After listening to all three availiable songs, I;ve come to the conclusion that they don't have huge impact on first listening, but I can imagine myself after really getting into the album, liking it a lot.

crag 08-12-2006 03:12 PM
DW>BTATS>TROBB in my book.

Listen to DW... does anyone else get reminded of the verses of "Invaders"?
It reminded me more of Rainmaker than Invaders really.

Quiksilver26 08-12-2006 06:48 PM
I love how bruce sounds on these songs, as much as i agree in a technical sense it's dropped a bit, he has more emotion to it, so IMO it's better then ever.
I have to agree, his voice is so powerful on the songs.. though i'd still like to hear a few screams like on NotB or something

ashman 08-12-2006 10:28 PM

Well you have to remember he has been singing and constantly touring for over 20 years, so considering that, he's voice has faired REALLY well.

Yeah I realize that, I was just thinking that some of the songs would benefit from a well placed scream here or there. If anything his voice is almost stronger now than ever with all those years behind him. I can't wait to hear what it'll be like on this next tour :D

Txus 08-12-2006 11:06 PM

 Wow, I think I've never posted in this thread. I love Maiden though, the new songs are amazing I prefer BTATS above the rest.

PECOAE 08-13-2006 12:14 AM

Yeah, Maiden kicks a**, I love Piece of Mind and NoTB - I know, I'm still a n00b to them - anyone wanna give me some advice on what to get next?

pate 08-13-2006 12:57 AM

Maybe the Self-titled, Seventh Son, Brave New World, and Dance of Death.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-13-2006 01:15 AM

Powerslave and Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son are the major ones you are missing.

pate 08-13-2006 01:19 AM

Jono, don't make me go on my Powerslave rant... :)

Apocalyptic Raids 08-13-2006 01:51 AM

Oh right, the one about how much better Seventh Son of A Seventh Son is?

pate 08-13-2006 01:59 AM

Well, that, and that Powerslave is the fourth most overrated metal album in history.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-13-2006 02:04 AM

What are the other three?

pate 08-13-2006 02:09 AM

You'll be mad so I won't post them.

...in order, Master of Puppets, Reign in Blood, and Rust in Piece. /runs

Apocalyptic Raids 08-13-2006 02:13 AM

Master of Puppets: yes
Reign In Blood: not really but I can see why
Rust In Peace: you fucking suck

pate 08-13-2006 02:16 AM

...told ya.

RIB is alright, but nothing so overly special. I can't stand half of RIP. Same with Powerslave: Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, and the title track fucking own, but the rest is total filler.

Apocalyptic Raids 08-13-2006 02:30 AM
Powerslave: Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Aces High, 2 Minutes to Midnight, and the title track ****ing own, but the rest is total filler.
I agree there.

GurS 08-13-2006 06:35 AM

Good filler, though. And I don't consider Losfer words REALLY filler. And Flash of the Blade rawk, stfu :(

(and, for the record, peace sells > rust in peace)

pate 08-13-2006 11:47 AM

Indeed. PS > RIP

Losfer Words is terrible. So many people say that Powerslave is the only Maiden album you need to own, which makes me cry.

Txus 08-13-2006 11:49 AM

I'm listening to DW at the moment, this song pwns \m/

pate 08-13-2006 11:50 AM

I didn't really like it that much, though it was better than TROBB. I'm in love with BTATS though.

camelfarmer 08-13-2006 11:51 AM

I really wanna see them live in London in December. That would mean missing about ten days with my girl friend and family. But if a good friend says they'll come with me, I'm so going. w00t.

Txus 08-13-2006 11:52 AM

I still think BTATS is the best new song. I would rate them like this:

BTATS >> DF >> TROBB

pate 08-13-2006 11:53 AM

Same. BTATS is the only one I would call outstanding.

camelfarmer 08-13-2006 12:02 PM

Stop using acronyms!

pate 08-13-2006 12:03 PM

TROBB = The Reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg
DW = Different Worlds
BTATS = Brighter Than A Thousand Suns

camelfarmer 08-13-2006 12:07 PM

I could have figured that out. But it makes us seem nerdy and geeky. Neeky even!

pate 08-13-2006 12:09 PM

Never!

Deth 08-13-2006 12:16 PM

Acroynms can be the greatest thing ever created in an interweb forum.

Deth 08-13-2006 12:21 PM

Don't make me come over there!

pate 08-13-2006 12:26 PM
YARI :thumb:
You are right indeed.

MUAIF

Making up acronyms is fun. /stops

Rust In Piece?? You better run.

and BTATS pwns TROBB and DW

pate 08-13-2006 12:31 PM

/comes back to make statement

I agree that BTATS pwns the others.

/runs before you notice me

-The Frank 08-13-2006 01:06 PM

Me likes the new song lots.

But,at the moment all i can hear in my head is DW, it's just so gad damn catchy.

I agree with you there, i've been singing it all weekend.

JamJar 08-13-2006 02:56 PM

I've only listened to each of the three songs once. I don't want everything to be overplayed to death before my first listen of the entire album.

PAJJ 08-13-2006 04:15 PM

i can't stop, they're all really good, still thinking BTATS>TROBB>>DW
TROBB is out properly tomorrow, which i'll buy for a decent quality version of the song, and it's only 15 days until the album, it's like the build up to christmas.......

GurS 08-13-2006 05:43 PM

except more metally then christmas \m/

Surtr 08-13-2006 09:03 PM

Well..I really enjoyed what I heard from A Thousands Suns..so..I've decided to leave it at that.

I've always had a habbit of ruining albums for myself..so..I've listened to and will continue to listen to TROBB and I also got to hear chopped up pieces (But oh so lovely pieces) of A Thousand Suns, so I'm going to leave it at that. I won't check into Different Worlds. I'm not ruining this album for myself, and this way I'm going to possibly go insane the moment I put the CD in my Player and give it it's first listen.

:) I'm so bloody pumped.

In other news, I fayled to get tickets to a Maiden concert as my family quite suddenly decided to go away for the weekend and I was left without access to a computer/internet. :(
