...which was super not cool!

But on the other hand I would love to see teh 80s speed/shred metal come back because I hate no other music more than the type that is commercialy active right now. I think all the nu-metal, black metal, all the heavy metal stuff and lighter rock right now is about the worst music this planets seen in the last...I dont know how many years. Probably since the beatles.

lilmetallica 04-05-2005 04:27 PM

AMEN!!!!! :thumb:
MY one friend (who shal remain nameless) had a metallica cd and thought he knew every thin til i asked if he heard their new song his reply the sandman one :amaze:

(Not sarcasm.)

Venom was around back in '79, and Bathory was around in '84, right after the thrash metal scene exploded in California. I didn't know that it was ****ty music.

I was refering to the current metal that is reffered too as black metal. the stuff were they sing so weird you couldnt understand what there saying(literaly)unless you read the lyrics off the page while listening to the song. I dont even know if I could follow along under those cirumstances.

lilmetallica 04-05-2005 06:07 PM

some of the metallica songs are like that the first time you listen to them but most you can understand

Sandtrap 04-05-2005 06:10 PM
some of the metallica songs are like that the first time you listen to them but most you can understand
yeah! I had trouble understand mechanix the first time I heard it...but that could have been the quiality. but anyways now I can sing along with it. but do you know the bands Im talking about were you could guess what word they just said?

lilmetallica 04-05-2005 06:15 PM

i dont know the band names butt ive heard the songs and it sounds like they're just sayin syllables or word fragments er somethin which do you like better puppetz(entire cd) or RTL (entire cd)

Sandtrap 04-05-2005 06:23 PM

Im gonna have to go with Ride The Good Old Lightning. I really like what they were doin in 81, 82, and 83 and I would give anything to get my hands on some free demo downloads from those time periods...but anyway I like RTL because kirk does some really kick *** things on that album. Trapped Under Ice has a Hammett buffet and I really love Fade To Black(should have done more like it in the 80s). Puppets was good, dont get me wrong, but I dont think it was anything compared to what they were doing in 84 and before. My favorite album overall Kill em all and any recordings before that!

Joe 04-05-2005 06:32 PM
some of the metallica songs are like that the first time you listen to them but most you can understand
yea most of the words you can understand, and once you read the lyrics all the words make sense.

I'm going to say Ride the Lightning. Ride the Lightning has my absolute favorite song, Fade to Black, and I think the guitar work is better. Yes Master of Puppets has some great guitar work, but I just like RTL a lot better. Master of Puppets was better recorded however

I think it's better than puppets because all the songs on their are some oft the greates songs ive heard in my life. Fade to balck, call of ktulu, creeping death, all incredible songs. But you cant forget all the other songs because they are all great

I agree, a lot of people who are classic Metallica fans (not there new stuff) seem to not like it as much. I dont know much about bass so i wouldnt be able to comment on how that changed, but other than that it certainly sounds like there most advanced album musicially.

And it has everything you want.

1. Straight up Metal - Blackened
2. Softer song that is amazing - One
3. Gloomy - The frayed ends of sanity
4. Thrash/Speed - Dyers Eve.

Sandtrap 04-05-2005 07:31 PM

dont know about that one...it lacks a non-political track. and one were you can tell kirk is a god. Justice was alright...but all the tracks sound teh same to me. you can hear ten metallica songs and tell which one if off jusitce just by the way it sounds. but everyone can have an opinion...i have no problems with that.

Ok here I got with RTL:

1. Straight up Metal - Fight Fire With Fire
2. Softer song that is amazing - Fade To Black
3. Gloomy - Call Of Ktulu, For Whom The Bell Tolls
4. Trash/Speed - Trapper Under Ice

I love justice, just not as much as RTL.

It's probably my third fav, right behind puppets

One of my favorite songs on that cd is harvester of sorrow

well there are some really good tunes on justice
1:blackened-badass intro,good lyrics,good drums
2:...and justice for all-good beggining roff,soft,then into a hard riff,love the solo
3:eye of the beholder-pretty goos song, some times when i listen to it i mistake to for justice, but its a good song
4: one-flawless song,all i can say
5:shortest straw-good thrashy tune,badass guitar riff,good drums
6:harvester of sorrow:i really like this song, good tom part in the beggining, good solo
7:the frayed ends of sanity: one of the weaker tracks on justice, but still ghood,i like the speaker switching in the beggining
8:to live is to die-a good instrumental,their best,tribute to cliff,r.i.p.
9:dyers eve-a very good song, kind of shows the strengths of hammet, hetfield, and ulrichs songwriting ability, very passionate song

over all,id give justice a 9/10

I agree RTL has everything you want, but so does ajfa not to mention master and kea hav alot of great songs as well. There all got there own styles so you cant really compare them. and with the load reload thing id rather load but the first 3 songs on reload are awsome

Yes, its kinda like a mix of songs, so people of all genres would probably like at least one song from the Ride the Lightning or Master Of Puppets :D

Burzum is like that. Mayhem, for the most part, is like that. Darkthrone is like that on A Blaze. I don't really see the problem.

Huber 04-05-2005 11:04 PM

I prefer Ride The Lightning for an "everything you want album". It has catchy songs, beautiful but metal songs, and straight up kick your *** thrash.

I'm somewhat agree. RTL is my fav. Metallica album... next to AJFA.

PepsiMetal 04-05-2005 11:59 PM

Good?

I would agree and say that AJFA is the best metallica album up to date. AJFA song is **** awesome. Along with one, blackened, to live is to die, etc... All songs on that album are great. ;)
