Tapes 'n Tapes - The Loon

This is pretty good, kind of like an early Pavement lost demo, with better playing and worst singing.
This is on my 'to get' list.

REM - Murmur
Tom Waits - Raindogs

br3ad_man 04-14-2006 05:26 PM
Converge - Jane Doe

Metal was pretty much ruined for me after I heard this album, because I haven't found anything even close to the intensity.
I'm pretty much the same.

I'm listening to Diary.

Bukowski 04-14-2006 05:32 PM

Minutemen - Paranoid Time
Minutemen - What Makes a Man Start Fires
Minutemen bootlegs

The Great Decay 04-14-2006 06:20 PM

Today's listenage:

Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain
Pavement - Slanted & Enchanted
Cursive - Domestica
Converge - Jane Doe
Converge - You Fail Me

Yo La Tengo - I Can Hear The Heart Beating As One

This is great. There's a couple of patchy songs, but mostly its good. Autumn Sweater is sweet as.

YDload 04-14-2006 08:05 PM

The new Dog Fashion Disco album Adultery looks to be pretty good. Pretty much what you would expect from the band, plus a little bit of surprises (which themselves are expected).

Ornery Cephalopod 04-14-2006 08:21 PM

Got the new Peeping Tom today.

Kinda disappointing, but there's some great stuff on there.

The Great Decay 04-14-2006 09:16 PM

Sage Francis – A Healthy Distrust
The Velvet Underground – The Velvet Underground & Nico

Glitterati 04-14-2006 09:38 PM

My Bloody Valentine - Isn't Anything

I can see My Bloody Valentine becoming one of my favorite bands, what with my love of noise rock.

That and some Matisyahu.

br3ad_man 04-14-2006 09:41 PM

MBV are so good.

I just bought the new Grates and Abbey Road.

I Was A Kaleidoscope 04-14-2006 09:48 PM

At The Drive-In - Relationship Of Command

Why is it that I only just found out Iggy Pop did the backing vocals on Rolodex Propaganda?

The Great Decay 04-14-2006 09:52 PM

I wasn't aware of that either, until now.

A lot of people tend to stick to Loveless, but I think some of their EPs are almost equally as stunning, especially if you're into more of that noise rock edge.

Zebra 04-14-2006 10:09 PM

Ween - The Mollusk

Tangy zizzle 04-14-2006 11:29 PM

br3ad, The Grates play soulless music. You must realise this?

br3ad_man 04-15-2006 12:51 AM

Tangy, The Grates play fun music. You musn't realise this.

indy_undy 04-15-2006 02:03 AM

You're both right (what's the album like?).

I've been digging Calvin Johnson's What Was Me. Nothing to Hold us Here is so gangster to the core.

The Great Decay 04-15-2006 10:00 AM

I'm listening to Ok Computer for the first time in a long while.

Glitterati 04-15-2006 10:00 AM

I'm rediscovering the awesomeness of The Doors lately, so that's what will be my fix today.

Still Deftones - White Pony, and I saw my sisters boyfriend play with La Otracina last night and they OWNED

pixiesfanyo 04-15-2006 10:34 AM
Still Deftones - White Pony, and I saw my sisters boyfriend play with La Otracina last night and they OWNED
Why Pony is such a solid album. If they cut off the track with Maynard and replaced it with something more industrial, it'd be perfect.

Zebra 04-15-2006 12:40 PM

The Beatles - Sgt Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band

Rolling Stones #1 album of all time. :)

Kyle 04-15-2006 01:34 PM

Been diggin' some Machina-era Pumpkins, it's wonderfull stuff. I always tend to neglect it, but I'm really enjoying it right now.

asymm 04-15-2006 03:56 PM

Sonic Youth - Dirty

ATM 04-15-2006 03:58 PM

Soft Canyon - Broken Spirit, I Will Mend Your Wings

Very cool.

Tangy zizzle 04-15-2006 04:24 PM

Air - 10,000hz.

It's good because it's both entertaining and relaxing. Good hungover listening.

Oh yeah, :p to Andy.

Happymeal 04-15-2006 05:10 PM

I went to the library awhile ago to borrow the audio book version of A Midsummer Night's Dream. So yeah, I'll be digging that tonight.

br3ad_man 04-15-2006 05:48 PM
You're both right (what's the album like?).
It's not bad. I'd give it a 3/5 at the moment. I've only listened to it once.

As for other new albums I listened to yesterday, the new Flaming Lips seems nice and the new Dresden Dolls is dissapointing.

This reminds me, I still need to listen to the Mission of Burma leak. I shall do this now.

br3ad_man 04-15-2006 06:14 PM

Wow, there's a new Mission of Burma album?
