Sorry to come in with something slightly unrelated guys, but do you know if last.fm is free for artists to sign up and stream their music online? I had a look at doing it but in T&C it kept talking about royalties. Anyone had any experience with this?

It's free, I have my stuff up there. It has royalty options for those who want to collect.

Yeah, I just entered them. I don't see any reason why they can't be faked if someone wanted to.

Make sure you tag your stuff with as many tags as possible no matter how irrelevant.

I dont really understand how the whole thing works. Im led to believe that you have to create a user name, and then manage a band account from this username?

Yeah, you can use it to upload and promote your music with tags and such. When somebody puts in, say, pop-punk into the last.fm radio and your band's music is tagged as pop-punk there's a chance they'll hear your bands music. You can also pay for advertising and guaranteed plays but its expensive.

Most people just use the site to scrobble how much music they listen to and occasionally find new bands.

You get access to a separate panel linked to your main account, where you can manage things.

Yeah. I thought there would be a seperated side, like myspace music for example. I think iv got the hang of it now, but its not letting me upload songs at the minute. I googled and appaently alot of people are having this problem so ill have another go tomorrow.

I just need to find out where to add band bios and stuff now.
