As some know, I got the whole SY discography.
I'm on the SY EP. I'm starting with this and movin' chronologically to hear stuff I haven't yet. Oh yes, and my bass-playing friend's almost done with his bass-and-tambourine album. http://www.myspace.com/samdavisonmusic The Burning Spear is awesome stuff. |
I can't believe you haven't heard the whole album
I haven't heard a lot of "classic" albums, even when I talk about them like I know something. I'm a poseur of the highest caliber, but only because I expect myself to be able to back up my opinions eventually. Oh and I've never listened to a single Smiths song either, let alone an album >:-} |

Charles Mingus - Pithecanthropus Erectus and Mingus, Mingus, Mingus, Mingus, Mingus
Sooooo good |
Al Green and John Cale. Gets Next to You and Slow Dazzle specifically. Both great in their own ways. Also, I glanced at my last.fm it somehow changed; Lupe Fiasco and Tussle both made it on there now. Tussle's new album Telescope Mind is really pretty cool, very Neu! inspired. Oct. 30th, expect a favorable pitchfork review of at least 7.0+. Let's see if those words haunt me.

Can - Tago Mago
Van Der Graaf Generator - Godbluff, Still Life |

|
It's only competition is Tindersticks II, honestly.
|
Should I buy Tindersticks on vinyl?
|
I murders II to be quite honest. II is too dense for me.
|
Charles Mingus - Pithecanthropus Erectus and Mingus, Mingus, Mingus, Mingus, Mingus
Sooooo good
Me too. |
Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds - Let Love In
The Hold Steady - Boys and Girls in America Terrific record. I was somebody who adored Separation Sunday, though, so if you weren't part of that - don't expect this one to change your mind. Nice balance of rockers/ballads, good length, always fascinating lyrical observations/stories. It'll probably grow into one of my favorites for this year. |
