It was originally a old Irish country song I think

Jam2Me 01-06-2005 03:15 PM

Heh, I used to like Thin Lizzy a lot, I tihnk they're classified as Metal but they didn't seem too hard to me..I mainly liked them because they were Irish though lol. Cowboy Song was by far my favorite.

RockAndRoll 01-06-2005 04:08 PM
An easy song. It doesn't have to be finger picked either, just an easy acoustic song.
Haha, I have faith in you.

ultimaterocker 01-06-2005 04:13 PM
well at least some of us have our heads on straight. it's a start. i'm wanna see some band come along and revitalize the classic rock style...
i think bands like Jet and Velvet revolver have taken classic rock to the new level

Badmoon 01-06-2005 04:18 PM
I tihnk they're classified as Metal but they didn't seem too hard to me
They are pretty far from Metal.
Listen to Tom Waits, people.

He fits here, his first album was in 1973.
I like him :).

There are some tough parts if you ask me. And I don't know how you couldn't fingerpick that song. It would sound pretty bad.

 *a burning rage has just erupted*

That reminds me of how much I hate n00bs.
My dad gave me his classial guitar a long time ago, and I need a song to learn. Ideas?
Blackbird. And, not really a classic rock group, but Dee by Ozzy (or should I say Rhoads? Gah) is ridiculously fun to play on a good classical guitar.

I think you don't know what you are talking about, and should kill yourself now because nothing you do with your life will be worthwhile. I'd be angry, but I can't help shake the feeling that you're kidding. There's no way you can be serious. Please tell me you're kidding.

Edit: I am miik is right, I apologize for the post. The Jet and VR comment just seemed a bit absurd. But in that vein of music, Zeppelin, ZZ Top, AC/DC, and many other bands trump Jet and VR by far.

O.k. first off, telling somebody to kill themseleves is not cool. ASecondly, he's not dumb, just ignorant, as most forum noobs are. Just point him toward some real classic rock.

BludgeonySteve 01-06-2005 05:45 PM

Take classic rock to a new level?

*VR are not classic rock.

*sigh* You're right. I apologize. The comment just seemed absurd, and I've been kind of grouchy lately.

Illmatic 01-06-2005 06:36 PM

I don't have it, sorry.

magicbus 01-06-2005 09:09 PM

Man I just jammed along with every song on the Crossroads dvd, and I really want to get into some of that music now. Robert Cray, Buddy Guy, Joe Walsh, just to name a few. Man blues rocks. I think I'll be playing some blues songs for the talent show in may.

For the Joe Walsh, get James Gang-Rides Again. It has Funk #49, and it is probably his best album. He did have a few solo career hits, Rocky Mountain Way, Turn To Stone.

Badmoon 01-06-2005 09:13 PM

Well, that whole thing was stupid.

Looks like the Grateful Dead will be getting the wildcard :).
For the Joe Walsh, get James Gang-Rides Again.
Nice choice.

Illmatic 01-06-2005 09:15 PM

Funk #49 is a killer song.

wanton 01-06-2005 09:15 PM

Man ... someone needs to review CSN's first album. :o

Woodstock 01-06-2005 09:16 PM

Too bad Funk #48 doesn't quite measure up.

Go ahead, I know your aiming this towards me.

gmoneyguy 01-06-2005 09:18 PM

We got to watch some Bela Fleck today in music theory!

wanton 01-06-2005 09:20 PM
Go ahead, I know your aiming this towards me.
Eh ... don't know, just want someone to do it if they can. :(

Badmoon 01-06-2005 09:20 PM

Sweet :thumb:

I'll probably take a theory class next year.
